Stampin Up Daisy Garden

Daisy Garden is a new background stamp that is in the 2021/2022 Stampin’ Up!® Up Annual Catalog.  They offer a few different background stamps and I like all of them but this one caught my eye because it was an image and not just a background.  You can stamp it and leave it alone or you can color it with your Stampin’ Up!® Write Markers, Watercolor Pencils or Blends.

For this card I decided to use this large background stamp on Designer Series Paper.  I always forget that DSP is great for backgrounds but you can also stamp on it to make it more interesting.  In this card I stamped it onto a piece of Soft Succulent In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Assortment using Evening Evergreen ink.  I used the Stamparatus to do this which allowed me to stamp it multiple times for good coverage.  After stamping it I cut it down to 3.75″ x 5″ and layered it on top of a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Evening Evergreen card stock and a Soft Succulent card base.

After that I stamped six small daisies from the stamp set called Daisy Lane and punched them out using the Medium Daisy Punch in So Saffron ink.  I used two daisies to make one flower.   I stamped the centers of the flowers in Evening Evergreen ink and fussy cut them out.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Artistically Inked.  I stamped it in Versamark and sprinkled White Embossing Powder on top and heated it with my Heat Tool.  When I emboss something I also use my Stamparatus in case some of the embossing powder doesn’t stick so you can stamp it again in the exact same spot.  I also like to emboss a sentiment twice to make it stand out more (which I did in this case).

As a side note, Rob and I are so fortunate in being able to have our cottage on Lake Ontario in the summer and in Nashville in the winter.  When we left New York, Fall had already started and the weather was in the high 60’s with cool nights.  Then we arrived in Nashville for another two months of summer.  This past week it has actually been a bit hot (in the mid to high 80’s) but I am not complaining.  The longer the summer lasts, the happier I am.  It is hard for me to make Fall and winter cards when it is so warm but this is a reality check for everyone.  Christmas is only a couple of months away.  It is time to think about your Christmas cards.  Stampin’ Up!® offers some amazing Christmas sets in the Annual and the Mini Catalogs.  You need to order soon to have enough time to make those beautiful cards.  Don’t forget adhesive and card stock while you are ordering!
