Balloon Adventures Stamp Off Anniversary

First of all, I need to say Happy Anniversary to Buffy and Jackie.  We have been doing our Stamp Off Challenges for a year now!  Time sure flies!  When we first started this, it was supposed to be a every once in a while thing.  That lasted, well, one week.  We decided to do it every Friday until one of us didn’t want to anymore.  Here we are, a year later and still going strong.  I am so proud to be partners with these two very talented ladies.  I am so thankful they are easy going and don’t mind when I cheat a bit.  Let’s face it.  I am the biggest cheater (rebel) of them all and they have not “yelled” at me once.  As far as I know, they haven’t even gotten mad at me (of course, they haven’t seen this week’s challenge yet!). The only issue I have with them is there are really bad enablers!  I seem to want to buy everything they create with!  This is why I love these ladies.  They are talented, sweet and patient with someone who doesn’t always follow the rules.  How amazing is that?!?    OK.  Enough of the mushy stuff!

This week our Stamp Off Challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  You are supposed to (note the words “supposed to”) draw a straight line across, down or diagonally on the Tic Tac Toe Board and make a card using these items.

Don’t look too closely because I did a bent line instead of a straight one.  I wanted to make a masculine card with balloons but I didn’t really have any birthday Washi Tape so I used In Colors instead.

Masculine birthday cards are one of the hardest to make (for me).  You can’t really add ribbon or sparkles and you certainly can’t use flower stamps.  My sons would roll their eye balls if they saw things like that on their cards.

You can use balloons!  Everyone loves balloons.  Stampin’ Up! has a new catalog out called the Occasions Catalog, and there are some awesome balloon stamps and dies.  The stamps are called Balloon Adventures.  It has a lot of great sentiments, as well as balloons, strings, confetti and banners.  I didn’t use the dies on this card (the are called Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies) but if you buy both the stamps and the dies you can save 10%.  The stamps also go with the Balloon Bouquet Punch (which I did use).

The Designer Series Paper is called Party Animal.  It is also in the Occasions Catalog and was made to go with this suite of products.

Now go check out Jackie’s and Buffy’s creations.  I am sure they followed the rules, although I am not to sure about Buffy anymore.  She has been a rebel lately!

  1. Oh Susan, Your mushy stuff touched my heart. I love that you are the rebel in our group and keep us mindful that it is the love and not the rules that bind us together. Beautiful masculine card. I really like those colors together and it reminds me to work more out of my comfort zone. I think your bend to the rules was perfect!

  2. I was very touched by the “mushy stuff.” You and Jackie are so talented and keep me stretching (and keep my wallet empty. Talk about enabling). Love your bent line and that you bend the rules. The challenges are to spark creativity, not keep you boxed in. I love that you knock down the box walls now and then. Great card – and Happy anniversary!!

  3. Well Happy Stamp-Off Anniversary, Susan!! (I visited the other blogs first, and didn’t know what they were referring to, in their comment section). I can’t believe it’s been a year already that you’ve all been inspiring – and enabling – me and each other! Another fabulous card to cap off the year! Thanks for sharing 🙂
