Last Day For The Online Extravaganza & Lovely As A Tree

No one likes to send Sympathy cards but unfortunately they are part of life. There is no better way to show someone from afar that you care and are thinking of them then sending a homemade card when you can’t be with them.

I made this card using the stamp set called Lovely As A Tree. Now, everyone knows this set. It has been a part of Stampin’ Up! the longest. Shelli Gardner, the CEO of Stampin’ Up! said it would never retire. Now, I am not so sure about that, but it is one of the most beautiful sets they offer. I stamped the tree once in the foreground and then again in the background without re-inking it. It makes the trees come out lighter which gives the illusion that they are farther away. I did this three times. Then I took a piece of Post-It-Note paper and cut a circle out of it, put it on the card and sponged around it. That technique is called Masking. After removing the Post-It-Note I inked up the “moon” with a little So Saffron Ink and stamped the sentiment.
