Stampin Up Rainbow Of Happiness

There are only five days left until Sale-a-bration ends.  In case you haven’t been paying attention, Sale-a-bration is when you can earn FREE Stampin’ Up!® merchandise with a qualifying order.  There are multiple stamp sets and packs of Designer Series Paper you can get for FREE!  One of my favorites is the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper.  There are 48 6″ x 6′ sheets of double sided paper in this pack.  Both sides of the paper are bright and fun patterns.  Plus they coordinate with the Rainbow Of Happiness Bundle that is in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog.

This card was super easy to make but I think if someone got it in the mail, it would make them smile.  I took the largest die from the Brilliant Rainbow Die set and cut it out four times using different pieces of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP.  One die cuts out all four strips at once so I can use the other pieces to make more cards.  One trick I learned when adhering the rainbow pieces to a background is to cut the die out of a piece of Basic White (or any color for that matter) and save the negative piece.  Then you can just attached it to your card base using Washi Tape or a temporary adhesive and lay the Designer Series Paper pieces inside it.   Then you just remove the negative piece. That way you have them all spaced and lined up evenly.

The next step was also easy to do but did take a little longer.  I decided I wanted to cut the sentiment out using the small cloud dies.  The words are pretty close together on the stamp so I had to mask off each one before stamping.  All you do is take a piece of Washi Tape or a Post-it note and cover the words you do not want to stamp.  Then you ink up the stamp.  Now here is the hardest part.  You have to remember to take of the tape after inking it and before stamping or you end up with with blobs of ink (ask me how I know this!).  This way I was able to stamp each word in the sentiment separately and then cut them out using the cloud die.  Then I just adhered the words to the end of each rainbow strip using Multipurpose Glue.  The card base is Pool Party.

  1. This card is so sweet! I LOVE the way you cut up the sentiment. Anyone would smile getting this card. (And, yeah, I learned the hard way about removing the mask before stamping too! Nice to know I’m in good company!)
