Easy Fancy Flora DSP Cards

One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is that they sell beautiful Designer Series Paper.  The great thing is there are two different designs on each sheet.  Sometimes it is hard to decide which side to use.  The other great thing about their DSP is you can use it to create beautiful cards that are so easy to make.  Each of the cards I made took less than ten minutes.

To make the card above, I cut a 3.5″ x 4.75″ piece of Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper and layered it onto a 3.75″ x  5″ piece of Orchid Oasis card stock.  I wrapped a piece of Soft Sea Foam ribbon (retired) around it and layered it on a Soft Sea Foam card base.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Charming Sentiments using Orchid Oasis ink on Soft Sea Foam card stock and cut it out using the Deckled Rectangle Dies.  I adhered it to the card using Dimensionals.  Lastly, I added a couple of 2022-2024 InColor Matte Decorative Dots.

This card was even easier and faster to make than the first one.  I cut a 3.5″ x 4.75″ piece of Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper and layered it onto a 3.75″ x  5″ piece of Tahitian Tide card stock and a Starry Sky card base.  I cut out the sentiment using the Amazing Thanks dies and Tahitian Tide card stock.  Lastly, I added some Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Try these simple cards when you need something beautiful but you don’t have a lot of time.

Amazing Thanks

Stampin Up Amazing Thanks

Sometimes you just have to let the paper do the talking.  Stampin’ Up!® has the best Designer Series Paper.  There are so many packs to choose from and all of it is just gorgeous!  Plus, the colors are so beautiful and they all go together so it takes the guesswork out of trying to figure out what color goes with what.  Pretty Prints is one of the packs of Designer Series Papers in the 2022/2023 Annual Catalog.  It has these beautiful designs on the front and back of each sheet.  The sheet I chose uses Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Sweet Sorbet.

To make this card I first cut a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of the Pretty Prints DSP.  At first, I was just going to adhere it to a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Petal Pink card stock but I decided to wrap a piece of white Baker’s Twine around it to give it a little interest.  Then I adhered it to the Petal Pink card stock and a Calypso Coral card base.

Next, I cut a tag out in Petal Pink card stock using the Tailor Made Tags dies.  I cut the sentiment out of Calypso Coral card stock from the Amazing Thanks die set and adhered them to the tag.  I tied a bow out of some more Baker’s Twine and tied it to the tag and then adhered it to the card.  I just realized I did not use a stamp at all.  It was just totally dies.

Cottage Wreaths

Stampin Up Cottage Wreaths

Last weekend we took my son, David, Brittany and their children on a boat ride.  It was the first day that they came to visit when it wasn’t super windy and rough so it was a good day to take my grandchildren on the boat.  Olivia is three years old and full of smiles and sass (as every three year old can be).  Madison is almost eight months old and is the sweetest baby.  When most babies are happy they smile and coo.  Madison smiles and screeches.  It is the funniest thing.  Olivia loved the boat and had a huge smile on her face the whole time.  Madison pretty much slept through the whole ride.  Afterward, we all went for a swim in the lake.  We bought one of those floating mats and the kids love it.

This is a fun card I made using only dies (no stamps).  It was pretty simple to make and did not take a long time at all.  I first cut a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a Flirty Flamingo card base. Then I took the Country Wreaths die set and cut one wreath in Basic White card stock and another in the Hues Of Happiness DSP.  I layered these on top of each other and onto the card.   I cut the bow out of the same DSP and layered that on the wreath.  Lastly, I cut the sentiment out using the Amazing Thanks die set.

Here are some photos from last weekend’s boat ride.

Sun Prints

Stampin Up Sun Prints

We had a crazy Memorial Day weekend at the cottage.  All our neighbors came with their kids, grandkids and lots of dogs.  The weather was gorgeous and there was lots of good food and beverages all weekend long.  One of the best parts was I managed to get down the shore wall, sit in a chair and put my feet in the water.  I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do that with my foot but I had lots of helpers and it made the weekend great!  It’s the little things!

