Botanical Builder Framelits

Botanical Builder, Watercolor Wishes, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

This is a fun card that requires very little stamping.  The only thing I actually stamped was the “Thanks” from the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.  That is one of the nice things about kits.  You put all the cards together (there are 20 in this kit) but you still have the stamps to use forever.  This particular sets of stamps has a great font that looks like handwriting.  I use it quite a bit.

The flowers and the leaves are from the set of Framelits called Botanical Builder.  It does have a matching set of stamps called Botanical Blooms but I didn’t actually use them on this card.

Botanical Builder Thank You

Botanical Builders, Watercolor Wishes

This is the second card I made for my sister’s awesome birthday present.  If you missed this story I talked about it in yesterday’s post.  To recap, my sisters and I went to South Carolina to visit my mother.  We went shopping and they bought me a gorgeous early birthday present.

I used the Botanical Builders Framelits to make this card.  I love this set of Framelits mostly because of the leaf cut out.  I think it is very pretty.  The sentiment is from the card kit called Watercolor Wishes.  That is the great thing about kits.  After you have made all the cards in the kit, you still get to use the stamps and ink spots that come with it.  It is a great value especially for a new stamper.

A Tic Tac Toe Stamp Off

Stamp Off New Logo

First of all I need to say Happy Birthday to my Mom today!  She is 91 and has more energy than I do!

Now, back to business.  It is that time again for another Stamp Off!  This time we are following a Tic, Tac, Toe board.  You can make a card using the items in any row or diagonal.  Here is the board:

April 2016 tic tac toe-2

I decided to make a card using the middle row (Framelit or Thinlit, White Perfect Accents and Flower).  I just happen to have a package of White Accents that I forgot about.  It was a great reminder to get them out and use them (instead of hoarder as usual).  Here is my card:

Botanical Builder Framelits

Ok, so I have to admit I did cheat a bit and added an Embossing Folder to my card.  Honestly, I am not sure if that is considered actually cheating since it didn’t say whether or not I could use other items too.  That is one of the great things about BS & J Productions.  There are no hard rules to follow. The other members (Buffy & Jackie) don’t care if you cheat a little or change things up.

Now let’s all go check out their web sites to see what they made using this board.  You can go to Buffy’s blog by clicking HERE and Jackie’s blog by clicking HERE.

Using DSP Part II

A Nice Cuppa, Botanical Builders

Yesterday I showed you a very simple card to make that used Designed Series Paper with no stamping in my attempt to stop hoarding it.  Of course, I had to use the other piece I cut out so I made another card.  This time I did do some stamping using a stamp set from the 2016 Occasions Catalog called A Nice Cuppa.  It is a cute stamp set that is all about tea.  I decided it needed a little splash of color so I added the flower from the Botanical Builders Framelits.  I hope these cards have inspired you to stop hoarding your paper and start using it!

Botanical Builder

When I made this card using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies, it made me think of Hawaii.  I don’t know why, but it just does.  Maybe it is the colors.  Maybe it is the flowers themselves.  In any case, Hawaii is someplace I would love to go visit.  It is supposed to be a tropical paradise and is definitely on my bucket list.  I have read that it is always sunny and warm there and right now I could use some sunny, warm weather.  It has been miserable here.  Yesterday we had freezing, pouring rain and today is very dreary.  Who wants to move to Hawaii with me??

Botanical Builder Framelits

Botanical Builders, Rose Wonder

I absolutely love this set of Framelits called Botanical Builders.  It is in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  The reason I love this set is because of the leaf die that goes across the page.  I just think it is beautiful.  This set of Framelits also has a set of matching stamps called Botanical Blooms and some matching Designer Series Paper called Botanical Gardens  and you can get a 15% discount by buying all three items in a bundle.  The best part of that is you can get something free some the 2016 Sale-a-bration catalog if you buy that bundle!!

I actually didn’t use the matching stamps for this card.  Instead I used a sentiment from another stamp set that is in the 2016 Occasions Catalog called Rose Wonder.  That set has some beautiful sentiments in it that can be used for sympathy cards.

Botanical Builder Framelits

Botanical Builders Framelits, Greetings Thinlits

I made this card using a color combination that I found on Pinterest.  It said to use Mint Macaron, Whisper White and Basic Black.  Then, at the same time, I saw a sketch challenge I liked so I decided to put the color challenge and the sketch challenge together.  After I made it, I realized it looked a little boring so I added the It’s My Party Enamel Dots just to add a little pop of color.  It is too bad I can’t remember where either of them were from or I might have entered the card (or maybe not).  I would at least give credit to whomever made both challenges.

The flowers are from the Botanical Builders Framelits that are in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  It is a fun set that has matching stamps called Botanical Blooms, although I didn’t use the stamps on this card.  The sentiment is a set of Thinlits called Greeting and is in the Annual Catalog.

If you buy the bundle that has the stamps and framelits in it, you would not only get the matching Designer Series Paper for $1.75 (an $11 value) plus you could pick something for free from the Sale-a-bration catalog!

Botanical Builder Thinlits

Botanical Buider Framelits, Perfect Pairings

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly Stamp Club.  It uses a new set of Thinlits from the 2016 Occasions Catalog called Botanical Builders.  Although, I did not use it, there is a matching stamp set called Botanical Blooms and you can save 15% by buying both in a bundle.  Even better, if you buy this bundle you can choose a free item from the 2016 Sale-A-Bration Catalog!  As you can see, I got the stamp set called Perfect Pairings (the sentiment is from this set).

My favorite die in the set Botanical Builders Thinlits is the leaf that goes across the card. I think it really makes a card look elegant.
