Well, apparently July is Watercolor Month. I don’t know how I missed this but better late than never, right?
To make my watercolor card, I used a technique that has been around for a long time. It is super easy to do and I love how it turns out. All I did was press an ink pad (in this case Fresh Freesia, Orchid Oasis, Blackberry Bliss, Starry Sky and Granny Apple Green) onto a clear block (I used block E). Then I sprayed some water on it. Then you just press your stamp onto the wet, inky block and then onto your cardstock. The more water you put on the block, the more the ink will spread and lighten. I just sprayed it a couple of times. It makes it look like you watercolored the images.
By the way, I did not use this watercolor method when stamping the sentiment as I was not sure it would be legible if I had.
While I was inking, spraying and stamping, I noticed some ink had splattered onto my card stock (as well as my desk, the other ink pads and the stamp case!). I liked the look on the card. Here is a close-up:
Happy Watercolor Month (just a little late!)!

Beautiful card, Susan! I love the extra “splotches” from the spray. Such a fun technique!!!
