Seriously The Best

Seriously The Best is another stamp set that will be retiring on June 2nd.  This is definitely a stamp set that I will be keeping forever.  You may not see it on my blog but I will use it a lot.  It is in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog and goes with one of the kits also called Seriously The Best.  It has three very large sentiments, three small sentiments and a couple of other images included in it.  I love, love love the large sentiments.

I decided to pair this stamp set with another stamp set that is in the Mini Catalog called Forever Blossoms.  This stamp set has matching dies called Cherry Blossom dies and until June 2nd you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  After that, both products will still be available in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog but you won’t be able to get the bundle discount.

To make this card I first adhered a piece of the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper onto a piece of Petal Pink cardstock and then adhered that to a Whisper White card base.  This DSP will be retiring on June 2nd.  Then I stamped the flowers and leaves in Memento Black Ink and colored them with Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow Stampin Blends.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink and cut that out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I love those dies and I am happy to say they will be carrying over into the next catalog.  I added a piece of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon and a few of the Champagne Rhinestones to add a little sparkle.

Moving Update:  They movers arrived Thursday late to look over the house and then spent all day Friday and half of Saturday loading the truck.  I don’t know how they do it!  One of them picks up my dining room table and walks out of the house with it and into the truck by himself!  Kind of crazy! They should arrive in Nashville on Tuesday when we get to unpack everything we packed.  I have to say, this is the last time I am going to move!

In the meantime, I needed some lunch.  I found a Lean Cuisine in the back freezer and stuck it in the microwave.  When I took it out, I realized I had no silverware.  It was all packed up!  I had to improvise.

Yep.  I found a paper plate, tore it in pieces and used that as a spoon!  It was either that or one of those razor blade box openers.  I figured the plate was safer.  I am getting smarter in my old age!

Cherry Blossom Dies

No one ever wants to make a sympathy card but things happen and, unfortunately it becomes necessary.  You wouldn’t think that sending someone a card would be a big thing when they are grieving a loved one but it is.  I remember when my Dad died years ago and my friends, acquaintances and some distant family members sent me lots of cards.  It was awesome and it brightened my day during this sad time.

I made this sympathy card just to have on hand.  Thankfully, I haven’t had to use it yet.  I used a set of dies called Cherry Blossoms that are in the Stampin’ Up!® 2020 Mini Catalog.  They have a matching stamp set called Forever Blossoms (which I didn’t use on this card) and if you buy them in a Bundle you can save 10%.   One of the things I love about this set of dies is that some of them emboss as well as cut.  If you look closely you can see the embossing on some of the flowers and leaves.  I cut the flowers out of Purple Posy, So Saffron and Highland Heather cardstock and the leaves out of Pear Pizzazz.  I used the dies called Stitched Nested Labels to cut out the piece of Whisper White cardstock.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Peaceful Moments which is also in the Mini Catalog.

Forever Blossoms

On Monday I showed you a card we made at my monthly stamp class.  I had only partially colored the flowers and leaves and I had mentioned that I was going to show you another similar card where I had colored the entire image.  Although they use the same sketch, I think they look totally different.

This card also uses products from the Parisian Blossoms Suite which is in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog. This time I stamped the flowers from the Forever Blossoms stamp set in Memento Ink Ink and colored it with my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  After I colored it I cut it out using the matching dies called Cherry Blossoms Dies.  You can save 10% by purchasing the stamp set and dies in a Bundle.

I layered this die cut over a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had embossed using a new Embossing Folder called Coastal Weave.  It is a 3D Embossing Folder that is also in the 2020 Mini Catalog.  I stamped the sentiment which is also from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock and layered that on top of a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Lastly, I colored a few of the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’  Blends and added them in random places on the card.  I love that you can color these Droplets with any of your Blends and the ink does not rub off.

So which do you like better?  The card that is colored in totally or the one that is lightly colored?

Forever Blossoms

This is another card we made at my monthly stamping class.  It uses products from the Parisian Blossoms Suite which is in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog.  I know I have already written about the amazing Suites that are in this catalog so I won’t do it again, but I still love how Stampin’ Up!® takes all the guesswork out of coordination with these Suites.