Stampin’ Up!® makes the most beautiful Designer Series Paper that sometimes you just have to let it do the talking.  There are eleven different 12″ x 12″ papers to choose from and four different 6″ x 6″ papers.  Each one is very different from the rest yet so beautiful.  I decided to use the Sun Prints 12″ x 12″ DSP for my card.

To make this card I took a 3.5″ x 4.5″ piece of the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper and cut it at a diagonal using my Paper Trimmer.  To make things easier I cut a 3.75″ x 5″ piece of Basic White card stock and adhered the strips of DSP to it.  That way I was able to line it up much quicker than trying to figure it out on a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base.  Then I adhered that to the card base.

Next I cut out the words “thanks” and “you” twice from the die set called Amazing Thanks.  I like cutting them out twice and gluing them together.  It gives it a little more depth.  Next I cut off the “s” on thanks and adhered both words to the DSP.  It was a super quick card to make but the Designer Series Paper background makes it look more complicated.

The July – December Mini Catalog will be coming out on July 1st.  You are going to love it.  There are so many suites and bundles available that you are bound to love at least one or twelve of them.  Then to top it all off, it will also be Sale-a-bration where you can earn free products with a qualifying order.   If you placed a $50 order during the previous year, you should get one sometime in June so look for that in the mail.

On a side note, if you want to place an order using my Host Code, all you need to do is click on the box below or the one on the right side of my blog and it will take you to my Stampin’ Up!® website where you can order.  It also fills in the Host Code automatically for you!  Easy as pie!

Wisteria Wishes

Stampin Up Wisteria Wishes

We have settled in nicely to cottage life.  Usually we take two days to drive here because it takes 14 hours but when we tried to find an hotel when we were ready to stop, there were none to be found.  Apparently it was college graduation weekend everywhere!  We ended up getting here around 9:30 PM, unpacked the car of essentials and then went to bed.  It was a long day but waking up at the cottage is always such a nice thing.  We got out of bed the next morning and looked out the window and there is the lake.  It was peaceful, calm and beautiful.

Later in the day, my son David and his wife, Brittany came to visit with their two children, Olivia and Madison.  Olivia is going to be 3 this week and Madison is six months old.  We had such fun seeing them again.  Olivia is very sweet and very active and Madison is just adorable.

Back to card making (although grands are much more fun!).

I used the stamp set called Wisteria Wishes to make this card.  This stamp set has coordinating dies called Wisteria but I did not use them on this card.  You can purchase the stamp set and the dies in a bundle and save 10%.  I am not sure if I ever explained this before but when a bundle is available it has a specific item number that is for the bundle.  If you use the item number for the stamp set and a different item number for the dies, you will not get the bundle price.

This was a very simple card to make.  I first stamped the Wisteria flowers twice using Pale Papaya ink.  Then I stamped the leaves twice using Parakeet Party (one of the new InColors).  I used the die set called Amazing Thanks to cut out the sentiment.  I cut out the Basic White layer twice and adhered them together. I love how it gives it more dimension when you do this.  I used Fresh Freesia for the thanks.  I felt like it needed something else and I could not find a tiny butterfly in any current sets so I pulled out a very old stamp set called Itty Bitties to stamp the tiny butterflies.  I layered this on a piece of Pale Papaya card stock and a Fresh Freesia card base.

Bottled Happiness

Stampin Up Bottled Happiness

Tomorrow is a BIG day in the Stampin’ Up!® world!  The new 2022/2023 Annual Catalog begins and I can not wait.  As a Demonstrator I was able to order a few of the products in this catalog but there are so many more I want.  My list is very, very long!

One of the products I could order was the Bottled Happiness Bundle.  This bundle includes the stamp set of the same name and the Vintage Bottle Punch.  If you order both of these items using the bundle item number, you can save 10%.  To be honest, I did not purchase the Bottled Happiness stamp set.  I signed up for a online zoom meeting called OnTour with Stampin’ Up!® and they sent me this stamp set as part of the registration.  I was happy to receive it since it was on my list anyway.  Therefore, all I had to do was order the coordinating punch.

