Pierced Blooms

Stampin Up Pierced Blooms

Now that Christmas is over I can start posting different cards. Don’t get me wrong. I love Christmas and I love making Christmas cards but after a couple of months of it, I am ready for something different. Speaking of different, the new 2022 January – June Mini Catalog is going to be live on January 4th. It is filled with so many great products for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Spring and more. Stampin’ Up!® did a great job putting different things in this upcoming catalog that will make everyone happy. You are going to love it. In the meantime I am using some of the products in the 2021/2022 Annual Catalog that have been neglected since the holiday mini came out.

I used a set of dies for this called called Pierced Blooms. It does have a coordinating stamp set called In Bloom although I did not use it on this card. The dies are so much fun, they can speak for themselves. The colors I used on this card are all bright and happy colors (in my opinion). They are Polished Pink, Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight. This card would cheer anyone up when it is dark and cold outside for another 3-4 months.

I cut all the flowers and leaves out and adhered them to a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. I layered that on top of a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Daffodil Delight and a Polished Pink card base. I popped up the flower centers using Dimensionals. I added some Playing With Patterns Resin Dots. The sentiment is from Pinkfresh.

Use That Designer Series Paper!

Remember how I have been talking about using all that gorgeous Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper?  Well, I am still trying to do that.  The hard part is SU keeps coming out with beautiful patterns in every catalog which, of course I have to purchase but I still trying really hard to get myself to cut that paper and use so here are two more simple and easy cards I made using some.

Stampin Up Sweet Ice Cream

This first card using the Host Bundle of Designer Series Paper called Pattern Party.  This is an amazing pack of paper that you can get with a qualifying order.  It has 48 sheets of 12″ x 12″ double sided paper.  There are colorful patterns on one side and black and white designs on the other.

To make this top card I just adhered the Blushing Bride piece of DSP onto a Basic White card base.  Then I cut out a piece of Poppy Parade card stock and a different piece of DSP using the Basic Borders dies (I love these dies) and layered them on top.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Sweet Ice Cream on a 3″ x 1 1/8″ piece of Basic White card stock and cut it out using a die from the set called Tasteful Labels.  Then I cut a full piece of Poppy Parade card stock using the same die.  I adhered them together and used Dimensionals to place them on the card.  Lastly I added a couple of leaves from Pierced Blooms in Granny Apple Green card stock.

Stampin Up Biggest Wish

I used Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper for my second card.  This was also super easy to make.  I adhered the flower piece of DSP on top of the Fresh Freesia checked piece and then cut out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I glued the bottom piece of a Basic White card base and then used a Foam Adhesive Sheet to layer the cut out piece so it is popped which adds dimension.  I stamped the larger sentiment from the stamp set called Biggest Wish in Fresh Freesia ink and the smaller one in Gorgeous Grape and then cut that out using another Stitched Rectangle Die and glued that on top.

This is my birthday week.   So, in honor of my birthday, I am offering 10% Off on all orders over $50 if you use the Host Code VMJYKYCW.  Just click in the box below and it will take you to my website and automatically enter the Host Code for you.   If your order is larger than $150 DO NOT use the Host Code so you can get the host benefits yourself but I will still give you the discount. You can order online and I will rebate you the discount by PayPal or I can send you a check in the mail.  This offer is good until 11:59 PM Sunday, August 29, 2021.

Stitched Greenery & Pierced Blooms

Stampin Up Stitched Greenery

This is the third card we made at our stamp meeting a couple of weeks ago.  Look at the background of this card.  I just love it!  It is a new die that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog called Stitched Greenery.  It doesn’t cut out a shape.  It only cuts all those beautiful stitched leaves out of the background of a piece of card stock.  I think it is fun and elegant and really adds some interest to the background of your card.  Below is a close up.

I decided to pair the Stitched Greenery die with the Pierced Blooms dies.  Pierced Blooms is a set of 25 dies that cut out flowers, leaves, a stem, a bow and the label we used on this card.  I first cut a piece of Basic White card stock using the Stitched Greenery die. Then I cut out the flowers in Polish Pink, the centers of the flowers in Daffodil Delight and the stems and leaves in Granny Apple Green card stock.  I layered all of them on top of the Stitched Greenery Basic White piece of card stock using Multipurpose Glue and then layered that on a Polished Pink card base.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set in Granny Apple Green Ink and cut it out using the label die from the Pierced Blooms die set.  I adhered that using Stampin’ Up!® Dimensionals.

That Stitched Greenery die is going to be one of my favorites so you will probably see it a lot on my blog.

Pierced Blooms & Color & Contour

Stampin Up Pierced Blooms

I have a favorite day of the year.  It is when all the trees have new leaves, the early flowers are beginning to bloom and the world is this amazing green color.  It is not quite as bright as Granny Apple Green but it is pretty close.  It is more like a mixture of Garden Green and Granny Apple Green.  Stampin’ Up!® should make it a color!  It always hits me when I am driving and I begin to notice the colors.  It is my favorite day because, one it is beautiful and two, spring has arrived.  That means warm days are ahead.  One of the best things about moving to Nashville is I will get TWO favorite days.  In Nashville this day was May 1st.  At the cottage it won’t be until the end of May so I get to enjoy it all over again.

