We finally made it home after a month-long visit to Florida.  The place we went to is right on the gulf beach.  Every night has beautiful sunsets.  The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous.  It rained one time for about 15 minutes and then cleared right up.  My granddaughter was here last week and we went shelling.  It was weird because there were very few shells that day but we did manage to get a few Sand Dollars.  They were all over the beach.

Don’t worry.  We didn’t take them all (although it may look like we did).

I started this card using a Basic White card base.  I cut out a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock using the Scalloped Contour Dies and embossed it using the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder (retired).  I also cut out a piece of Basic White card stock using a smaller die from the same set.  I backed that up with a 3″ x 4″ piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock.

I decided to pull out the stamp set called Pansy Patch along with the coordinating Pansy dies to make the rest of the card. You can save 10% if you purchase them in a bundle.  I think this stamp set is so pretty.  It is a two-step stamp set which means it takes two or more stamps to make an image.  The larger Pansies actually take four different stamps.  The colors I used for the flowers were Fresh Freesia, Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight.  I used Soft Succulent for the leaves.  Then I cut them out using the Pansy dies.  I adhered them to the card using Multipurpose Glue.  I like using this adhesive because it gives you some time to move things around if you don’t like it at first.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink.

Pansy Patch Diagonal Fun Fold

I have to say we picked a great time to head to Florida.  Tennesse had a mini ice storm right after we left.  I call it mini because everything was covered with a thin layer of ice. The schools were closed for a day and the city shut down. When we lived in Northern New York an ice storm meant inches of ice on everything. The trees were breaking, power poles were down and the roads were unpassable.  There was no power and no school for weeks.  Of course, this doesn’t mean that Tennessee should not have reacted this way because it is all what you are used to. In any case, I am glad we missed it.  It is 80 and sunny here and I am enjoying every minute of it.

The card I made for today is called a Diagonal Fun Fold Card.  This is what it looks like when you open it.

The center portion opens to the right and then the diagonal front piece opens to the left.  It was fairly simple to make.

First, I took a 5.5″ x 8.5″ piece of Basic White card stock that I folded in half.  Then I cut from the fold down to the corner of the front of the card to make the diagonal part. I took a 5.25″ x 4″ piece of Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper and cut that in half diagonally and adhered it to the front of the card.  I cut another piece of the same size and added that to the inside of the card.  Dandy Designs DSP is one of the products you can get for free during Sale-a-bration. It is a huge pack (48 sheets) of 12″ x 12″ double-sided paper that has four sheets of each design.  I absolutely love the colors of this paper.  They are so soft and beautiful.

Next, I took an 8″ x 3″ piece of Basic White card stock and folded it in half.  I added a 2.75″ x 3.75″ piece of Dandy Designs DSP to the back.  If you look at the photo above you can see why it has to be on the back since it opens the opposite way.  I used the stamp set called Pansy Patch and the coordinating Pansy Dies to make the flowers and leaves.  The Pansy Patch stamp set is a two-step stamp set.  That means it can take two or more stamps to make one image.  I first stamped the outside of the pansy in Calypso Coral ink, the middle section in Pale Papaya and the center of the flower in Highland Heather.  Then I cut them out using the coordinating die.  I cut three leaves out of Soft Succulent card stock.  The dies are different because they cut out the outside edge of the leaf and they emboss at the same time.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Heron Habitat and cut it out using a die from Stylish Shapes.

Yesterday I got the spend most of the day playing with my two grandchildren that live near our cottage.  Olivia is three and Madison is seven months old.  Whew!  I have to say I am definitely out of practice when it comes to little, little ones.  Olivia is just adorable but definitely has a mind of her own.  She loves coming to the cottage to throw rocks in the water.  We did lots of playing and reading (her favorite book is Yummy Yucky).  Madison is just sweet and happy and loves to look out the windows at the lake.  I did need a nap after they left though.

I decided to mix some old products with some new products on this card.  The first things I did was use the Pansy Dies.  These dies coordinate with the Pansy Patch stamp set (which I did not use on this card).  I cut the flowers out using Basic White card stock and the leaves and stems using Soft Succulent.  I put the flowers together using Multipurpose Glue and then added a little Fresh Freesia ink to the centers using a Blending Brush.

Next I took a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock and embossed it using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  I added a 1.75″ x 4″ piece of Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper on top and then tied a piece of Soft Succulent 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon around it.  I layered these pieces on top of a Fresh Freesia card base.

After that I added the flowers and leaves to the card.  I curled them up a bit so it would add more dimension to the card.  Then I added an InColor Opal Rounds to the center of the large flower.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Charming Sentiments.  I love this stamp set because it has seventeen different sentiment stamps AND it has coordinating dies (called Sentiment Silhouettes and if you order the stamp set and the dies using the bundle item number, you will save 10%).

What is up with the weather in this country this year?  One day it is 65 degrees and the next day it snows.  I am ready for spring and summer to arrive for good.  I remember a few years ago, when I lived in Northern New York, it did not warm up until July.  Really, I am not kidding.  June was in the 40’s & 50’s.  I hope this year is not like that.

Pansy Patch and the Pansy Dies are another Stampin’ Up! bundle that is 20% off during the month of March.  They are both part of the Pansy Petals Suite that is in the 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  The Suite includes the bundle plus Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and Bumble bee Trinkets.  One of the things I love about this suite is that some of the dies cut out some of the flowers in the Designer Series Paper.  As a result of this, my card was super easy to make!

