Stampin Up Cup Of Tea

This is the last set of cards we made at my stamp camp meeting a couple of weeks ago. I gave each of them a choice of the colors and the stamps they wanted to use. We used the suite called Tea Boutique. This suite includes the stamp set called Cup Of Tea, the coordinating Teacup Dies, Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper and the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes.

So let’s talk about the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes first. The pack includes twenty card bases that use the new InColors as a background. As a reminder, the new InColors include Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet, Starry Sky and Tahitian Tide. Each card base has a different design on it. For example, the Sweet Sorbet card bases have little white flowers. It also includes twenty coordinating envelopes. These cards and envelopes are great for making quick and easy cards because half the work is done for you.

To make these cards, I first cut out two pieces of Basic White card stock using the Scalloped Contours Dies and layered each one on one of the Sweet Sorbet card bases. Next, I cut out a Sweet Sorbet teacup using the Teacup Dies and the leaf part in Tahitian Tide and adhered them together using Multipurpose Glue. Then I cut out the Sweet Sorbet hearts. The Teacup Dies has two larger hearts and then one die cuts out three of the smaller hearts so you have the run the dies through your Cut & Emboss machine once instead of multiple times. I stamped the sentiment from the Cup Of Tea stamp set in Tahitian Tide ink, adhered the tea cup using Dimensionals and the hearts using Multipurpose Glue.

For the other card, I stamped the leaves in Parakeet Party ink and then the flowers in Tahitian Tide. Next, I stamped the sentiment also in Tahitian Tide ink. I stamped the striped tea cup in Sweet Sorbet, cut it out using the coordinating die and adhered it to the card using Dimensionals.

Both card were very quick and easy to make, yet I think they are both very pretty.

Let’s Set Sail

Stampin Up Let's Set Sail

This is the second card we made when my stamping friends came over to the cottage last week. We used the bundle called Let’s Set Sail. This bundle includes the stamp set of the same name and the Sailboat Builder Punch. The punch cuts out the boat with the mast and both sails. You can either stamp the boat and sails and then punch them out or you can just punch them from card stock (as we did in this case). If you use the bundle item number, you can save 10%.

First I ran a Merry Merlot card base through my Cut & Emboss machine using the Gingham Embossing Folder. It is not hard to do at all but you have to line up the folder carefully by placing it just a little bit over the center crease of the card base so that you don’t get a line on the front of your card.

Next, I took a 2.75″ x 4″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock and stamped the “water” stamp twice using Crumb Cake ink. I stamped it off first so it would be a little lighter on the card stock. Then, I stamped the boat shadow in Night Of Navy ink. I punched out the boat in Night Of Navy card stock and the sails in Basic White. I adhered the boat and the back sail using Multipurpose Glue and the front sail using Dimensionals. Next, I stamped the birds and the sentiment in Night Of Navy ink. Here is a little hint: it is hard to see if the birds are right side up just looking at the stamp so I suggest stamping it on scrap paper first. That way you won’t have crazy, drunk birds on your card. I layered this on a 3″ x 4.25″ piece of Basic White card stock and then onto the embossed card base.

Stampin Up Happiness Abounds

I was finally able to get the ladies from my old stamp camp over to the cottage for a little food, fun and stamping. It was so nice to see them again and we had a great time.

This is one of the cards we made that night. I used the Hues of Happiness Suite that is in the Stampin’ Up! 2022/2023 Annual Catalog. This suite includes the stamp set called Happiness Abounds, the coordinating dies called Blossoming Happiness, Hues Of Happiness Designer and Glossy Dots Assortment. You can order everything in the suite using one item number or you can order items separately. If you use the suite number or the bundle number you will save 10% on the stamps and dies.

One of the reasons I wanted this suite is because of the Designer Series Paper. It is gorgeous! One side has flower designs and the other side has some beautiful abstract colors. Plus the Blossoming Happiness dies coordinate with the DSP too because you can use the dies to cut out some of the leaves and flowers. In addition to this, the dies have some great extras. There is one die that cuts out a pattern and there are two dies that cut out straight lines of dots or dashes to make it look like you ripped the paper out of a notebook. Plus there are five great sentiments included in the stamp set.