To make this card, I first stamped the flowers in Pale Papaya ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. Then I stamped the leaves in Granny Apple Green.  I love that the flowers and the leaves are two different stamps making it easier to use two different colors.  Yes, you can color a stamp using multiple colors but putting ink on a stamp using an ink pad is a lot easier.  After I stamped the leaves and flowers I stamped the bottle in Balmy Blue ink.  The Vintage Bottle Punch can be used with the taller bottle in the set.  I layered this on top of a piece of Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green card stock.

After this, I cut out the word “thanks” using the Amazing Thanks dies in Granny Apple Green card stock and adhered it to the card using Multipurpose Glue.  A liquid glue is much easier to adhere small or thin items.  Lastly I ran a Basic White card base through my Cut & Emboss Machine using the Painted Texture 3D embossing Folder.  I thought it made it look like the flowers were a piece of art hanging on a stucco wall.

Lastly I added some Elegant Faceted Gems to the centers of some of the flowers.

I am not allowed to post links before the catalog goes live.  I will try to post them tomorrow.

On a side note, today is my eldest son, David’s birthday.  David is an amazing man.  He is one of the most generous people I know.  He has a beautiful wife and two adorable girls.  I am very, very proud of him.  Happy birthday, Big Guy!

Amazing Thanks

Stampin Up Amazing Thanks

I think Mother Nature is very confused this spring.  One day it is 47 degrees and the next it is 75!  Spring is trying to push through the cold weather but that winter just doesn’t want to quite give up and pushes spring back.  I guess the only saving grace is it has not snowed here in Nashville for awhile.  Of course, now that I said that, it will probably snow tomorrow!

I am hoping by posting a springy/summery card, winter will go away and let us enjoy warmer weather.  The New Horizons Designer Series Paper is perfect for that.  This DSP is my all time favorite.  You can make the most beautiful cards using this Designer Series Paper without adding much to it.  Unfortunately, this paper will be retiring at the end of the January – June Mini Catalog period (June 30th).  This is one of those products that I will hoard and keep forever.

I decided to use the New Horizons DSP to make a Triple Layer card.  To make it I first used the largest Stitched Rectangle die to cut the background layer.  Then I took two smaller ones and cut out the center of the largest die cut into a total of three pieces.  I adhered the biggest one to an Evening Evergreen card base.  Then I adhered the smaller pieces to a slightly larger Evening Evergreen piece and layered them all on top.

Next I cut out the background of the word “thanks” three times in Basic White card stock and adhered them together using Multipurpose Glue.  I like how it looks thicker on the card but doesn’t add a lot of bulk.  Then I cut the word “thanks” out of Evening Evergreen card stock and glued that to the Basic White background.  Thankfully, the Amazing Thanks dies will be available in the next catalog.  It was a quick and easy card to make but the Triple Layer adds some interest to it.

Don’t forget that May 2nd is the last day to order from the 2021/2022 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  Then, on May 3rd the 2022/2023 Annual Catalog starts.  If you are a customer of mine who ordered a minimum of $50 from me, you should have received a copy of the new catalog in the mail.  If you did not order that much or if you are a new customer, I would be happy to send you a new catalog in the mail for the cost of shipping or you are welcome to come pick one up.

Sweet Strawberry

Stampin Up Sweet Strawberry

There are so many great stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  I forget about them sometimes whenever a new catalog comes out because I love using the new products.  I have to remind myself to use the older, but just as wonderful products in the Annual Catalog too.

One of the bundles I love is Sweet Strawberry.  This bundle includes the stamp set of the same name and the Strawberry Builder Punch.  If you purchase them in a bundle you can save 10%.  The punch cuts out the strawberries as well as the flowers, stem and leaf in the stamp set.  I love dies but punches can be a whole lot easier sometimes.

