A few years ago a bunch of us got together at my house to make our own Christmas cards together. It was a great way to get it done and have fun at the same time. Everyone brought some food and drinks to share. My friend Lou was having a bad day. She wasn’t feeling very well and she had a bad week at work. Normally Lou is laughing and smiling and having a great time. She was a little quiet and somber when she arrived. Everyone took out their supplies to make their cards. Most of the colors were green and red or blue and silver. Then Lou takes out her colors. She brought black and dark gray. We knew it wasn’t going to be a good day for her. I am not sure she even made a card that day at all. We all still laugh about this. So, in honor of Lou, I made this Smokey Slate and Basic Black Christmas card. Of course I had to brighten it up a bit with the Real Red so it kind of ruins the moment but I was still thinking about her.
