A Nice Cuppa

A Nice Cuppa, Cups & Kettle

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  It uses a stamp set from the 2016 Occasions Catalog called A Nice Cuppa.  This stamp set has matching Framelits called Cups & Kettle and you can save 15% by buying both in a Bundle.  This set is such a cute set.  It has 11 stamps and 12 framelits in the bundle.  As you can see from the card, I actually only used one of the stamps.  The rest of the items on the card were cut out of card stock or Designer Series Paper.  I love that you can mix and match these bundles.

By the way, if you live in this area and are interested in joining our Monthly Club meeting send me an email and I will be happy to talk to you about it.  It is a great group and we have lots of fun.

Fab Friday Color Challenge

Fab+Friday+Logos-015When I need a little inspiration for card, I look for either a color challenge or a sketch challenge.  This time I came across a color challenge from the Fab Friday  website that I really liked so I decided to make a card using these gorgeous colors.

Grateful Bunch, A Nice Cuppa

I used a couple of different stamp sets to make this card.  Both of them are in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  The tea cup is from A Nice Cuppa.  It has a matching set of Framelits called Cups & Kettle and you can save 15% by buying both.  The rest of the images are from a Grateful Bunch.  This set has a matching punch called Blossom Bunch and again, you can save 15% by purchasing them in a bundle.  I cut the sentiment out using a banner from the Circle Card Thinlits set.  That is one of the great things about thinlit sets.  They always include some extras that you can use in different ways.

Using DSP Part II

A Nice Cuppa, Botanical Builders

Yesterday I showed you a very simple card to make that used Designed Series Paper with no stamping in my attempt to stop hoarding it.  Of course, I had to use the other piece I cut out so I made another card.  This time I did do some stamping using a stamp set from the 2016 Occasions Catalog called A Nice Cuppa.  It is a cute stamp set that is all about tea.  I decided it needed a little splash of color so I added the flower from the Botanical Builders Framelits.  I hope these cards have inspired you to stop hoarding your paper and start using it!

A Nice Cuppa

A Nice Cuppa

I know some of you out there are avid coffee fans.  I always dislike telling people this, but I hate coffee.  I hate the taste and I hate the smell.  Whenever I go out for a meal, especially breakfast, people look at me like I have two heads when I say that.  I have one friend, who shall go unnamed who gets desperate is she doesn’t have coffee.  I mean crazy desperate and has bee known to kick coffee machines if they don’t work.  Rob thought I was insane when he first found this out too.  He tried to teach me to like coffee by buying some of that chocolate flavored powdered coffee.  That was awful!  Bleh!

I am a tea drinker.  I drink one cup of hot tea everyday.  Although I don’t think I would kick a machine, I do feel a little off if I can’t have my tea in the morning.  In 2003, Rob, Zachary and I went to Paris and then London.  In London we stayed at this cute little hotel that is across the street from Buckingham Palace.  I ordered tea there and it was the best tea I ever had.  I snuck behind the server station to see what kind of tea it was.  When I got home, I did a mad search for this tea.  I finally found it online at some small coffee/tea web site and ordered it there.  Now Amazon carries it and I have it on auto-delivery.

In any case, the 2016 Occasions Catalog has this cute tea stamp set called A Nice Cuppa.  It even has matching Framelits that include a little tea pot.  It is so cute.  You can save 15% by buying both in bundle.

A Stamp Off Color Challenge

Stamp Off New Logo

It is that time again for another Stamp Off Challenge.  This time we had a color challenge which I presented to Buffy and Jackie.  One of the things I love about our little threesome is we all get along so well.  Although Buffy is more vintage, Jackie is more modern and I lean towards CAS (clean and simple), we can still agree on challenges to do.  Recently we had a discussion about the various Stampin’ Up! colors.  I like the Brights with Bermuda Bay being my all time favorite.  Buffy likes the Subtles and Neutrals with Blushing Bride being her favorite.  Jackie doesn’t like So Saffron, Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate but I love all of them.  We do agree that none of us like Always Artichoke!  Even though we are all so different, we can still have fun.  Why am I telling you all of this?  I gave us a color challenge to do knowing that not all of like all of these colors but we all like at least a couple of them so we can handle the rest.

SO Color Challenge-001

Here is my card:

A Nice Cuppa

I used a stamp set out of the 2016 Occasions Catalog called A Nice Cuppa.  It is the cutest set that revolves around tea.  Plus it has matching Framelits and you can save 15% buy buying both.  I made the background out of cardstock scraps.  It was a good way to use up all those little pieces I have hanging around.  I embossing each of them using the Chevron Embossing Folder.  I do have to say, this card involved math so if you don’t like math, don’t make it.  I had to figure out the sizes of the squares to make it all even.

Now go check out Buffy’s blog HERE and Jackie’s blog HERE to see what awesome things they made using this color combinations.
