Vibrant & Varied Vases

This is the birthday card I made for my friend, Debby.  Her birthday is tomorrow but she should have gotten the card already.  I am always early in life.  I arrive early places and I mail things early.  Sometimes I have to drive around the block 30 times because I am way to early to arrive somewhere.

In any case, the colors I used for this card are Daffodil Delight, Pretty Peacock and Gray Granite.  It is kind of a strange combination but I think it works.  I used three different stamp sets to make this card.  The flower vase is from Varied Vases but the flowers are from Vibrant Vases.  Both stamp sets have a matching punch called Vases Builder.  I love it when Stampin’ Up!® makes products you can mix and match.

I first stamped the vase in Pretty Peacock.  This is a new InColor and is gorgeous!  Next I stamped the outline of the flowers in Gray Granite and then colored them using my Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.  I cut this image out using the Layering Ovals Dies and layered it on a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock that I had also cut out using the Layering Ovals Dies.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays.  I just stamped it in Pretty Peacock on a leftover piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut the ends out by hand.  You need to save all those little pieces you cut off for things like this.

I layered it on a piece of  6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper in Daffodil Delight,  I love the plaids in this pack of paper.

Happy Birthday, Debby.  I hope you have a great day tomorrow!

  1. Another beautiful, elegant card, Susan. I love the colors (I’m a huge fan of the plaid as well) and the layout. I need to take a page from your book and send cards early. I always think, “Oh, I have two more weeks,” and then I forget to mail the card and it’s late.

  2. Everyone loves a vase of flowers for their birthday! This card is so pretty. I’m like you – always early for appointments. Unlike you – I’m almost never early with sending cards! It’s kind of a joke in my family now….the card lady who doesn’t send cards on time!
