Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper is new in this year’s Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. I have to admit I was a little skeptical about it at first. I was afraid it would be too hard to handle. I am glad I decided to try it because it really is not too bad. It is delicate but it is so beautiful that it is worth the extra effort.
This Specialty Paper comes with eight sheets (four of two different designs). One sheet is very easy to cut as each design has a border. The other design is one big sheet and you just need to go a little slower when cutting or it will rip. To make this easier, I marked the back of a full sheet of the Laser Cut Paper with a pencil measuring 3.75″ by 5″ in one corner and lightly put Multipurpose Liquid Glue all over within these pencil marks. Then I attached it to a 4″ by 5.25″ piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and let it dry before cutting it. It looked like this:Then I took my Paper Snips and carefully cut along the edge of the Mint Macaron cardstock to detach my piece from the full sheet of the Laser Cut Paper. After that I put it upside down in my Stampin’ Trimmer and cut it to the size I wanted (3.75″ x 5″). The whole process did not take very long because Multipurpose Liquid Glue dries really fast.
The last step was to add the Thank You to the card. This was easy because Stampin’ Up! now has a die called Thank You Thinlits to do this. I cut it out in Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
