Saying Goodbye To Cool Treats

I was thinking as I was typing this that I was just saying goodbye to the stamp set called Cool Treats and the matching dies called Frozen Treats when I realized there is a lot more on this card that is retiring.

Cool Treats is one of my favorite sets.  It is just so much fun and reminds me of summer months.  Of course, ice cream is one of my favorite things so that helps too.  It is definitely a stamp set I will be keeping forever especially since it has matching Framelits.  Both of these items are still available (at least today they are).

The colors I used on this card are Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach.  These are two of the InColors that are retiring too.  The Designer Series Paper I used is in the 2018 Occasions Catalog and is called Picture Perfect.  Lastly, the Ticket Tear Border Punch I used is also retiring!  The good news is the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder is being carried over into the new Annual Catalog that begins June 1st.

Here are a couple of cards I made in the past that used Cool Treats.

Cool Treats

Today is my eldest son, David’s birthday.  I am having a hard time believing how quickly time goes and that he is 38 years old.  Of course, this means I had him at 12 but that is another story.  David is a sweet, warm and generous man.  He doesn’t like to admit that because he would rather come off as a tough guy but his family knows the truth.  He was also the best baby ever.  He slept right through the night the first day home from the hospital, rarely cried and was easy to raise.  Well at least until he turned nine.  I almost gave him away that year!

I made this card using the stamp set called Cool Treats.  This set has matching Framelits called Frozen Treats.  Both of these items are retiring May 31st.  This makes  me sad because it truly is one of my favorite sets.  It is just fun and summery!  I stamped the cone of the ice cream onto Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out using the Lots Of Labels Framelits (**edited to add that these Framelits are no longer available***).  Then I cut out a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock using a bigger Framelit.

The colors I used for this card are Peekaboo Peach (also retiring), Lemon Lime Twist, and Crumb Cake.  The Designer Series Paper is called Picture Perfect Party.  It is 6″ x6″ and is in the Occasions Catalog. This paper will also be gone come May 31st.

Here are some more cards I made previously using this set in case you need more reasons to buy it before it disappears forever. If you would like to see the details of these cards just click on the Select Category bar and search for Cool Treats.  It will bring up all my past posts I made using this set.

Happy Birthday, David!!

A Cool Treats Birthday

I actually got the idea for this card at our local ice cream shop.  It is called Lickety Split which I think is a great name for this business.  A young girl was eating a soft ice cream cone that looked like this.  I think it was raspberry flavored.

I used a stamp set that was in the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Occasions Catalog and luckily carried over into the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  It is called Cool Treats.  This set has 36 stamps in it!  That is an amazing amount of stamps!  The matching Framelits are called Frozen Treats.  This is set is perfect for summer time, which is the only time Lickety Split is open!  That is probably a good thing because I love going there!

I do have to apologize because I used the Bermuda Bay sequins and apparently they retired this year.  By the time I realized it, they were already glued onto the card and I didn’t want to take them off.  Sorry about that!

Cool Treats

I think Cool Treats is my favorite stamp set in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  Maybe because the weather is getting warmer and summertime is almost here.  It is such a fun summer set and it has matching Framelits called Frozen Treats.  The good news is that this set is being carried over into the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  The bad news is you only have two more days to save 10% by purchasing the stamp set and Framelits in a Bundle.

I used one of the new In Colors that will be in the new Annual Catalog and one of the old In Colors to make this card.  I am really liking the Lemon Lime Twist color.  It is bright and fun and who doesn’t love a lemon lime popsicle?  The other In Color I used is Flirty Flamingo.  Then I added a little Pool Party because my favorite popsicle are the blue raspberry favored.

Two more days until the new Annual Catalog goes live.  I don’t now about you, but I can’t wait!  Don’t forget to check back here on June 1st to see a special I am having to celebrate the new catalog!

Cool Treats

Today is my son David’s, birthday.  He is my oldest son and is (gulp) 37 years old today.  Wow,  I can not believe how fast time flies.  It doesn’t seem possible that he could be that old.

