Joyful Flurry

Stampin Up Joyful Flurry

It is always hard for me to make Autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards in the summertime.  The weather is warm and the sun is shining and no one wants to think about snow and cold weather.  I know it is the last thing I want to think about but the 2022 July – December Mini Catalog is out and it is full of fall products that are just so amazing that I had to get some of them out to play with.

I know a lot of people looked at the new 2022 July – December Mini Catalog, saw the Joyful Flurry stamp set and the Frosted Flurry Dies and thought “Oh no!  More snowflakes!” but you need to take a closer look at them.  Yes, they are normal snowflakes but look at the coordinating dies!  Yes, they cut out the snowflake stamps but there are also dies that only partially cut out the card stock and make great backgrounds.  I just love that!

This card was super easy to make.  I first cut out the snowflake using one of the Frosted Flurry Dies in Blamy Blue card stock.  Then I used one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut around that.  Next I stamped the sentiment in Night Of Navy ink.  I layered this piece on top of a slightly larger piece of Night Of Navy card stock. Next I stamped the background snowflakes on a piece 4″ x 5.25″ of Balmy Blue cardstock with Night Of Navy ink and layered that on top of a Night Of Navy card base.  When I was done putting everything together, I added a drop of Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics in White.  When that was dry I lifted up the cut out piece of the snowflakes to make it look 3D.  Isn’t that snowflake so pretty?

On a side note, you can make the dots using the Pearlized Enamel Effects ahead of time and let them dry so they are ready to use whenever you want them to be.  Just use your Silicone Mat or a piece of Window Sheets and make a bunch of dots in different sizes and let them dry.  You can also make hearts and stars by first putting a drop of it on the sheet and then taking something sharp and dragging it down.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! It is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up!® world. 1. Beautiful card! Yes, I need to take a closer look at these dies. I love the “partially cut” snowflake, and thank you for using the Pearlized dot! So fun to see it in action.