Of course, the month of May is exciting in other ways too.  The new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog beings so I get to play with new products.  The card I made today uses a new stamp set called Color & Contour and the coordinating dies called Scalloped Contours.  I think this is one of my favorite bundles because I just love the new dies in this bundle.

To make this card I first cut the Basic White background using the largest Scalloped Contour die.  Then I embossed it using the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder.  I layered that onto a Pale Papaya card base.  Then I cut out the flowers and stems using The Pierced Blooms dies in Pale Papaya, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Shaded Spruce card stock.  I adhered them using Multipurpose Glue and Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink and cut it out using another die from the Pierced Blooms set.  I backed that with a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock I had cut out using the same die and then cutting it in two.

There is a great promotion going on now.  Order $250 worth of merchandise and get an extra $25 in hostess benefits.  It can be done though a workshop or individual orders!

2021 – 2023 Stampin’ Up!® InColors

Hello everyone.

This is my favorite time of year in the world of Stampin’ Up!®.  It is when the new Annual Catalog is on the horizon and Demonstrators can preorder some of the new products.  One of the fun things is we get to see the new InColors.  Of course, it is a sad time of year too because so many products are retiring but the new definitely outshines the retiring.

Here are the 2021-2023 InColors.

Aren’t they just gorgeous?  I can not wait to start using them.

Here is a card I made using the new colors.

Stampin Up Wreath Builder Dies

I started with the Wreath Builder Dies.  These dies coordinate with the stamp set called Arrange A Wreath.  These are both retiring but you can still buy them in a Bundle and save 10% until May 3rd.  I cut out the wreath once in Evening Evergreen and once in Soft Succulent.  Then I cut the flowers using Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia.  The centers of the Polished Pink flowers are from the die set called Pierced Blooms.  Then I added another sneak peek by using the new 2021-2023 InColor Jewels that will be in the new Annual Catalog.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Best Year.

Below are also some comparisons of the new InColors to some of our present colors so you can see the differences.  The middle colors are the new ones.

I haven’t decided which one is my favorite because they are all beautiful!

Pierced Blooms

Stampin Up Pierced Blooms

This is the last week of the Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration.  There are so many fun products in the SAB catalog that you can get for free with a qualifying order until February 28th.  Then these products will no longer be available (free or otherwise).

One of the best products in the 2021 SAB Catalog is the Designer Series Paper Called Oh So Ombre.  This pack has 48 sheets of double sided paper.  One side has a design and the other side is just plain except the color is darker on the top and gradually turns lighter towards the bottom.  I used it for this card so you can see how it looks.  I love this paper.  It really adds a lot of interest to a card.

Another new favorite product I have are the dies called Pierced Blooms.  This die set is in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog has 25 dies in all.  There are flowers in all different shapes and sizes, as well as different leaves, a stem and a bow.  Everything has stitching in it except the stem and the bow.  These dies are part of a bundle that includes a stamp set called In Bloom and you can save 10% by purchasing them together.

To make this card I first layered a piece of the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper on a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I layered them on top of a Basic White card base.  I cut out the flowers using Daffodil Delight cardstock and the leaves in Granny Apple Green.  Lastly I cut the flower centers out of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Lots Of Heart.  This set is also in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog

In Bloom

Stampin Up In Bloom

I probably should not admit this but sometimes when I am deciding my big pre-order I will look at a stamp set and not put it on my must have list the first time around.  Then I look at the coordinating dies (in this case they are called Pierced Blooms) and sometimes that puts it back on my list.  This was the case with the In Bloom Bundle.  The stamp set is very nice but I had to have those dies.  Anything with stitching makes me happy and these dies have stitching on almost all of them!  I just think they are adorable!

This card made me happy too because I love the bright colors in it.  As you can see it is mostly using the Pierced Blooms dies.  Only the sentiment is from the In Bloom stamp set.  I first cut all the flowers, the centers and the leaves out using the dies.  I cut much more than I really needed before deciding what to use.  I do that all the time which means I have pieces and pieces of cut shapes in a container that I can use later (when I remember to!).  I adhered the die cuts to a piece of Basic White cardstock using Multipurpose Glue and Stampin Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape Ink and punched it out using the Banners Pick A Punch.

Now, another fun die set I saw was the Stitched With Whimsey Dies.  I also knew I had to have those the first time I saw them.  They do not cut out the rectangle shapes.  They only cut the stitching around the outside of a piece of cardstock that you have already cut.  I love the crazy stitching they make.  It reminds me of how I sew!  I made a dress once in high school that would have looked awesome if I had one shoulder about four inches shorter than the other and if you didn’t look too closely at the seams!  Luckily I only got graded on how it looked on the table and not on me!

Anyway, here is a close up of the the Stitched With Whimsey dies did on the Gorgeous Grape background.
