Crafting Forever For FMS

I have not participated in a sketch challenge in a really long time but I came across the Freshly made Sketches challenge this week and really liked the sketch.  Whenever I get stuck creating I look for a sketch challenge and then fit that sketch to products I own.  Here is their sketch:

Here is my card:

I used the stamp set called Crafting Forever to make this card.  This stamp set is in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  I first stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the colored it using my Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight Dark and Light Stampin’ Blends.  Then I cut three 1/2″ strips of paper from the Subtles 6′ X 6″ Designer Series Paper Pack.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Itty Bitty Birthdays.  This set is in the 2019 Occasion Catalog.

Craft Projet Central Challenge

I have had a little trouble lately making cards.  It is called lack of mojo and for some reason it has hit me hard!  I was talking to Buffy and Jackie (my favorite Stamp Off buddies) about it and Buffy suggested I try a challenge and sent me this Craft Project Central Challenge.

060-232x300

I had a rough time of it but managed to come up with something worth posting.  Of course, this was after throwing out 2 or 3 tries!

Badges & Banners,

I used a stamp set that I won at the Stampin’ Up! ONStage in Salt Lake City.  It actually comes with a matching punch and I forgot to order it so I had cut out the bird cage.  The Designer Series Paper is called Blooms & Bliss.  It is really pretty with nice color combinations.  This piece happens to use Mint Maccaron, Island Indigo and Sahara Sand.  The great thing about Designer Series Paper is it has two sides.  The banner I used it the other side of the flowers.  The little hearts are from the Owl Builder Punch and the sentiment is punched out with the Duet Banners Punch.

Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCCCS151

I haven’t participated in a challenge lately so I thought I would look for one.  I came across the Paper Craft Crew Challenge (actually some friends of mine are part of the design team) and thought I would make a card using this sketch.

PCCCS106-160-016-300x300Here is my card:

By The Tide, PCCC151

I used the stamp set called By The Tide.  It has been around for a while but I still love it.  I didn’t follow the sketch exactly but I hope it is close enough.  I couldn’t figure out what to use for the three little flowers so I just left them off.  Then I decided it was a masculine card so I didn’t put a ribbon on it either.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and I cut it out using a new Framelit from the set called Tags & Labels.

Freshly Made Sketches About The Label

It has been a long time since I have participated in the Freshly Made Sketches card challenges so I thought I would try it again this week.  Here is this week’s sketch:

About The Label

For my card I used the Designer Series Paper called Gold Soiree.  It is a heavier weight paper that is also shiny and has beautiful colors including Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding and Gold.  I stamped the shopping bag from About The Label on Whisper White Paper for the bag part and on the Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper for the tissue paper part with Stazon.  Stazon is great when you want to color something with your regular markers because it does not smear.  The nice thing about the stamp set called About The Label is that some of the stamps match the Little Labels Punch Pack.  The sentiment is from Four You.

Watercooler Challenge Card #2

DSC02183The Watercooler Challenge for this is to CASE (Copy & Share Everything) a card from the new 2014/2015 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  For my card I chose to CASE the card on page 46 in the upper left corner.  When you CASE something, you can copy it exactly or you can use it for inspiration.  I took the basic layout of this card but added different stamps and colors.

I chose the stamp set called Flamingo Lingo.  This is the 2014/2105 Ronald McDonald stamp set.  Every y ear Stampin’ Up has one stamp set that when purchased a portion ($3) goes to the Ronald McDonald House Program.  I knew I had to buy it the minute I saw it.  Not only does it support a great organization, it also has the cutest Flamingo!  Who doesn’t like Flamingos?

Here is what the stamp set looks like:

I also used Bitty Banners Framelits, Petite Petals Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Petite Curly Label and Apothecary Accents Framelits.  All of these punches and Framelits have a matching stamp in this set.

Serene Silhouette Club Challenge

Every month I give my Club Members a card challenge to do.  Usually it is a layout but sometimes I do a color challenge too.  They seem to like it and it makes them use the products they buy.  This is the challenge I gave them for May.

