Hexagon Hive

Tin Of Cards, Hexagon Hive

Have you ever gotten an idea in your head but you just can’t get it on paper?  This was a result of having that happen.  I had this great idea that involved diagonals, Sea Street and Designer Series paper.  As you can see, the only thing that made it on this card was the diagonals.  I wanted to make a masculine nautical card.  The only thing nautical about this card is the colors.  Let me tell you, a lot of card stock, stamped and unstamped made it to the garbage bin this time.  I was able to save it but I am not too sure how happy I am with the way it turned out.  Such is the life of a card maker!

I hope you have better luck with your ideas then I did with this idea!

Wild About Flowers

Wild About Flowers, Hexagon Hive Thinlits

I know everyone is probably busy making Christmas cards (if you aren’t you better get moving!!) but sometimes I need a break from them.  I love so many of my stamp sets and I think the non-holiday ones feel lonesome during this time of year.  I decided to take out the set called Wild About Flowers and make a thank you card.  The background was made using the Hexagon Hive Thinlits.  It is another one of those products that don’t get a lot of love this time of year.  I love the look of it as a background.
I am sure tomorrow we will be back to our regularly scheduled Christmas program!

Madelyn went to visit her other grandmother this weekend.  Here she is waiting at the airport for a ride home.

Happy Birthday Hexagon Hive

Hexagon Hive, Flower Shop, Tin Of Cards

Today is my friend Sandy’s birthday.  For her birthday I made her this card with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit.  It uses the colors of Watermelon Wonder (a new In Color) and Crushed Curry.  I made another card using these colors and really liked it so I thought I would try it again.  The polka dots in the background were made using a new background stamp called Dots For Days.  I love using background stamps to add a little extra and Stampin’ Up has a bunch of new ones.  The sentiment on this card is from the stamp set called Tin of Cards.  You probably already know that since I use it a lot.  It just seems to be the perfect size for a lot of cards.

Happy Birthday, Sandy!  I hope you have an awesome day!
