One Sheet Wonder

Hello everyone.  It is time again for another BS & J Productions Challenge.  This time our challenge is to use the technique called One Sheet Wonder.  This is where you make a bunch of different cards using one sheet of Designer Series Paper.  We all know how hard it is to cut that beautiful DSP so this is a great way for you to do it.

I cut mine a little differently than the original picture (but for some reason the original picture is not showing up on my blog this morning so I deleted it) but that is the great thing about Jackie and Buffy.  It is ok to change things up a bit.  This was the way I cut my DSP:

Here are my cards:

The Designer Series Paper I used is the 2018-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ paper in Lovely Lipstick. The rest of the colors I used were also In Colors (Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel). Each of the cards use the stamp set called Bloom By Bloom.  This set is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  It has matching punches called Bitty Blossoms Punch Pack and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Bloom By Bloom doesn’t have any sentiments so I used some from various sets.  They were Birthday Cheer, Life Is Grand, and Itty Bitty Birthdays. I cut the various flowers out using a variety of dies such as Stitched Shapes and Rectangle Stitched Dies.

Now let’s go see what beautiful creations Buffy and Jackie made.  I am sure we will all be delighted!

Piece Of Cake

After a long hiatus, Stampin’ Up! finally has the Cake Builder Punch back in stock.  I made this card months ago thinking I could post it but the punch was so popular that it ran out of stock quickly so I decided to wait before posting it.  I am so glad it is back.  I love this punch and the matching stamp set called Piece Of Cake and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Both of these items are in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and I am happy to say they are going to be carried over into the 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  Ok, I have to stop right there for a moment. Can you believe it is going to 2020 next year??  It is kind of crazy how fast time really does go!

In any case, to make this card I first stamped the middle cake and cake stand onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then cut it out using the Layering Ovals Dies.   I layered that onto another piece I cut out using the same dies (only a bigger size) out of Pool Party cardstock.  I colored those using my Pool Party and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.  Then I stamped the two other cakes, punched them out using the Cake Builder Punch, colored them with my Blends and adhered them to the oval using Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a die from Bunch Of Banners Framelits.

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Gingham Gala.

A Snow Is Glistening Wreath

Tomorrow is the last day you can purchase the Snowfall limited time only products.  This suite includes two stamp sets called Snow Is Glistening and Happiness Surrounds and a set of Dies called Snowfall Thinlits.  I must say this group of products is one of my favorites ever.  Who doesn’t love snowflakes and there are a ton of them in this suite.  Plus, it can be used at other times of the year because of the stamp set called Happiness Surrounds.

The colors I used in this card are Blueberry Bliss and Balmy Blue.  I used a stencil I made and my Stamparatus to stamp the larger snowflakes and then I just filled in with the smaller ones.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Santa’s Sleigh.  The original stamp has “Merry Christmas Wishes”.  I covered the word “wishes’ with tape, inked the stamp and then removed the tape so only the “Merry Christmas” stamped.  The banner is from Banners For You and then was cut out using the Bunch Of Banners Framelits.

Don’t forget tomorrow is the last day to order these products.  I’ve listed them in the links below.  Don’t miss out because they will be gone for good.

Party Pandas

Today is my friend, Lynette’s birthday.  I had no doubt about which stamp set I would use to make her a card.  Lynette is fun, spunky, enthusiastic, a little crazy (sorry Lynette) and just great to have around.  She is part of my stamp club and she always makes it fun.  I knew she would love the stamp set called Party Pandas the second I saw it.  Lynette loves the pigs and she loved the chicken set so there was no doubt she would love this one.

The best part about Party Pandas is it is one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets that you can get for FREE with a qualifying order.  Place an order of $50 or more and you can choose this set in wood mount or clear mount.  It has three cute little pandas and a couple of sentiments to go with them.

The Designer Series Paper I used for her card is called Picture Perfect Party and is in the 2018 Occasions catalog.  One side of this paper has photographs of things like balloons and bows and the other side has fun patterns.  I added the Tutti-fruitti Adhesive Backed Sequins to make it look like the Panda was juggling.  I saw Patty Bennett use the Enamel Dots this way and thought it was cute.

Happy Birthday, Lynette.  I hope you have a really fun day!

2018 Sale-A-Bration Catalog Sneak Peek

Sale-a-bration will be here before you know it!  Sale-a-bration (or SAB) is the time of year when Stampin’ Up! gives you product for free with a qualifying order.  It starts January 3, 2018 and it is always a very exciting time of year in the stampin’ world.

I used the stamp set called Lots Of Lavender to make this card.  This is one of the stamp sets you can get for free this year.  It is a two-step stamp set which means it takes two or more stamps to make one image.  This set has eleven Photopolymer stamps in it which makes it really easy to do the two step stamped images.

