Paradise Palms

Stampin Up Paradise Palms

Well, I had to cancel my stamp camp with my ladies on Wednesday due to an illness but I am going to reschedule it again sometime soon.  Therefore, I can’t show you the cards we made quite yet.  Hopefully, it will be next week!

Instead I wanted to show you a card that uses crazy colors.  First of all I used the stamp set called Paradise Palms along with the coordinating dies called Palms.  This is a bundle that was in the retiring January – June Mini Catalog.  It is being carried over into the 2022/2023 Annual Catalog but you will not be able to get the bundle discount once the Mini retires so if you like this bundle you could save 10% if you purchase it before July 1st.

Most palm trees are green (as you know) but I decided I wanted to try different colors and chose one of the new InColors called Tahitian Tide.  I am sure they have palm trees in Tahiti so what better color to use that that one!  Tahitian Tide is such a fun, bright color and it goes well with a lot of the other colors Stampin’ Up!® offers.

The second color I chose was Sahara Sand.  I don’t think they have palm trees in the desert but it is a great neutral color that goes with just about everything.    So, I first stamped the background palm trees in Sahara Sand.  Then I added the sand dune beneath the trees.  Next I cut out the Tahitian Tide palm tree top with a Sahara Sand trunk and layered that on top of the smaller trees. I cut the fence out of Tahitian Tide card stock and layered that at the bottom.  Next, I figured if I was using crazy colors I would not use a yellow for the sun.  Instead I picked Pale Papaya.  Then I stamped the sentiment.

As an add on, I cut out the little dots in Pale Papaya card stock using a new die that is coming soon to make the coconuts.  After I adhered them, I wish I hadn’t but it was too late.  I think the card would have looked better without them.

  1. What a fun card! I love the colors you chose. I’m sorry you had to cancel your stamp camp; I know everyone was looking forward to it. But they’ll enjoy it just as much when you can reschedule!
