I don’t know if you have noticed or not, but I am trying to get out of my comfort zone and make cards using stamps I don’t normally use, using techniques that are different (for me), coloring more (something I don’t really enjoy), using colors that are not my favorites and even making a vintage card or two (those are coming soon!). I think this card has just about all of those things. Well maybe not, but they have a couple of them.
One thing I am not fond of is butterflies. If I see one flying around going from flower to flower, then that is ok. If I see a swarm, I am running for my life. I went to a Butterfly Garden once, which was really a very hot indoor atrium with hundreds of butterflies all over. They got in my hair and flew into me and before you left the atrium you had to be blown off in case there were any stuck to you. It was a bug nightmare. After I made this card, I realized the circles from Timeless Textures make the butterflies look like they are flying around in crazy circles. It reminded me of the atrium. Another thing I am not fond of is purple but I used it in this card. I am getting so brave!

TEEE HEEEEE. Loved your post. The card is wonderful (even tho out of your comfort zone), and your post just makes it all the better. At least if those butterflies are flying in circles, they can’t land on you!

Great card, Susan. I’m proud of you for stretching yourself. You’ve gone way out of your comfort zone lately – especially with all those frenzied butterflies. Hope you didn’t have nightmares after.

Thanks, Buffy. Someday I will take you to the butterfly garden (even though it is not a garden). You love butterflies so maybe you will love it. I’ll just wait outside!

I’m surprised that you even own Papillion Potpourri, Susan!! You’re very brave to step out of your comfort zone; it’s very difficult to make great cards with colours/items you don’t like, but you did a great job!!

Susan, your butterfly story is comical. Thanks for sharing it. I truly love butterfly’s, but do not use the stam very often. Guess I just need some ideas.

You’ll have to get it out, JoAnn. I have been looking at some of my older sets and using them again. It is fun!