This was a very easy card to make. I first layered a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of the Designer Paper on a Basic White card base. Next, I cut the design out of a 2.25″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock. See how the dies cut out some of the leaves and only partially cut out others? Next, I used the dies in the set to cut out the leaves and a flower. I adhered them to the card using Dimensionals. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a 1/2″ wide piece of Pool Party card stock.

I love how Stampin’ Up! does all the work and makes it so easy to create a beautiful card.

Sweet As A Peach

Stampin Up Sweet As A Peach

This is another card we made at our last stamp camp meeting. We used the You’re A Peach Suite that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. This suite includes the stamp set called Sweet As A Peach, the coordinating dies called Peach Dies (and you can save 10% if you purchase them in a bundle), You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and Mini Jam Jars (which are adorable!).

To make this card I first stamped the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink and cut them out using the coordinating die. I stamped the peach in Pale Papaya and then used a Stampin Write Marker to add a little bit of Calypso Coral on the edges. Then I cut them out using the die set too. I added a strip of the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper along the edge of the card and then a small strip of Balmy Blue over that. I used my Blending Brushes to add a bit of Balmy Blue to a 3.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Basic White cardstock and then layered the leaves over it. I attached the peaches using some Dimensionals. Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink.

Last week was another whirlwind of grandchildren at the cottage. This time my son, Zachary and his wife, Mary came with their two children. Emory (or Emy) is four years old and her brother Jackson is 10 months. Once again we had a great time swimming, boating and making lots of crafts. Emy and I made a couple of cards to send to her cousins too. She is a natural at it! Here is a picture of a very happy Jackson playing with a swim noodle and Movie Star Emy.

Floating Strips

Stampin Up Floating Strips

Last week I had a stamp camp at my cottage. This was one of the cards we made. It is called the Floating Strips technique. I saw it on the website called Splitcoaststampers and decided I wanted to try to make it and then thought why not make it at our monthly stamp meeting. It is very easy to so and you can get the directions right on the Splitcoaststampers website under the Tutorials tab.

To make this card I first cut a circle using the Layering Circle dies out of a Window Sheet. I used the largest circle die to do this which I think is about 3″. Then I cut strips of paper using Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. This paper can only be purchased as a Hostess Set but it is the best DSP for the price. There are 48 sheets in this pack. One side has bright colors and designs and the other side is all black and white designs. I cut one 1/2″ strip of the Crushed Curry DSP, two 3/8″ strips each of the Misty Moonlight and Granny Apple Green designs. I adhered this strips to the Circle of Window Sheet using Multipurpose Glue. I let that dry and them cut off the excess DSP that was around the circle.

After this I cut a piece of Basic White card stock using a die from the Penned Flowers set and adhered that to the top of the circle. Then I used Foam Adhesive Strips on the back of the circle making sure I placed them behind the Designer Series Paper so you could not see them. I then layered that onto a Basic White card base. I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink and added a few of the Elegant Faceted Gems. I decided to color one of the gems using my Misty Moonlight Dark Blends so you could see it better.

Perfectly Plaid & Heirloom Frames

This was one of the cards we made at our monthly stamping class. It uses two of my favorite products in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog.

First of all, let’s talk about that gorgeous frame around the sentiment. It was made using the Heirloom Dies and 3D Embossing Folders. One comes in the rectangle we used and there is also an oval frame. Both are just beautiful and really add a wow to your cards or projects. When I first tried these frames, I had a hard time lining them up. Then I saw a blog post by Patty Bennett that showed how easy it was. You first cut the shape out. Then take the middle piece and adhere it to the center of the embossing folder. I used Tear & Tape to adhere it. That way you can line it up perfectly every time. So easy! It looks like this.

Then all you do it have to line up the cut out frame with the inside, close the folder and run it through your die cutting or embossing machine.

It works perfectly every time.

After I cut out the frame I stamped the sentiment in Versamark on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was a little big bitter than the inside of the frame and embossed it using Gold Embossing Powder. Then I stamped the pine cone in Shaded Spruce Ink. I layered the frame on top using Stampin Dimensionals. I stamped the trees from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Shaded Spruce Ink and cut them out using the matching Pine Tree Punch. You can buy the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the Pine Tree Punch as a bundle and save 10%.

The background is a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that I embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder.

