Something For Baby Emory

If you read my blog you already know that I just had another granddaughter named Emory.  A couple of weeks ago we went down to meet her.  As a grandmother, can I just say, she is one of the cutest babies.  When I was there she was sleeping pretty well so that her parents got a few hours sleep in between feedings.  After I left, Emory started giving her parents a hard time.  Of course, I think it is because she misses me.  Her parents just roll their eyes.

I made this card with Emory in mind.  Her parents decorated her room in coral colors so I thought it was appropriate to make a card using Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride.  I used the stamp set called Something For Baby.  It has a set of matching Framelits called Baby’s First.  This is one of those sets that you will keep forever.  Babies are always being born and it will never go out of style.

Celebrate You Today

Celebrate Today, Balloon Framelits

Spring is the time of year when most of my family (except me) have birthdays.  March, April, May and June are packed!  The Celebrate Today stamp set that is in the 2015 Occasions Catalog is perfect to use to make birthday cards.  I mean, who doesn’t like balloons?!  The stamp set has matching Framelits called Balloon Framelits Dies and you can save 15% when you buy both in a bundle.

Celebrate Today comes in Photopolymer so it was easy to line up the “happy” stamp.  Photopolymer stamps are clear.  You just ink them up and stamp perfectly every time!

Do you think I can use this one card for every one?  Happy Birthday Katherine, Gwen, Laura, Emma, Rob, Sam, Steve, David, Zachary, Mom, Karen, Dorothy, Caitlin, Tara and Pancakes (sorry if I forgot anyone)!

Celebrate Today Club Card

Celebrate Today

This is the third card we made at our monthly club meeting.  First of all, not to make anyone feel bad, but one of my club members dropped the card in a Bermuda Bay ink pad and it left that line so just try to ignore that that line is not there.  These things happen and it is no big deal.  I can give the card to my mother because no matter what I make for her, she loves all my cards!  Mothers are great, aren’t they?

At our last meeting I showed the members how to use sponges to apply color.  This time I wanted to show them how to use the sponge daubers.  We used the star mask from the Hearts & Stars Decorative Masks pack.  It is very easy to do.  You take a piece of medical taps, which works great because it does not stick to the cardstock when you remove it) to hold down a piece of cardstock and the mask.  You just pat the sponge dauber into an ink pad and pat it onto the mask.  It makes a very cute background.  We only used Bermuda Bay but you could use different colors if you want to.

3D Celebrate Today

Celebrate Today

The Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando in January has a couple of General Sessions every day where they demonstrate different ideas and techniques to everyone.  This one is actually an old one that I had forgotten about but the Conference showed a card using it again.   I used it a few years ago with some Ornament Framelits.

You cut out six balloons using the Balloon Framelits, fold them in half and adhere them to each other using Fast Fuse (or another strong adhesive).  I used the Designer Series Paper called Birthday Bash which is in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  It makes a fun 3D card.  I also used the stamp set called Celebrate Today.  This set matches the Balloon Framelits and you can save 15% by buying both.

The Designer Series Paper is called Stacked With Love and is also in the Occasions Catalog.  This paper is black and white on one side and the other side uses the colors Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Real Red.  It is great for Valentine’s Day too!

Celebrate Today Embossed Balloons

Celebrate Today, Balloon Framelits

Here is a fun birthday card I made using the stamp set called Celebrate Today.  It has a set of matching Framelits called Balloon Framelits.  You can save 15% by buying them in a Bundle!  Both of these items are in the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  I embossed the balloons using Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral Embossing Powder.  First you stamp the polka dots with Versamark and then sprinkle the embossing powder over it.  Tap off the excess and heat with your Heat Tool.  Then I cut them out using the Balloon Framelits.

Celebrate Today With Washi Sheets

Celebrate Today, Washi Sheets

Stampin’ Up! has a new product in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  It is called Birthday Bash Designer Washi Sheets and they are awesome.  There are the same material as Washi Tape only they come in 6″ by 12″ sheets so you can use your Framelits, Thinlits, Punches or other dies to cut them out into any shape.  I used the Balloon Framelits to cut them out.  I do need to say, that they are thin, like Washi Tape so they are see through.  I had to back the Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay balloons with Whisper White card stock.  I just cut a piece of the Washi Sheets, layered it on the card stock and cut them both out at the same time.  That way you don’t have to try to line them up afterwards.

The stamp set I used is called Celebrate Today and is also in the 2015 Occasions Catalogs.  It is a 17 piece stamp set in Photopolymer so everything is easy to line up.