To make this card I first stamped the three strawberries in Poppy Parade ink and punched them out.  Then I stamped three stems in Granny Apple Green Ink and also punched them out.  Next I stamped the background in Granny Apple Green Ink and layered the strawberries on top.

I used a set of dies that are in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog called Amazing Thanks.  These dies are so much fun because they cut out four words (you, are amazing, thanks) AND they just o\cut the background or shadow of the words.  In this case, I cut out the word, thanks in Basic White card stock and the shadow in Poppy Parade.

Lastly I colored some Elegant Faceted Gems using my Dark Poppy Parade Blends and scattered them on the card.

This week my granddaughter, Emory Jade (Emy) had a birthday!  I know everyone says this but I just can not believe how quickly children grow up.  Emy is five going on 16.  She is sweet and sassy and just full of energy.  Happy birthday, Emy.

Daffodil Daydream

Stampin Up Daffodil Daydream

Today is the last day for Sale-a-bration where you can get products for FREE with a qualifying order.  One of the products you can get is the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper.  This paper pack is 12″ x 12″.  There are twelve sheets in the pack and they coordinate with the Daffodil Daydream Bundle that is in the Stampin’ Up!®  2022 January – June Mini Catalog.  One side of the paper has daffodils all over them and the other side has fun patterns.

I decided to use the Daffodil Afternoon DSP as a background for the gorgeous Daffodil Dies in the Mini Catalog.  I layered a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of it on a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock and then a Very Vanilla card base.  Then I started cutting out the daffodil pieces.  At first I thought the process of building the daffodils would be difficult but it was actually very easy once I figured out what pieces went with what.  I cut the backgrounds of the flowers using Bumble Bee card stock and the front using Daffodil Delight (of course).  I adhered them together using Multipurpose Glue.  Then I cut the stems and leaves in Just Jade.  I adhered them to the card using the glue and the daffodil flowers using Dimensionals.

At first I was going to stamp a sentiment and lay it across the flowers but I changed my mind and decided to use the Amazing Thanks dies.  I love how these dies layer together so that you have the word and then a background for the word.  There are four words in this set.  One is the “Thanks” that I used and the rest are “You”, “Are”, and “Amazing”.  These dies are part of the Amazing Silhouettes bundle in the Mini Catalog too.  I cut the background of the sentiment in Bumble Bee card stock and the front in Very Vanilla card stock and layered them on top of the stems using glue.

Remember, today is your last chance to get some free Sale-a-bration products.  With a $50 or $100 order you can get a choice of free stamp sets or Designer Series Paper.  There is no limit to how many products you can earn.  Tomorrow all of them will be gone for good so don’t miss out!

One of the things I love best about being a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator is I get to order new products before they are available to anyone else. I am not a patient person so I would go crazy if I saw photos of new products and I could not purchase them yet. The other thing I love about being a Demonstrator is I get to earn products for free. Amazing Silhouettes is a new stamp set that is in the January – December Mini Catalog. I got this set for free by attending a virtual Stampin’ Up!® event. This stamp set has coordinating dies called Amazing Thanks that are all sentiments and a background for those sentiment. I was also able to order almost anything in the new Mini Catalog that will be out in January so I will have some more sneak peeks for you later.

Amazing Silhouettes

This was a super easy card to make. I first stamped the tree silhouette in Fresh Freesia ink onto a piece of Basic White card stock. That is all the stamping I did. The stamp itself actually stamps only the background and leaves the tree blank. Then I cut out the sentiment in Basic White cardstock and the background of the sentiment in Night Of Navy card stock and layered them together. This is simple but very pretty, don’t you think?

I won’t be able to put links at the bottom of this page since these products are not available yet. The new catalog beings January 4th!

Madison Emily

The other thing I wanted to do in this post is to introduce you to my newest granddaughter. Her name is Madison Emily and she was born on Veteran’s Day. She was four+ weeks early so she had to spend some time in the NICU but she is doing great now and got to go home after a couple of weeks. Madison is grandchild number six for us!