If you look closely you will also see a sneak peek of a product that is in the 2018 Occasions Catalog too.  It is the sequins.  Now, Stampin’ Up! already has sequins in their product line but these are different than normal sequins.  They are adhesive backed which means you just stick them on without additional adhesive.  That is so awesome and they are so much easier to use.  They come in five different colors (Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie and yellow).

How did I get these great products before the catalogs go live?  Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators can pre-order a month earlier than customers so I got to order things on December 1st.  That is one of my favorite things about being a Demonstrator.  If you are interested in joining just click on the Join Now button to the right of this blog.  By the way, if you wait until January 3rd to join you get $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS you get to pick two additional stamp sets from any of the catalogs!

Remember, you can’t get Lots Of Lavender and the adhesive backed sequins until January 3rd!  If you would like a 2018 Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalog just let me know!

Bike Ride

Many years ago I worked for a company that owned a Bike Shop.  This was back when you could buy a Huffy at Kmart or a Schwinn at a local bike shop.  Of course, I was a bike snob because of working there.  We had one mechanic that was amazing.  Dennis rarely spoke to anyone but he could put a bike together or fix a bike in no time at all.  One day I asked him if he would teach me how to put a bike together.  Amazingly enough, he agreed to teach me.  Now normally it would take a couple of hours for him to put one together.  It took me all day!  You would not believe how many parts there are to a bicycle!  Believe me, when you first open that box there are parts everywhere!  Very little comes put together.  Dennis was great and so patient.  He didn’t even swear once though I think his eyeballs could have fallen out of his sockets from all the eye rolls he did!  Of course, I could never do it now but it was fun to do, once, back then.

Bike Ride is one of those fun stamp sets that you can do a lot with.  The set has 24 different Photopolymer stamps which include the bike, wheels, flowers, a basket, books, apples and even a dog.  It is a two step stamp set which means it take two or more stamps to make an image.  It is super easy to line up because they stamp are Photopolymer which means you can see through them.  It is a lot easier to put this bike together than a real one!  Plus, to top it all off, this stamp set has matching Framelits called Build A Bike which include 15 dies.  If you buy them in a Bundle you can save 10%.  That is a lot of bang for your buck!

The banner is from Bunch Of Banners Framelits Dies and sentiment is from Banners For You.  These two items also coordinate together.

Beautiful Bouquet

This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting last week.  I do need to say that my stamp ladies are the best!  They are such fun to get together with and we all get along really well.  It is such a great group!  I love them all!

We used the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet to make this card.  This stamp set has matching Framelits called Bouquet Bunch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I know I say that a lot  but Stampin’ Up! really has a ton of stamp sets that do have matching dies and they always offer 10% off if you buy them together in a Bundle the first year they appear.  I probably own all of them!

The banner and sentiment are from the stamp set called Birthday Banners and the Framelits are called Bunch of Banners.

Birthday Banners Candles

Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is to make a card using the Ombre technique.

As you know the Stampin’ Up! 2017/2018 Annual Catalog starts on June 1st.  As a Demonstrator we were able to purchase a select variety of items from that catalog.  One of the items was ombre Designer Series Paper called Color Theory.  I decided that there was a good chance that Buffy and Jackie would use that Designer Series Paper so I decided to do something different.

I used the stamp set called Birthday Banners to make this card.  I know it is not exactly ombre but I thought it was close enough.  I stamped the candles using Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and So Saffron.  Birthday Banners is a great set because it goes with so many other products.  It matches the Balloon Bouquet Punch and the Bunch Of Banners Framelits Dies.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made.  Do you think they used the new Designer Series Paper?  Wouldn’t it be funny if we all thought the same thing and no one used it at all?  No worries though.  You will see it soon enough!

A Window Box Thinlits Card

One of the great things I love about Stampin’ Up! is how versatile their products are.  You can mix and match stamp sets, dies and colors.  Everything coordinates so you don’t have to guess what goes with what.

I used a die set on this card called Window Box Thinlits.  Now, as you can see, I didn’t make a box with it but instead I used a couple of the other dies in this set to make a card.  The candles and the polka dot squares were cut using these dies.

The banner is from Birthday Banners, Banners For You and Bunches of Banners Framelits Dies.  You can save 10% by purchasing the Banners For You stamp set and Bunches of Banners Framelits in a Bundle until May 31st.  After that, the Bundle price goes away.

The best part of this card is all the stamp sets and dies are being carried over to the new Annual Catalog!

Nailed It

Nailed It, Build It, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

I made this card using a new stamp set from the 2017 Occasions Catalog called Nailed It.  It was one of those sets that didn’t catch my eye right away but the more I looked at it, the more I decided I had to have it.  I think what happened is it has a Happy Fathers Day stamp in it and since I don’t have any fathers left I didn’t think I needed it.  The thing is, it makes a great man card.  All the tools and the sentiments are perfect for that.

The other nice thing about this stamp set is it has a set of matching Framelits called Build It.  Ya gotta love any stamp set that has matching Framelits!

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase! Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order)! Join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $104)!!
