Stampin’ Up!® has so many products in the new 2022 January – June Mini Catalog that I think I may have ordered most of them. Seas The Day is one of those bundles that was on my first list. I know I already have some stamp sets with fish and seaweed (Seascape) but the dies in this new bundle are what made me but this one. Don’t get me wrong. The stamp set (Seas The Day) is adorable. It is a DistINKtive stamp set which means one image stamps different opacities. I love DisINKtive stamp sets. Still, I took one look at the dies that coordinate with this set and I knew I had to have them. The images in the stamp set have dies that cut them out but the greatest part is the large background die. It cuts out a frame that includes bubbles and seaweed. Kind of like a diorama. I just think it is adorable.
The first thing I did to make this card was to cut out the background piece in Balmy Blue card stock. Then I thought what better paper to use when fish are involved but the Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper called Simply Marbleous!?! It looks like swirling water to me so I cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece and layered it on top of a Basic White card base. Then I adhered the background on top. I stamped and cut out a couple of the fish out using Fresh Freesia ink, the jelly fish in Mango Melody ink and the starfish in Daffodil Delight. I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink and adhered everything together using Multipurpose Glue and Dimensionals. Lastly, I added some Subtle Shimmer Sequins to some of the bubbles to add a bit of sparkle. You can never have too much sparkle on a card.
The nice thing about this card is if you purchase the Seas The Day stamp set and the Sea Dies in a bundle you could get the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper for free during Sale-a-bration!
