Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC48

This is the last Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for 2015.  It is brought to us by Heidi.  She decided to do a “Anything Goes” challenge this week.  The only requirement is, your creation must have snow on it.

Anything goes with snow

Here is the card I made for this challenge:

Hearth & Home, Sleigh Ride

I used some products from the Holiday Catalog.  The window is from Hearth & Home Thinlits.  I love this window and I am so happy it is being carried over after the catalog ends on January 3rd.  Unfortunately, most of the other products I used are retiring and that makes me sad.  The Sleigh Ride Edgelits and the stamp set called Happy Scenes (the trees) are also retiring.  The good thing is, Stampin’ Up! has made another stamp set that will go with the Hearth & Home Thinlits for the Occasions Catalog!

To make it look like it is snowing outside the window, I embossed a piece of vellum with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I wanted to write a quick note that I will not be one of the Watercooler Wednesday Artists after this.  I’ve taken a new path in my job and I think it will be hard to keep up with everything for a bit.  I wish all the other artists the best and thank them for allowing me to be a part of their group.

Now check out what the other Watercooler Artists have made for this challenge HERE.

Peaceful Wreath

Peaceful Wreath, Christmas Greetings Thinlits

I was very happy when I saw another wreath in the 2015 Holiday Catalog that fits the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.  There are now actually three different wreath sets!  One is called Wondrous Wreath It is in the Annual Catalog and can be used year round.  Another one in the Annual Catalog is called Circle of Spring which can be used in the spring and summer months and now we have Peaceful Wreath for the Holidays.

I love wreaths so this is one of my favorite things in all of the catalogs.  I almost always have a wreath on my front door.  Well, not in the spring.  When I put a wreath on my front door in the spring, a robin always decides to build a nest in it.  I know that sound so cute but really it just makes a mess of my wreath and my front entrance.  Not only that, but Mama Robin will dive bomb you when you get close to her nest so you have to use another door.

I used Peaceful Wreath to make this card.  The “merry” is from Christmas Greetings Thinlits Die and the Designer Series Paper is called Merry Moments and is also in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.

Warm Winter Wishes

Winter Wishes, Holly Jolly Greetings

Here is another card using the stamp set called Winter Wishes.  Nothing says old fashioned Christmas like a sled.  When I was a kid, we lived near a golf course that had an amazing hill to sled down.  My Dad would load us all in the car, along with a giant toboggan and we would spend the day sliding.  My two sisters and I would all fit on the toboggan but none of us would ever make it to the bottom of the hill.  There were always a little girl or two thrown off when we would hit a bump.  Sometimes the toboggan would end up at the bottom of the hill without any of us.  When we got bigger, we each had out own sled or saucer to go down and my friends and I would spend hours there.  Saucers were always the most fun because you usually ended up going down the hill backwards.  People always had to get out of the way or they would get run over.  It is a fun memory!

Quick & Easy Christmas Card

Holly Jolly Greetings, Christmas Greetings Thinlits

Here is a quick and easy Christmas card you can make with a few scraps of Designer Series Paper and a couple of other items.  Sometimes I just need a card and don’t have a lot of time to make one so I love it when I can come up with a easy card that still looks nice.  I had some left over Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack so I didn’t need to cut anything.  I just used my Corner Rounder Punch to round the edges of one piece and adhered them to the Whisper White card stock.  I cut out the word Jolly from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Die set from a piece of scrap Whisper White.  I then stamped a couple of words from Holly Jolly Greetings (you can buy the stamp set and the Thinllits as a bundle as save 15%) and popped on a few Home For Christmas Enamel Dots.  The whole card took about 5 minutes!

A Shiny Christmas Wreath

Square Pillow Box, Christmas Greetings Thinlits

Stampin’ Up sells this awesome Foil Paper in three different colors.  You can get it in Gold, Silver and now Red (Red is in the 2015 Holiday Catalog).  I know it is hard to see from the picture but this Foil Paper is so shiny and bright.  It is a great way to add a little elegant sparkle to your projects.

I made the wreath using one of the dies that come in the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies.  It cuts out 3 little leaves.  That set also includes a die that cuts out little pumpkins and trees.  I cut the “merry” out using the die set called Christmas Greetings.  Both of these sets are in the Holiday Catalog.  Lastly, the little bow on top of the wreath is a die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies set which is in the Annual Catalog.

I just realized that I did absolutely no stamping on this card!

Delicate Ornaments

Delicate Ornaments

This is the third and last card we made at our monthly club meeting.  I didn’t think it would be as hard as it turned out to be.  We had to cut two of the ornaments from Blackberry Bliss cards stock and then glue them together.  It is not that it was hard to do, but it does take some time to poke out all those little pieces.  I personally think it is worth the effort because the ornaments are so pretty.  It made it much easier to use an unscented dryer sheet when cutting them out.  The Big Shot sandwich is plate>dryer sheet>cardstock>waxed paper>die>plate.  You also have to run it through a couple of time to make sure all the little pieces cut.  Most of the little pieces end up sticking to the dryer sheet which made it easier too.

Madelyn came for a visit last weekend.  Her parents had to go to a wedding so Grandpa and I got to take care of her for a couple of days.  She was so much fun!  We taught her how to blow bubbles.  I am not sure how pleased her parents are about that, but it is so cute! I caught her midway in a roll over with this picture.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC38

47a5d720b3127cce98548acc27be0000003010wAbsWbFozaNGbUA

It is Watercooler Wednesday again!  Today’s challenge is brought to us by Buffy.  She gave us a Tic Tac Toe challenge.

TicTacToe-001

To participate in this challenge you need to choose a line.  You can choose a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line and make a card, scrapbook page or 3D item (or anything else you wish) using all the items in that line.  You can use more than what is in the line but you have to have everything in the line included.

Delicate Ornaments

I chose the line that has Gold (the sentiment and Cord), Die Cut (the sentiment and the Delicate Ornaments) and Heat Embossing for my (“Christmas”) card.  I also added dry embossing because I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder for the background.

You can see the other creations if you click HERE.  Now go and make an item using the Tic Tac Toe board above and link it to our website.  Maybe you will be the next person to Rock the Watercooler!

Delicate Ornaments

Delicate Ornaments, Christmas Greetings

I love the new Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies that are in the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  They are just beautiful.  There are 8 dies in the set.  Three of them are very intricate.   I used the largest one for this card.  If you look closely you can see how the middle of the ornament is cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  There is an actual die that I used to cut it out with.  The word “peace” is from another set of Thinlits called Christmas Greetings.  There are three words in that set.  The other two say merry and jolly.