The ribbon is called Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8″ Striped Ribbon. The little sparkle of gold is gorgeous in person.

Stitched Stars Ornament

This is one of the projects we made at our monthly stamping class last week. You can either use it as an ornament or a tag for a gift. It was very easy to make and didn’t take long at all.

To make the star I used a set of new dies that are in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019 Holiday Catalog called Stitched Stars. These dies have a matching stamp set called So Many Stars and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. I didn’t use the stamp set on this project but we did use it on another that I will show you in the near future. It is appropriately called So Many Stars because the stamp set has 21 stamps and the die set has 23 dies!

I first cut a large star using Night Of Navy cardstock. Then I scored it five times as in the picture below. I drew the lines so you could see where to score easier. Then you just fold it on the score lines with the points being a mountain fold and in-between the points being a valley fold. This gives it a 3D look.

After I made the star I cut out the swirl using another one of the dies included in the Stitched Star set and Copper Foil Sheets. When you cut this out, it also cuts out various sizes of stars which I saved to add to the project. I adhered the swirl to a circle I cut out using the Stitched Shapes Dies. Then I mounted the Night Of Navy star using three Black Dimensionals on top of each other. I was so excited to see these in the Holiday Catalog. Sometimes the white Dimensionals show so the black are great.

Lastly I added a piece of White Baker’s Twine.

Butterfly Beauty

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting. We used the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies that are in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. Believe it or not, all these butterflies are made with one big die. Well, that is not true. This image was made with two big dies! One die does the background of the butterflies. I used Basic Black cardstock for that. The other die makes the front of the image. I used Calypso Coral for the front and then used my Clear Wink Of Stella to add a little sparkle to the butterflies. It is hard to see in the picture but the sparkle is just perfect.

The best way to adhere these dies are to use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets that are in the Annual Catalog. Normally you could use Multipurpose Glue but some of the areas are teeny tiny and it is hard to get just a little bit of glue on these areas. The Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets make it super easy.

I used a piece of Petal Pink cardstock that was embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Itty Bitty Birthdays. This stamp set is also in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. If you purchased the Butterfly Beauty Dies and this stamp set you can get something for free from the Sale-a-bration Catalog!

Tropical Chic

This is the third card we made at our monthly club meeting in December. It uses products from the Tropical Escape Suite that is in the 2018/2019 Annual Stampin’ Up!® Catalog. I love how Stampin’ Up! puts matching products together making it easier to buy things that match.

The stamp set called Tropical Chic and it has matching dies called Tropical Thinlits. You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. There is also Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper, ribbon, cardstock and embellishments in this Suite. I do have to say that the 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon is beautiful (even though we didn’t use it on this card).

To make this card I first cut out the leaf square in Whisper White cardstock and backed it with a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. Then I stamped the flower in Poppy Parade and cut that our using the matching die. The Granny Apple Green Leaf is also a die.

I haven’t shown you pictures of my grandchildren lately so I am sharing here.

Madelyn had a Christmas concert at school. All the children wore this shirt. They did a great job singing.

Here is Emy in her Christmas outfit. I think this is what she wore when they went to pick out their Christmas tree.

I think Nolan had a great time in the bubbles!

Barn Door

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting last week. It uses the stamp set called Barn Door that is in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. This stamp set has matching dies called Sliding Door Framelits. Normally this set is used as a slider card where the barn door slides back and forth. I actually made another card as a slider using these products and will show it to you soon but we did not make a slider with this card. Instead we made the barn doors open and this is what the inside looks like.

To make this card I first stamped two doors onto a piece of Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper using Gray Granite ink. This particular paper has the wood look to it so I thought was perfect to make barn doors out of. Then I cut them out using one of the dies in the set. I attached the doors to a piece of Gray Granite cardstock that is 9″ x 3 3.8″ that I scored at 2.25″ and 6.75. I put a 21″ piece of the Cherry Cobbler twine behind this and then adhered that to a 3 5/8″ x 4.75″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Inside the doors is a piece of 3″ x 4″ of Whisper White cardstock. The sign was stamped in Blueberry Bushel Ink and the flowers are in Crushed Curry. The door handles and the inside corner cuts were also made using dies that I cut out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The inside corner cuts are actually a square that I cut diagonally.
