Rays Of Light

Stampin Up Rays Of Light

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas full of family and friends.  The days before Christmas can always be a little stressful due to all the things I forgot to do beforehand but Christmas Day is always fun and relaxing.  All the hard work is already done (and if it is not, then it is too late anyway) so I always enjoy the day.

One of the best parts of this Christmas was my gift from Rob.  We have been trying to get out of the house every weekend and go explore a different area of Nashville.  Last weekend Rob wanted to go to Murfreesboro.  It is about a half an hour from us so we hoped in the car and went to explore.  Right before we arrived there, Rob says can you put this address into Google Maps for me?  It was a car dealer.  I asked why and he said he wanted to just browse around.  I just rolled my eyes (because he does this often).  This is what I found when we arrived:

Imagine my surprise!  At first I was thinking no way but then I drove it and I knew I had to have it.  It was so much fun to drive.  That baby can move!  At one point I had to ask the salesperson what the speed limit was.  He said 50.  I was going pretty close to 70 and it only took a couple of seconds.  Oops!  It is a mighty purty car if I do say so myself.  Needless to say we did not do a lot of exploring in Murfreesboro that day but we will go back someday and I will drive!

These cards were quick and easy to make.  I used the Rays Of Light background stamp.  The best way to stamp using a background stamp is with a Stamparatus.  The stamps are so big that sometimes it is hard to stamp it clearly the first time.  No worries if you use the Stamparatus because you can stamp in the exact same spot over and over until you are happy with the image.  It is the best invention ever (other than a mustang).  I stamped it once on Orchid Oasis card stock using Orchid Oasis ink.  Then I stamped it again using Sweet Sorbet ink on Basic White card stock.  I stamped the sentiments in the same ink color from the stamp set called Framed Florets.  I cut them out using the Stylish Shapes dies and then backed them with another die cut using a slightly larger die from this set.

Anyone want to go for a ride?  I promise to behave myself (maybe).

  1. The cards are beautiful! I usually gravitate toward the blues and purples, but I LOVE the Sweet Sorbet one. Your car though — SWEET! What a wonderful present. And since you’re in the South now, you won’t get lost in the snow. ❤
