Christmas Quilt

This year has been another crazy November and December for me.  I traveled a lot.  A new baby boy grandchild was born, I had to go help my 92 year old Mother for a few days after her surgery and we went to see another grandchild who lives in Alabama.   Then, as you know, Rob had hip replacement surgery.

As a result of this I didn’t have a lot of time to make elaborate Christmas cards.   I needed to go simple and the stamp set called Christmas Quilt was perfect for this. This stamp set is in the Holiday Catalog and it has a set of matching dies called Quilt Builder Framelits. Unfortunately, it is going to retire at the end of this month for good so if you like it you will need to order it before then.  By the way, if you order the Bundle you can save 10%!

Christmas Quilt is a two step stamp set.  The tree is made up of two different stamps that you layer on top of each other to make one image.  The stamps are Photopolymer so it is super easy to line up.  The sentiment is from Star Of Light.

I would like to wish everyone and very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and an amazing New Year.  Thank you for all your purchases, comments and support you give me throughout the year.  It is wasn’t for you, I would not be writing this crazy blog.

Christmas Quilt

I have a story to tell you.  When I was in 8th grade all the girls had to take the Homemaking Class.  This class was meant to teach us everything we needed to know to make a good wife.  Before you all go crazy, I find there is nothing wrong with this.  Back in the day, yes, that was what it was meant to be.  I think if they offered this course today (and maybe they still do) a lot of young girls and boys should take it.  They teach you to cook and sew which are not bad things to know (even today).  Of course, it would be better if they named the course something else like “How To Live On Your Own And Survive” and some of the boys might take the course.  My sons still do not know how to sew on a button.

Why am I telling you this?  Well the class was supposed to teach us how to sew.  We had to make a dress.  Our moms had to take us to the fabric store to buy the material, thread, buttons, zippers and pattern.  I picked out this simple pattern with cute fabric.  For the next 6 or 8 weeks I learned how to thread a sewing machine, put in a zipper, sew on a button, etc.  My dress came out gorgeous!  Every seam looked perfectly straight.  Every button was exactly where it was supposed to be.  I was meant to work at Simplicity Patterns!  Then I had to try it on.  It would have been gorgeous if one shoulder was just about 2 inches higher than the other.  It also would have helped in one knee was 3 inches lower than the other.  In other words, it would fix Quasimodo perfectly!  Unfortunately my knees and shoulders match.  All I can say it is a good thing I did the cooking section fairly well  because I did pass the course.

Anyway, for those who can not sew you can create awesome quilt patterns with the Christmas Quilt stamp set and matching Quilt Builder Framelits Dies.  Forget the sewing machine and just stamp!

This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  It uses the  new stamp set called Christmas Quilt which is in the new 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  This stamp set has matching Framelits called Quilt Builder Framelits Dies.  This suite is definitely my favorite in the entire catalog.  There are 16 stamps in the set and 15 dies.

Below is a video by Stampin’ Up! using this suite.

Christmas Quilt

Christmas Quilt is a new stamp set that is in the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  Even though the name has the word Christmas in it, it really doesn’t have to be used for the.  I made this birthday card for a friend of mine who is a quilter.  She makes the most gorgeous quilts.  Last year she made me two quilted Christmas stockings for Madelyn and Emory that were just beautiful.  I any case, I thought this card would be very appropriate for her.

Stampin’ Up! actually has a whole suite that goes with this stamp set.  Oh, wait.  I just noticed I didn’t even use the stamp set to make this card.  I only used the matching Framelits called Quilt Builder Framelits (if you buy both in a Bundle you can save 10%).  The suite includes the stamp set, Framelits,  Quilted Designer Series Paper, Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Quilted Christmas 1/4″ Ribbon and Stitched Felt Embellishments.  It is an amazing suite!  Even though I didn’t use all of these products, I will post the links to each below.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Birthday Banners.