David is an amazing man.  He is kind and generous.  I guess Rob and I did something right.  David would do anything or anyone.  He is just that kind of man.  We are very proud of him.

I made this birthday card using the stamp set called Cool Treats.  It has a set of matching Framelits called Frozen Treats and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  By the way, that Bundle price is going away on June 1st.  Both of these items will be carried over to the new 2017 Annual Catalog but you can only buy them separately.  This set has been a favorite of many of my customers.  Summer is coming and who doesn’t like a cool treat every now and then?

The Designer Series Paper I used is called A Little Foxy.  It is a paper stack which means it is 6″ x 6″.  This paper will be retiring at the end of May.  That makes me sad because I love the color combinations it uses (Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral and Pool Party).

Happy Birthday, David.  I love you!

This is one of the cards we made at our Monthly Stamp Club meeting.  It uses a stamp set from the 2017 Occasions Catalog called Cool Treats.  This stamp set has a set of matching Framelits called Frozen Treats and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  There are 36 stamps (wow!!) and 17 dies (another wow!!) in this Bundle.

The 2016/2018 In Colors are perfect for this stamp set because they remind me of fun summer colors (sherbet).  I used Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Pool Party for the different kinds of ice cream.  They are such bright summery colors.  I also used the matching Designer Series Paper called Tasty Treats for the side panels.  You can save paper if you just cut out the panels and don’t use an entire sheet to cover the front of the card.

Is it summer yet?

Cool Birthday Wishes

When I went to Stampin’ Up’s OnStage Local Convention last Fall, we received this stamp set.  It is called Cool Treats and is in the Occasions Catalog.  It is an adorable stamp set and also has matching Framelits called Frozen Treats.  You can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.

One of my favorite things about being a demonstrator is being able to go to Stampin’ Up! functions such as OnStage or OnStage Local.  Hundreds of Demonstrators attend these events around the world and it is always a lot of fun.  You learn new techniques and get product for free.  As a demonstrator you also get your hands on any new catalogs that come out before anyone else.  That is always an exciting time!  Then to top it all off, you get a discount on any purchases you make.

Right now, during Sale-abration you can join Stampin’ Up! for $99 and get $125 worth of products that you can choose.  Plus during this time, you can pick two free stamp sets of your choosing from the Annual Catalog or the Occasions Catalog.  That can be up to a $104 value for free!

It doesn’t hurt to join.  There is no obligation to sell anything or buy another thing.  Of course, that is what I said when I first joined and now 9 years later, I am still here.  It has been a lot of fun.  I’ve met people from all over the world that I now consider good friends.  If you have any interest at all, you should try it.  It can’t hurt!  Just click HERE for more information or email me at shcommish @ gmail.com.

A Stamp Off Color Sneak Peek Challenge

Stamp Off Logo Clean

It is my favorite day of the week!  It is Friday and the day Buffy, Jackie and I do a Stamp Off Challenge.  This week we are doing a color challenge.  We have to use at least one color from every color family.  Ok.  I added the “at least” because I did use more than one in some families.  I also used a color from each of the InColor families.  As Buffy says, “I am such a rebel”!

Here is my card for this challenge:

Cool Treats, Frozen Treats Framelits, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

I decided to use a new stamp set from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalog.  It is a stamp set I got when I went to Onstage last November.  It is called Cool Treats and it has a matching set of Framelits called Frozen Treats (yes, you will be able to save 10% by purchased both in a Bundle beginning January 4th!).  This stamp set is just adorable.  It is a two step stamp set (wow, say that 3 times fast!) and includes just about everything you could find in an ice cream shoppe.  All together there are 36 stamps and 17 Framelits.

The colors I used are Tangerine Tango (Brights), Blushing Bride and Soft Sky (Subtles), Island Indigo (Regals), Crumb Cake (Neutrals), Mint Macaron (2015-2017 InColor) and Emerald Envy (2016-2018 In Color).

Let’s go see how Buffy and Jackie did with this color challenge.  I hope they cheated a bit too so I am not the only one!
