We had a kind of house warming party a couple of weeks ago at the cottage. It really wasn’t a real house warming party. We just invited our friends and neighbors over for dinner so they could see the cottage and meet each other. We were expecting around 20 people but we ended up having almost 30. It as lots of fun.
My parents were very social people and had a lot of parties. I guess that is why is doesn’t seem like a lot of work and I don’t get stressed when we have them. Every once in a while, before the party started, my mother would say FHB to all of us (kids). FHB means Family Hold Back. It was usually a sign that meant Mom was worried about having enough food. I was a little worried about how much food we had for our cottage party so FHB went into effect. We actually ended up with just the right amount so family got to eat after all.
My friend, Karen made me this card and gave it to me with a beautiful Hydrangea plant. It is just adorable. She used the set of Thinlits called Seasonal Layers. It was perfect because Rob and I sit on the deck every night to enjoy the view. It is very peaceful just like this card. She did a great job sponging the background and using cardstock for the water. I love how she made a table out of the Adirondack Chair. That is very clever, don’t you think?
