Making Christmas Bright

This is the last card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting inn October.  Before I showed them this card, I first showed them this:

Some of them had no clue what this thing was.  Those that knew kind of rolled their eyes but admitted they had one (somewhere but hadn’t taken it out in a while).  I rarely used mine because it was hard to get the paper in straight and turn the lever at the same time.  Well, now Stampin’ Up!®  has an embossing folder that does this!  It is called Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions and it is in the Holiday Catalog.  If you remember that contraption above, you need to get this embossing folder.

The stamp set we used on this card is also in the Holiday Catalog.  It is called Making Christmas Bright.  It has a matching punch called Christmas Bulb Builder and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. There is also another stamp set in this catalog that fits the punch.  It is called Making Everyday Bright and is on Page 47.  Even though we did not use this stamp set, I have it listed below so you can look at it.

The colors we used on this card are Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch.

  1. I love that card, Susan. It’s so happy and fun! I still have my crimper. Technical question – did you spritz your paper before you embossed? I’ve embossed two pieces with the new folder (and didn’t spritz, because I’m lazy) and I ended up with several pieces. It really does do a deep impression! Just wondering if spritzing helpd, because your embossing is perfect and doesn’t look ripped up like mine. (I could try spritzing and see if it works better, but, as I said, I’m lazy. Picking your brain is easier.)