To make this card I first used a stamp from the set called Parisian Beauty.  I inked the stamp in Smoky Slate but stamped it off once before stamping it again on Whisper White cardstock.  This makes the image lighter since it was made to make the background.  I adhered this piece of a card base of Whisper White.

I stamped the flowers from the Forever Blossoms stamp set in Basic Gray Ink and colored it with my Highland Heather and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.  I purposely left a lot of white on both the flowers and leaves so it wouldn’t look as heavy as if I had totally colored them.  I did make a card where I did color the image in full which I will show you on Wednesday so you can see the difference.  After I colored it I cut it out using the matching dies called Cherry Blossoms Dies.  You can save 10% by purchasing the stamp set and dies in a Bundle.

I stamped the sentiment which is also from the Forever Blossoms Stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock and layered that on top of a piece of Highland Heather cardstock.

Parisian Beauty

In the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog Stampin’ Up!® put together some larger product suites. These larger suites include a couple of stamp sets, matching dies, ribbons, embossing folders and other embellishments to help you make beautiful cards that all coordinate together.  To top it all off, they have offered one item number where you can order everything in the entire suite instead of having to put in numerous numbers.  Don’t worry though.  You can still order the products separately or the stamp sets and matching dies in a Bundle and save 10%.

One of these large suites is called Parisian Blossoms.  I loved this suite the first time I saw it.  The two stamp sets (Parisian Beauty and Forever Blossoms) are awesome, the dies Parisian Dies and Cherry Blossom Dies) amazing and I love all the embellishments.  The Petal Pink ribbon with champagne metallic edges is absolutely stunning.  The Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper has beautiful, soft colors in it and has champagne foil accents on some of the designs.  The Parisian Flourish embossing folder adds beautiful texture to your projects.

I used products from the Parisian Blossom Suite at our last monthly stamp class.  The card pictures above is one of the examples.  The colors I used are Whisper White, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate and Old Olive.  It is a simple card to make.  I first cut the Eiffel Tower out of Smoky Slate cardstock using the Parisian Dies.  I took a piece of Petal Pink cardstock (3.75″ x 5″) and ran it though my embossing machine using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.  I cut the word “merci” out of Basic Black Cardstock and then stamped the flower in Petal Pink ink and the leaves in Old Olive ink.  The flowers and the leaves are from the Forever Blossoms stamp set and the Cherry Blossom dies.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! It is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up!® world. You get FREE products with a qualifying order and there are many to choose from.  If you order the Parisian Blossoms Suite you can choose two $50 items out of the SAB Catalog or one $100 item!

It is also the best time to join my Stampin’ Up! family. For $99 you can pick $125 worth of products from the Annual or Spring Catalogs. Plus you get

  • A 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper sampler

Forever Blossoms Sneak Peek

Here is another sneak peek from the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® January-June 2020 Mini Catalog (formerly known as the Occasions Catalog).  This is another Make ‘N Take card we made at OnStage in November.  Again, I didn’t actually make it at the event.  I always like to bring the Make ‘N Takes home so I don’t feel rushed.  I guess I am more of a quiet stamper.

This card uses a stamp set called Forever Blossoms.  It has a set of matching dies called Cherry Blossom Dies and you will be able to save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  These two products are part of a larger Suite called Parisian Blossoms.  It is an amazing suite of products.  It was the first time I ordered all the products in the Suite using the Bundle item number Stampin’ Up!® provides.  If you don’t know this, SU now offers one item number for you to order everything in a Suite.  It is awesome because you don’t have to enter each product individually.  It saves a lot of time.

To make this card I first stamped the cherry blossoms in Smoky Slate then cut them out using the matching die.  I used my Light and Dark Petal Pink and Old Olive Blends to color the image.  This was layered on top of a piece of the Designer Series Paper  called Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP.  This paper has Champagne Foiling throughout it.  It is gorgeous!  The sentiment is from another sneak peek stamp set called Timeless Tropical.  I stamped it in Smoky Slate and punched it out using the Story Label Punch.  The ribbon is also part of this new Suite and is Petal Pink with Champagne edges.  Lastly, I added a few of the Champagne Rhinestones that are included in the Suite.
