Animal Outing Challenge

Good morning everyone!  It is that time again for another BS & J Productions Stamp Off Challenge.  I have to admit this challenge has me a little stumped.  I was not (am not) quite sure what it is supposed to mean but I came up with something.  That is one of the great things about our challenges.  It doesn’t really matter what we do or if we are confused.  We just make something up and it always works!

So, what does a Polaroid Look look like?  I decided to  think of it as framed pictures so here is my card:

So this is the wall of my family pictures.  I do have three boys although I am not sure which one is which of these animals.  I know my youngest is a monkey but this works because it is what I have.

I used the stamp set called Animal Outing.  This set has matching dies (although I did not use them) and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I colored each animal using my Stampin’ Blends (Smoky Slate, Pineapple Punch and Petal Pink).  The frames around the “photos” were made using the Layering Squares Framelits Dies. The Designer Series Paper I used is Nature’s Poem.  I thought it kind of looked like wallpaper.  The sentiment is from a new stamp set called Kindness & Compassion.  I masked off most of the saying with tape.

Speaking of Blends I am so excited that there will be six new colors in the Holiday Catalog!  How do I know that?  All Demonstrators got to see the new catalog online on July 30th!  That is one of the perks of being a Demo.  The Holiday Catalog is awesome.  You are going to love it!  If you would like to see it and order from it before everyone, you can join my Stampin’ Up! family and get these great perks!  Just click on the Join Now button to the right.

Well now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made using the Polaroid Look.  I am sure they did a much better job than I did!

Another Sale-a-bration Card

Here is another card primarily using Sale-a-bration items.  This is the final week of Sale-a-bration where you can earn merchandise for free.  There are Designer Series Papers, dies, an embossing folder, ribbon and some amazing stamp sets still available to get.  To see what is available click on the two brochures to the right of this post.  Plus Stampin’ Up! has added a few things from the Occasions and Annual Catalogs.

To make this card I ran a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock through my Big Shot using the Sale-a-bration Embossing Folder called Basket Weave.  It is a Dynamic Embossing Folder so it makes a deeper impression than a regular one.  I stamped the word ‘celebrate’ with Calypso Coral ink and cut it out at an angle using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  I cut out the word “you” in Smoky Slate using the Sale-a-bration Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.

You still have one week left to earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase, get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order) and/or join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $101)!!

A Color Stamp Off Challenge

Good morning!  Every other Friday is the day Buffy, Jackie and I do a Stamp Off Challenge.  Today we have a color challenge.

These color are part of the 2016 In Colors.  They will be retiring on May 31st, which makes me sad.  I love this set of In Colors.  As a reminder, if you like them you should purchase them pretty soon.  Once the retirement list comes out they disappear quickly.

Here is my card using these colors:

I decided to use the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet.  This set has matching Framelits called Bouquet Bunch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  First I stamped the stems and leaves in Emerald Envy on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  Then I stamped the flowers in Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo and cut them out using my Big Shot and the matching dies.  I know it is hard to see, but the piece of Peekaboo Peach Cardstock I used for the background was embossed using a new Embossing Folder the is in the 2018 Occasions Catalog called Simple Stripes.

Now, lets go see what fantastic creations Jackie and Buffy made.  I am always awed by their creativity.

Fresh Fruit Magic Card

Fresh Fruit, Stampin Up

We had fun making this Magic Card at our last stamp club meeting.  Magic cards have been around for a while but I have never made one before.  Buffy made one with her class a while ago and was kind enough to send me the card they made with awesome directions.  Then Stampin’ Up! came out with a video showing how to make one so I knew I had to show it to my ladies.  The magic part is when you lift up the tab and your black and white picture turns to color.  Here is what our card looked like when opened.

Fresh Fruit, Stampin Up

Isn’t that fun?!  Here is the video Stampin’ Up! made which shows you how to make one.  I did mine a little differently but it comes out the same so that is ok!

Painter’s Palette

Painters Palette

This card is a result of half participating in the color challenge.  I didn’t really participate in it because I forgot to but I did have every intention of doing it.  Now it is too late because the challenge is over and I can’t remember the site I got it from.  It sure is hard getting older!

The colors they used were Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.  I used the stamp set Painter’s Palette to make this card.  I was going to make it into a shaker card but decided I liked it with just the frame around the sentiment.  I cut the frame out using the Layering Squares Framelits and then mounted it with the Foam Adhesive Strips.

Totally Trees

Totally Trees, Paper Pumpkin

Totally trees is a stamp set that is in the 2016 Holiday Catalog.  It is such a cute stamp set that the minute I saw it, I knew I had to have it.  I made one card using this set earlier that you can see HERE.  This set actually has 27different stamps in it.  That is a lot of stamps.

The sentiment comes from a Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I’ll honest.  Sometimes I am not a big fan of the kit of the month but the great thing is, you get a stamp set every month that you can use forever.  Plus, if you don’t like the kit the way they put it together, you can always change it and make something different.  I love that about these kits.  There is no one out there saying you must do it this way!  Right now, Paper Pumpkin is having a deal.  If you sign up before October 10th, Stampin’ Up! is having a BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free) deal.  You pay for the first month and get the second month free!  It is an awesome deal and a great way to try out Paper Pumpkin.  Just make sure you use the promo code “BOGO” when you sign up and pick me as your demonstrator!

A Stamp Off Shaker Card Challenge

Stamp Off Logo Clean

Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is to make a shaker card.  This was a perfect choice since I went to Salt Lake City for Stamping’ Up! OnStage.  They just happen to give up a new stamp set and we were able to buy new In Colors, a punch and some Framelits that are perfect to use for a shaker card!

Painters Palette, Sprinkles Punch

The stamp set is called Painter’s Palette.  It comes with 9 stamps including the easel, some splotches (I don’t know what else to call them) and three sentiments.  It is a very cute set that can be used in a lot of different ways.  The punch is called Sprinkles and is meant to be used with a shaker card.  Here is a close up of some of the shapes that this punch will make.

Painters Palette, Sprinkles Punch

It makes a couple of swirls, a diamond, star, little circles and a couple of others.  I also used three of the new In Colors that will be coming out in the next catalog.  They are Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.  You will love these new colors!  Lastly, I used a new set of Framelits called Layering Squares to cut out the middle of the easel.  There are 19 dies in this set.  Some are scalloped edged and some are plain squares and they all layer very nicely.

On a side note, today is my granddaughter, Madelyn’s, first birthday (Waffles is giving her a kiss).  I don’t know where the time went.  It is hard to believe she is one already!  Next week I will post some pictures of her first birthday party which will be tomorrow.  A grandmother is allowed to do things that may be fun or may be quirky.  Here is a picture of the dress I bought for Madelyn to wear to her birthday party.  The second I saw it, I knew I had to buy it.  That is a result of having three boys and not being able to buy pretty little girl dresses ever!