Club Card May 2014-001

This month I decided to participate in the challenge myself.  Usually I don’t but I am not sure why.  Here is the card I made.

Serene Silhouettes, Express Yourself

The first thing you will notice is my Designer Series Paper strips are the opposite of the challenge.  I could say I did this on purpose but I have this little habit of making cards and then realizing I put the stamps or paper on the wrong side so it opens incorrectly.  Yes, I did it with this card too.  Luckily I realized it before I glued on the cardstock that has the flowers on it and the sentiment.  Of course, one of the best things about challenges is you don’t really have to follow it exactly so I could have just omitted telling you that and you would have never known!

Peaceful Petals & Freshly Made Sketches

DSC01840

This is my entry for Freshly Made Sketches #119.  I used a stamp set called Peaceful Petals that is in the 2013 Occasions Catalog.    I embossed it with Black Embossing Powder and then cut it out using the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch.  The background paper is called Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.  It is one of the few papers that uses Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White.

I can’t stress enough how easy it is to make a card when someone else has given you the layout.  All you need to do is change it to use your own stamps and papers.  You don’t have to enter any contests to use a sketch.  Sometimes I enter my card and sometimes I don’t.  It is just a great way to just get ideas to make my own card.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Paper Craft Crew #71 Challenge & More Sneak Peeks

This week has been a tough crafting week in my house.  Forget the season.  Everyone is busy with this holiday season buying gifts, wrapping, parties, making Christmas cards, cleaning the house (oh wait, that one still needs to be done), etc.  The worst part is I have had the flu for the last 5 days.  I am slowly feeling better but one of the things I seem to have lost is my creating mojo.  I have tried to make some cards but usually ended up staring at my things and giving up.  I threw a lot of things out too!

I decided I needed some help so I went online looking for challenges (what the heck did we ever do before the internet?).  The best part about challenges is they give you a layout and you just use your own product to make a card.  It makes life so much easier.  I liked this weeks Paper Craft Crew Challenge and decided to use it.

PCCC-71-100-001-600x428

Here is the card I made:

DSC01787

It uses a ton of new products that are coming out in the 2014 Occasions Catalog.  You are really going to love this catalog!  I want almost everything in it!  There are two stamp sets in this card.  One is called Perfect Pennants and the other is Petite Petals.  Petite Petals has a matching punch and you can buy both and save 15%.  The tag was made using another new punch called Scalloped Tag Topper and I even used new Designer Series Paper called Kaleidoscope!

The moral of this story is, if you need a little boost in your card creating, try doing a challenge.  It helps a lot!

Ok, now I am off to buy a Mega Millions ticket so I can actually purchase it all!

Freshly Made Sketches Christmas

DSC01377

Here is my entry for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the stamp set called Thoughts and Prayers and just used markers to color the leaves and flowers.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the stamp set called Greetings of the Season.  I love the font on this particular stamp.  Of course, I had to use Candy Dots.  I love, love, love them.  You still get the look of brads but no more punching and no more bulk when mailing your cards.  They stick very well on the card so they don’t fall off.  Plus they come in all the regular Stampin Up! colors (Brights, Regals, Subtles and Neutrals)!

Having A Tea Party With Fresh Made Sketches

Freshly Made Sketches

Freshly Made Sketches

For this week’s Freshly Made Sketches I used the new stamp set called Tea Party.  There are two morning drink sets in the new catalog.  One features coffee (it is called A Perfect Blend) and I have noticed that many of my coffee drinking friends have gotten this set.  I have never had a cup of coffee in my life but I do drink one cup of tea in the morning so I thought it was appropriate for me to get this set.  This “battle” between coffee and tea drinkers has been going on for a long time.  It is kind of like the Android versus Apple conflict.  Don’t ask what side of the fence I am in that argument, although most of you probably know already.  Just ask my husband, Rob!  For now, I won’t even go there!  I am sorry for my digression.

Anyway, here is this week’s Freshly Made Sketch.
