This is the birthday card I sent to Buffy (you all know who Buffy is by now) earlier this month. Well, I probably sent it in August because you also know I am always early. In any case, I wanted to send her something special and not one of my usual quick and easy cards.
To make her card I first embossed the flowers from the stamp set called Band Together using Versamark and White Embossing Powder. Then I colored them using the light and dark Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin’ Up!® Blends. I actually tried to find a real flower that is similar to this one and color it as correctly as I could. I am not the best colorer but I think I did pretty well on this card. Blends make colorer so much easier because they blend so well together. Then I cut the flowers out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I adhered that to a piece of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Brights in Old Olive.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut it out also using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I couldn’t find one that fit perfectly but you can make your own size by cutting it multiple times. Here is a picture on how I did it.

This card is gorgeous – but even more beautiful in person!! I LOVED it. And you should never say you’re not a good “colorer,” because your coloring is awesome. Always.

Wow – I thought you had watercoloured the flower! It’s so beautiful, and the shading is gorgeous. You can no longer call yourself “not a good colourer’, Susan! The secret’s out! 🙂
