Do you have a ton of left over scraps of cardstock and Designer Series Paper? Here is a great way to use up some of those scraps. This is called a Herringbone design and it is very easy to do. Instead of throwing those small pieces away, you can use for something like this. For this card I used the Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks in Brights. One of the reasons I love this paper is you get 4 sheets of different designs in every color Stampin’ Up! offers. That is 40 sheets of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper for $21.95. It is an awesome value! There are even stacks for the In-Colors!
The stamp set I used is called A Dozen Thoughts which is a very versatile set. It has a sentiment for just about every thought out there. I love sets that can be used over and over.
How do you do this herringbone design and keep the papers straight? Is there a video somewhere showing how to do this?

Hi Joann. You just lay down one strip and then build off of that. The first strip I put down was the plain Bermuda Bay one that goes from the left down to the right. Then I could put down the two strips underneath that one. Then I placed the other plain Bermuda Bay strip making sure it was up against the first one perfectly so they would all be straight. Make the strips longer than what is needed and then cut off the ends after you have it all put together. I hope that makes sense. If you don’t understand I can send you some pictures.
