All Squared Away

Stampin Up All Squared Away

All Squared Away is one of those stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog that you might skip at first look.  It is nice.  It has four different square patterns and some fun sentiments but it doesn’t say wow until you notice the coordinating die set called Floral Squares.  Now those make the stamp set much more interesting.  Now you know what those squares are for.  They are used as a background to the fun, quirky dies.  I love it!  Right now you can get the All Squared Away bundle on sale!

To make this card I first stamped three of the squares in Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink and Pale Papaya (three of the newest In Colors).  Since they are square they were easy to cut out using my Paper Trimmer.  I adhered them to a Basic White card base.

I decided I wanted to pop up the die cuts so before I cut them out using the Floral Squares die, I added a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Soft Succulent card store and then cut them out using the dies.  I had to run it through my Cut & Emboss Machine 2-3 times for it to cut all the way through.  I peeled off the backing paper and placed them over the stamped squares.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Soft Succulent ink.

By the way, if you purchase this set as a bundle you can save 10%!

Here is a side glance to show you how they add dimension to the card using the Foam Adhesive Sheets.

I made a couple of other cards in the past using this bundle.  You can see them HERE and HERE.

All Squared Away

Hello everyone.  It is time again for another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This time we have a color challenge.

Aren’t these fun colors?  I would never have put them together but I love them!

Here is my card:

Stampin Up All Squared Away

I decided to use the stamp set called All Squared Away.  This stamp set has coordinating dies called Floral Squares (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle!).  This is such a fun bundle because the stamps create the background and the dies fit over the top.

To make this card I first stamped the background using Coastal Cabana, Fresh Freesia and Night Of Navy Ink.  I “fussy” cut them out (although it was pretty simple and not fussy at all since they are all squares).  Then I cut out the floral frames using the coordinating dies in Basic White card stock and layered them on top of the squares using Multipurpose Glue.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Night Of Navy ink and cut them out using some circle punches.

At this point I decided that the card was just too white.  I am one of those people that saves scraps of card stock so I had some 1/4″ scraps saved and adhered them to the top and bottom of the card.  I liked it much better with more color.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using these colors together.  This is my favorite part of our challenges because we don’t know what the others are going to post ahead of time.

Stampin Up All Squared Away

All Squared Away is a new stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  It has a set of coordinating dies called Floral Squares and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I love this bundle because it is different and a little quirky.  The stamp set consists of 4 square stamps that are solid with a little design in them.  Plus, there are 5 sentiment stamps.  The dies cut out four squares the same size also but they have flower designs in them.  The idea is to layer the dies over the square stamps to give the dies a fun background.  Last time I used this bundle I only used the dies with Designer Series Paper .  You can see that card here.  This time I only used the stamps to show you that they can also be used alone.  Next time I will put them together!

To make this card I just stamped the four different squares in Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent ink.  I used my Stamparatus to do this.  These are solid stamps so sometimes it needs to be inked a couple of times to get good coverage.  The Stamparatus is great for this.  I stamped them on a larger than normal piece of Basic White card stock and then cut it down to 3.5″ x 5″.  I layered that onto a piece of Soft Succulent card stock and a Fresh Freesia card base.

Then I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink and cut it out using the Layering Circles Dies and a larger circle in Misty Moonlight card stock.  I adhered them to the card using a Dimensional.  Lastly I colored three Elegant Faceted Gems using my Misty Moonlight Dark Blends and randomly placed them on my card.

Stampin Up All Squared Up

Sometimes it is a good thing to try something new when it comes to anything including crafting.  I look at my stamp sets and love all of them (I try to buy only sets I love) but sometimes something catches my eye that I didn’t expect to.  I already wrote about how I am trying to get stamp sets that my grandchildren would like and I love all the ones I already purchased.  Lately, I have been trying to look at sets that are a little different.  The All Squared Away bundle is one of those sets.  It caught my eye the first time I saw it but it was different so I wasn’t sure I would love it.  Turns out I do!

The All Squared Away bundle includes the stamp set of the same name and the Floral Squares Dies (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle). The dies cut out the squares with the flowers in the middle as well as some of the flower shapes.  The stamps have backgrounds you can use to put behind the squares and a bunch of sentiments.

To make this card I first cut out the four squares in Basic White card stock.  Then I cut out the various flowers using the coordinating dies in Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody card stock and adhered them to the squares using Multipurpose Glue.  I cut out four squares out of the Host Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack and glued them to the back of the squares.  I decided to use DSP just to make it a bit quicker.  I attached them to a Coastal Cabana card base.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink and added the little flower on the side.

Next time a stamp set or bundle catches your eye, pay attention to it.  Your eyes caught it for a reason!
