Dainty Flowers Fun Fold

Stampin Up Dainty Flowers

A couple of weeks ago I decided to sign up for a virtual card-making class. It is being put on by very successful Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.  I am always looking for new ideas, designs and card layouts so I decided to join this group.  The class does not start until mid-January but in the meantime, they are sending us card layouts to try.  One of the layouts was a fun fold card.  You all know I love fun fold cards!  I would show you their cards but I am not sure I am allowed to but I think I can tell you it was designed by Connie Stewart.

I decided to use the new Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper called Dainty Flowers.  I love this paper!  It is so pretty that you can make it the star of your card without having to add much more to it.  The best part is you can get it for FREE with a qualifying order!  I got one pack so far but I am definitley going to get some more.  It is that beautiful.

To make this card I first took a 5.5″ x 8.5″ piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and folded it in half to make a card base.  Then I cut 1.25″ off the front of it.  You need to save that piece for later.  Next I adhered a 2.75″ x 5.25″ piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP to the front panel and another piece of the same size to the other side of the front panel. Take the leftover strip you cut off the front and cut it to 1.24″ x 4.25″.  Then score one end at .75″. Adhere the .75″ part to the left side of the card base.  You are going to cover that in the next step.

Next,  I cut a 2.5″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White cardstock and a 1.75″ x 5.25″ piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP for the inside of the card.  Here is what it looks like on the inside.

After that step, cut a .5″ x 2″ piece of DSP (I used the Starry Sky piece) and a 3/8″ x 2″ piece (I used the flower side).  Layer them together and adhere to the Mossy Meadow strip that you already attached to the card.  Next, I cut two 2.25″ x 2.25″ squares of the DSP and a 2″ x 2″ piece of Basic White card stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Framed Florets onto the Basic White piece.  Adhere that to one of the 2.25″ pieces of DSP.  Attached that to the Mossy Meadow strip.  Then adhere the other 2.35″ piece to the back.

It probably sounds a lot harder to do than it really was.  The entire card did not take more than 15 minutes to make.  Here is a list of what needs to be cut for each piece:

(1) 5.5″ x 8.5″ piece of cardstock.  Fold in half and cut off 1.25″ off the front piece.  Take the section you cut off the card base and cut it to 1.25″ x 4.25″ and score at .75.

(2) 2.75″ x 5.25″ pieces of DSP for each side of the front panel.

(1) .5″ x 2″ piece of DSP (for the design on the flap)

(1) 3/8″ x 2″ piece of DSP (for the design on the flap)

(1) 2.50″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock (1) 1.75″ x 5.25″ piece of DSP for the inside black flap.

(2) 2.25″ x 2.25″ pieces of DSP

(1) 2″ x 2″ piece of Basic White card stock