The first thing I did to create this card is to cut out the flowers from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper using the Pansy Dies using my Cut And Emboss Machine.  I cut out one large flower and three small ones. Then I cut out five leaves.  After this I stamped the sentiment in Soft Succulent ink on a 2.5″ x 3.75″ piece of Basic White card stock.  I layered this onto a 2 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Soft Succulent card stock.  I then layered that on top of a piece of the Pansy Petals DSP and a Soft Succulent piece of card stock.  I wrapped a piece of Soft Succulent 1/2″ Satin Shimmer Ribbon.  This ribbon has a very subtle shine to it.  I layered that on top of a Basic White A2 card base.  Then I adhered the flowers and leaves onto the card using Multipurpose Glue.  Lastly I added three Polished Dots.

Hello everyone.  Today is another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  Today we have a really fun challenge called The Three Amigos.  It goes without saying that Jackie, Buffy and I are three amigos.  We have been doing these Stamp Off Challenges for over five years and have been having a great time.  You know, I have met Buffy quite a few times but I have never met Jackie, although I feel like I have known her as if we had.  We really need to fix that!  In any case, you can use three of anything (images, sentiments, colors, stamps, etc) for our Three Amigo challenge.

As you can see, I used many “3’s” on my card.  I have three flowers, three leaves, three purples and three panels.  I tried to do three greens but I didn’t like any three of them together so I just went with two.  I didn’t want to overdo it!

To make this card, I first cut all the pieces of the pansies from the Pansy Die Set.  Each pansy takes eight die cuts so I cut seven pieces from Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Fresh Freesia card stock.  I cut the three centers out of Daffodil Delight card stock.  Then I cut three leaves out using Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen cardstock.  Then I had to glue them all together using Multipurpose Glue.

After that I cut the three panels using Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.  I adhered that to a Basic White card base and then layered all the flowers and leaves on top.  I used Multipurpose Glue for that except for the bottom flower.  I adhered that with a Stampin Dimensional so it would pop up a bit.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Pansy Patch in Gorgeous Grape.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using the Three Amigo theme.  As you know, we don’t show each other our cards so it is always a fun surprise to see what they made.

Pansy Patch Mystery Parts Challenge

Hello everyone.  Some of my downline and I got together to do another Mystery Parts Challenge (thanks again, Diana!).  This is where one of us sends the others some Stampin’ Up!® products to make a card.  These “parts” usually include card stock, Designer Series Paper and some kind of embellishment.

Below is a photo of the parts that Kim sent us all. She included Blackberry Bliss and Basic White cardstock, Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and some enamel dots that look like they could be Poppy Parade.

Here is the card I made using these Mystery Parts.

To make my card, I first cut the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper at an angle and then added a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock to the top of it.  I layered this on top of a piece of Basic White card stock and the Blackberry Bliss card base.  I cut out the pansy from the DSP using the Pansy Dies and layered that on top of a Basic White circle I had cut out using the Layering Circles Dies.  I layered that on top of a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock I had also cut out using the Layering Circles Dies.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Pansy Patch (which coordinates with the Pansy Dies and Pansy Petals DSP).  Then I colored the Poppy Parade Enamel Dots with my Blackberry Bliss Stampin Blends because I thought the color would look better on the card.

Hello everyone.  Today is another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This time our challenge is to use Designer Series Paper.  I love this challenge because, as you know, I have been on a kick to use my DSP more often.  My goal is to use an entire pack of paper before it retires.  Who am I kidding??  That won’t happen but I am going to try.

Stampin Up Pansy Patch

I am using the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper for my card (again).  I specifically chose this because, not only does it have beautiful designs but the Pansy Dies that coordinate with the Pansy Patch Stamp Set also cut out many of the images in the DSP!  The only stamping I did on this entire card is the sentiment.  The pansies and the leaves were all cut out of the paper with the dies.  It can’t be much easier than that!

To make this card I first cut out a 4.25″ x 5.5″  piece of the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a Basic White card base.  I love the checks on this sheet.  The color is one of the new InColors called Soft Succulent.  Then I cut out the flowers and the leaves in the DSP using the coordinating dies and adhered some of them with Stampin Seal and one with Dimensionals to a piece of Basic White cardstock I had cut out using the new Scalloped Contours Dies.  Then I stamped the sentiment  from the Pansy Patch stamp set in Soft Succulent ink.  I then used a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheets to adhere that to my card base.  I love those sheets because they add such dimension to a card and are so easy to adhere.  They are just like Dimensionals only they are 4 1/2″ x 4 5/16″ that you can cut to any size.  You can even die cut them to pop up an image, word or letter.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy and made using their Designer Series Paper.  I can’t wait to see their ideas.  They are both so talented!

Hello everyone!  It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This time our challenge is to use a new product from the upcoming 2021-2022 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  I decided to go with the Pansy Petals Suite.  This suite includes the stamp set called Pansy Patch, the coordinating dies called Pansy Dies (and you can save 10% by purchasing them both in a bundle), Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and Bumble Bee Trinkets (which are just adorable).  The moment I saw this suite, I knew I would have to get it.

When I first started playing around with this set, I tried a whole bunch of different colors.  I made a lot of different pansies but this combination was my favorite.  This stamp set is a two step stamp set which means you use two or more stamps to make one image.  The pansies do take five different stamps, although you don’t need to do them if you don’t want to.  The colors I used in order were Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather and the little piece in the middle is Evening Evergreen.  I used Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent for the leaves.  They are both part of the new InColors.  After I stamped everything, I cut them out using the coordinating dies.

For the background I used a Soft Succulent card base.  I adhered two 1″ strips from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper to each side.  Then I glued a 3.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Soft Succulent to a 3.5″ x 5.5″ piece of Evening Evergreen card stock.  I think if I did it again, I would have embossed the piece of Soft Succulent but I wasn’t going to rip the card apart and start over again to do this.  Next time!

Now let’s go see what new stamp set Buffy and Jackie used for their cards.  I know once I see them, I will have to buy whatever they used.  They talk me into so many stamp sets.  In the stamp world, we call those kind of people “enablers”!
