Tropical Chic

I need a break from winter.  Normally Rob and I go to Florida for at least a week during the winter months but we have had so much going on that we haven’t been able to go.  I am not complaining because a lot of that is because we go to visit our grandchildren, which is much better than a week in Florida alone.  The only thing is, although they live in a warmer climate than I do, it is still not sunshine and t-shirt weather.  Next time we will all have to go to Florida together!  Of course, the grandchildren are like sunshine to me, which is even better!  Here is where you can start humming “you are my sunshine, my only sunshine….🎶🎵

To get back to my card, I decided to use some tropical products for my card.  The stamp set is called Tropical Chic and it has matching dies called Tropical Thinlits.  They are both part of a suite called Tropical Escape (which is what I need!).  Also in this suite are embellishments, ribbon and Designer Series Paper.  I used everything in the suite on this card except the embellishments.

To make this card I first stamped the flower in Blushing Bride ink and the leaves in Granny Apple Green.  Then I cut them out using the Tropical Thinlits Dies.  I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper called Tropical Escape and layered a piece of 1/2” Textured Weave Ribbon in Granny Apple Green on top.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink.

Can you feel the warmth and sunshine?

  1. Well, the skies are bright here, but it’s about -7C, and everything is snow covered! A tropical getaway sounds good – but your card will have to do! I love the bright colours, and terrific layout.
