Turtle Friends

Stampin Up Turtle Friends

Happy December!  I am not sure how it became December already.  I feel like summer was just a month or so ago.

I made this card for Jackie a couple of months ago for her birthday.  Jackie loves stamp sets with critters so I thought it would be a good one to send to her.  I was never a big critter person until I had grandchildren but now I have a few sets with them.  I have been teaching some of my grands to stamp and they love little animal stamps.  Usually they stamp a few on card stock and the end up coloring the entire card with markers.  It is fun to see what they come up with although some of them turn out a little crazy!

To make this card I first stamped the turtle from the stamp set called Turtle Friends in Memento Black ink and then colored it with my Granny Apple Green  Stampin’ Up!® Blends.  Then I stamped the shell in Granny Apple Green ink.  I stamped and colored the hat and then fussy cut it out.  Next I cut all the circles using the Layering Circles Dies in Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Pattern Party Designer Series Paper and layered them on top of another piece of Patterned Party DSP.  I popped up the middle one using Dimensionals.  I layered all of that on a Coastal Cabana card base.

Current Host Code is 9FVQE6MH

  1. This is adorable, Susan! I love the cheery prints – and the way you turned the middle striped circle is perfect! I never bought cute critter stamps before either; we do crazy things for the grands! I’ll be their cards are fun!
