Hello everyone. I am sorry I missed posting last Friday but it was a crazy fourth of July week around here and I just plain forgot to write one. It was a week filled with grandchildren and BBQs and lots of swimming, jet skiing and boating. It was so much fun and also exhausting but I would not have traded it for anything.
I made this card for my friend, Renee for her birthday. Renee has been in my stamp class for what seems like forever. She is very creative and has a great mind for remembering things. Whenever we get new InColors, remembering all the new names takes me a while. Renee knows them all and helps me not look like a fool in class. We both also have a thing about critters so I just had to make her a card using one.
To make this card I first cut out a rectangle using the Stitched Rectangles out of a piece of Basic White card stock. I used the negative piece of this to use as a mask for some ink blending with my Blending Brushes. I started at the bottom using Bermuda Bay and Pool Party ink. Then I used Balmy Blue for the top of the card. I did it kind of blotchy on purpose so it would look more like the sky with clouds.
After this, I stamped the Heron from the stamp set called Heron Habitat in Night Of Navy ink onto a piece of Smoky Slate card stock and cut it out using the coordinating Heron Dies. If you purchase the stamp set and dies using the bundle item number, you can save 10%. I adhered that to my blended piece of card stock.
Next, I cut out all the grass in Night Of Navy card stock and adhered that to the card. Then I stamped the birds and the sentiment. I have to say, one of the reasons I purchased this stamp set was for the sentiments. I love the font they used and most of them cover any occasion you need to make a card for.

This is beautiful, Susan! I love the “cloudy sky” background with the die-cuts and the stamped images in the blocked area. So lovely!
