I have to say, my taste in stamp sets has certainly changed since I got grandchildren. Some of them are old enough to send cards to and none of them would want a flowered card. I had to broaden my horizons and start looking at stamp sets that children and young at heart adults would like even if I did not. This was not the case with the Birthday Bonanza Suite. I loved that little Toucan the minute I saw him. Maybe it is because I went to the rain forest in Costa Rica and saw a real Toucan. The rain forest was beautiful and so was all the wildlife we saw.
To make this card I first stamped the Toucan in Memento Black Ink and the Koala in Smoky Slate. I have a great hint when you need to stamp a good solid image: use your Stamparatus. That way, you can stamp it multiple times in the same position to get good coverage. There is not a splotch of white to be seen on my images. I colored the Toucan’s beak using Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Markers. Then I cut out both figures using the matching Bonanza Dies (you can save 10% by purchasing the stamp set and dies in a Bundle). I cut out the pennants and balloons and stamped the boxes also in Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody and then layered everything together.
Happy Birthday, Sam. I hope you have a terrific day!
