Earlier this month I had a workshop for a new customer named Robin. Robin wanted to do Christmas Cards at her workshop so I designed two of them. This is the first card we made. We used the stamp set called Lovely As A Tree and stamped it three times on the card without re-inking it. When you do this it makes it look like the lighter trees are more in the background then the bolder ones. Then we punched a 1″ circle out of Post-It Note Paper and put it on the card. Then, when you sponge the background, it leaves the circle without any ink so it looks like a moon. This technique is called masking and is always a fun thing to learn when you are a new stamper.
Great lovely as a tree card. What colors did you use? I was thinking marina mist and early expression or soft suede?
Thanks.

Good morning Diana. I actually just used Marina Mist for the sponging and the rest is Night of Navy. Thanks for your comment!

Lovely as a Tree is definitely one of my favorite stamp sets and this card proves why… such elegance and yet so simple.
