A Present For Buffy

Spiral Flower Originals, Tag A Bag Gift Boxes, #onstage2016

One of the things I love about going to any Stamping’ Up! event is we usually either swap or make little gifts for each other.  This is the gift I made for Buffy.  It was filled with Lindt Chocolates in case she got hungry.  I tried to find coffee flavor because Buffy likes coffee so much but I couldn’t find any.

I used the Big Shot Die called Spiral Flowers.  The die makes it easy to make the flowers.  I think they come out so pretty when you are done and they don’t take a lot of time.  One nice things about the Bigz dies is you can cut out 4 pieces of cardstock at the same time so it save a lot of cranking.  Sadly, this die, as well as all the other Bigz Dies are retiring at the end of May (or while supplies last).   The Doilies are also being retired.  Of course, when I made this for Buffy, I didn’t know what was retiring and what was staying.

Cutie Pie Thinlits By Sandy

Cutie Pie Thinlits, Spiral Flower Originals

Sandy was the hostess at our last Club Meeting.  She made this amazing “pie” using the new Cute Pie Thinlits and Spiral Flowers Originals die.  She embossed a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock with a retired embossing folder and then cut the leaves out using the Bird Builder Punch.  I know it is hard to see exactly how amazing this was from a picture but believe me.  It was gorgeous!  We each got a “piece of pie” to take home.  Of course, the chocolate inside was a nice surprise too!

Didn’t Sandy do a wonderful job?  She says it was easy, but it certainly doesn’t look that way!  Thanks Sandy!

Bravo Party Pennants

Bravo, Party Pennants

Graduations from college and high school are going to be happening in the very near future so it is not too early to start making cards.  This card uses the stamp set called Bravo.  It is a Photopolymer Stamp Set that is in the Annual Catalog.  I also used a Big Shot Die called Party Pennants on this card.  It is a Bigz die so you can cut out 3-4 of the shapes all at one time.  I love this Big Shot Die and I am really hoping it does not go on the retired list that comes out on April 21st.

I have been talking about the retirement list for a while now.   Sometimes merchandise runs out on the first day it is posted.  Don’t miss out on anything and order today before your choices are no longer available.  If you love those Retiring In Colors (Coastal Cabana is one of my favorite) you better order today.  In Colors are one of those things that sell out on the first day.

Crazy About You

Crazy About You

The stamp set called Crazy About You is in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  It comes in your choice of Wood Mount, Clear Mount or Photopolymer ~ something for everyone!  I bought it in Photopolymer because it makes it so easy to line up the words.  This set has 33 stamps in it which include 30 words and 3 designs.  One of the flowers in this set coordinates with the Flower Medallion Punch.  The other flower coordinates with the Scallop Circle Punch.

The sentiment I used on this card comes from a brand new Photopolymer stamp set that is not in any catalog called Lovely Amazing You.  I love the sayings in this set as well as the fonts.

Watercooler Challenge

Banner1

It is time again for another Watercooler Challenge card.  The challenge is to CASE (copy and share everything) a card from the Stampin’ Up! 2015 Occasions Catalog.  I chose to CASE the card on page 36.  Here is my version of this card:

Petal Potpourri, Celebrate Today

I used the designer Series Paper called Stacked With Love (the same as the catalog card).  The flower is from Petal Potpourri that has a matching punch called Flower Medallion Punch.  You can buy both in a Bundle and save 15%!  The tag is from a Big Shot Bigz Die called Party Pennants Bigz L (no idea what the L means!).  The sentiment is from Celebrate Today which is also in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.

Hello, Fall

Autumn Accents, For All Things

I made this card using parts and pieces of some cut outs I did a long time ago.  I made a wreath of leaves I cut out using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and had lots of leaves left over.  I have a huge box of stamped images, punched cardstock, shapes cut out with my Big Shot, pieces of ribbon, etc.  Usually they are from a card I started and never finished for whatever reason.  I am a craft hoarder so I keep things like this thinking I will use them one day.  It is not very often I actually do use these pieces but today was one of those days!

A Beautiful Bunch Sunflower

Beautiful Bunch, Hey You

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  It uses a new stamp set called Beautiful Bunch which has a matching punch called Fun Flower.  We stamped the flower using Hello Honey ink on Hello Honey cardstock.  The leaves were stamped with Old Olive and then cut out to look like leaves instead of flower petals.  The Whisper White background was made using the Party Pennants Bigz L Die.  This die has two shapes that look like this, one being smaller than this one.  It also has two rounded edge shapes.  You can use it to make a banner too!

A Wondrous Wreath Thank You

Wonderous Wreath

The Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Wondrous Wreath does not have to be used only for Christmas.  This card can be used for Thanksgiving or just a Fall thank you card.

I made this card using a variety of different products.  The sentiment is from For All Things and is also in the Holiday Catalog.  I cut the leaves out using a Bigz Die called Autumn Accents.  You can cut out  four leaves and an acorn with this die.  I also used two different embossing folders.  One is Perfect Polka Dots for the leaves and the background is called Argyle.  I finished it off with a Designer Button from the Neutrals Collection and piece of Linen Thread.

Beautiful Wings

Beautiful Wings

I have to admit, I am not a big fan of real butterflies.  I don’t mind one of them flitting from bush to bush but I am not fan and big hoards of them.  I went to a Museum of Science that had a butterfly garden.  We were actually going to look at it as a place to have my son’s rehearsal dinner.  I had this vision of a beautiful outdoor garden, with flowers all over and little butterflies going from flower to flower.  I thought what a beautiful place that would be to have dinner.  They even offered to have a “butterfly release” during the dinner.  No.  It was not a beautiful outdoor garden.  It was inside a very hot and humid atrium and there were hundreds of butterflies flying all over the place, including in your hair and when you left you had to walk through a giant blower to get the butterflies off of you.  Needless to say, we did not have the dinner there.  It was horrifying!

Paper butterflies are okay though.  I used the Embosslit called Beautiful Wings to make all the butterflies.  The sentiment is from And Many More.  These butterflies won’t land in your hair!

Perfect Pennants

Perfect Pennants

I need to be honest here.  I think this is the first time I have used the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder.  The sad part is it has been available for a couple of years at least.  I don’t know why I never used it before because it really is beautiful!  I love how it makes a border but you don’t have to just use it at the bottom of your card.

The banner is from the stamp set called Perfect Pennants and it was cut out with the Banner Framelits.  The ribbon is 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon in Daffodil Delight.  This is one of the ribbons that Buffy and I shared.  We each bought four different kinds of ribbon and then shared half of it with each other.  We have been doing this for a couple of years now and I love it.  You should try to find someone to do this with!  It will give you both a great variety of ribbon.
