Here is an example of a very simple card that a beginner could make easily yet I think it is elegant enough for the advanced stamper too.  It only requires a couple of stamp sets (Rooted In Nature and Itty Bitty Greeting) and a few Stampin’ Write Markers or Stampin’ Up!®  Blends. In this case I used my Blends to make the background.  You would not even have to use as many colors as I did.  You could just use a couple.

To make this card I first scribbled some lines with my Blends on Whisper White cardstock.  The colors I used are Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.  I overlapped each one just a bit.  Then I stamped the tree from Rooted In Nature and the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I adhered that piece of cardstock using Dimensionals onto the Whisper White card base.  The whole card took about five minutes to make in full.
