This is the last Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for 2015.  It is brought to us by Heidi.  She decided to do a “Anything Goes” challenge this week.  The only requirement is, your creation must have snow on it.

Anything goes with snow

Here is the card I made for this challenge:

Hearth & Home, Sleigh Ride

I used some products from the Holiday Catalog.  The window is from Hearth & Home Thinlits.  I love this window and I am so happy it is being carried over after the catalog ends on January 3rd.  Unfortunately, most of the other products I used are retiring and that makes me sad.  The Sleigh Ride Edgelits and the stamp set called Happy Scenes (the trees) are also retiring.  The good thing is, Stampin’ Up! has made another stamp set that will go with the Hearth & Home Thinlits for the Occasions Catalog!

To make it look like it is snowing outside the window, I embossed a piece of vellum with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I wanted to write a quick note that I will not be one of the Watercooler Wednesday Artists after this.  I’ve taken a new path in my job and I think it will be hard to keep up with everything for a bit.  I wish all the other artists the best and thank them for allowing me to be a part of their group.

Now check out what the other Watercooler Artists have made for this challenge HERE.

Sleigh Ride Christmas Card

Seligh Ride Edgelits, Delicate Ornaments

I got the idea for this card from Pinterest.  I know you all have heard me talk about Pinterest before so I won’t go on about how great a place it is to find ideas on almost anything (but if you are ever stuck go there for inspiration!).  Ok, I know.  I just told you about it again!

The card I saw was similar to this one but I always like to change it up a bit to make it my own.  I used different colors (very non-traditional Christmas colors).  I added the snowflakes to the background and I used a different sentiment.  I guess you could say, the only idea I got from that card was to use the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits die.  I thought it was so clever!  There are so many creative people out there who are willing to share their ideas.  That is one of the reasons I love to stamp and make cards.

Madelyn had a check up at the doctor’s.   She looks pretty healthy to me!

Sleigh Ride Christmas Card

Sleigh Ride Edgelits

It is that time of year when you need to start thinking about designing your Christmas cards.  It is better to start  now and take your time than to stress out about it at the last minute.  Stampin’ Up! has some great holiday stamp sets, dies and punches in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  I used the new Sleigh Ride Edgelits to make this card.  I think they are beautiful and delicate and make a really nice Christmas card.

If you look closely you can see where my night sky sparkles with little stars.  I first stamped the stars in Whisper White Craft Ink.  Then a spaced dots of glue using the Fine Tip Glue Pen all over the cardstock and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it.  It left little dots of sparkle all over the place.

Here is another of Madelyn’s Halloween Photos.  Apparently, her mother stood her up and Dad took the photo quickly before she toppled over!

Sleigh Ride

Sleigh Ride Thinlits, Happy Scenes

Although summer is almost over, it is still very warm here in Northern New York.  I think the world’s weather has gone crazy lately.  We are either having heat waves or getting rain to the point of drowning.  There doesn’t seem to be a happy medium.  It is ok though.  I would rather put up with hot weather than to think about what is coming right around the corner.  This card actually looks a little refreshing when it is hot out.  It will probably bring me chills in December and I will be wishing for the warmth again.  All I can say is four and a half more years!

I made this card using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies.  The trees and the sentiment are from a stamp set in the Holiday Catalog called Happy Scenes.  The background of snow was made with a new embossing folder called Softly Falling.  I think it adds a nice soft, peaceful feeling to the card.  I guess that is why Stampin’ Up! named it what they did!

Sleigh Ride

Sleigh Ride Edgelits

This is the third card we made at our monthly club meeting last week.  It uses the new Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies that are in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  I love these dies.  I think they look so pretty together.  There are a couple tricks to making it easier to use them though.  First of all, use wax paper between the dies and the cardstock.  This will allow you to pop out the die easier without ripping the finer pieces.  You can use Snail along the bottom of the cardstock but use the new Fine Tip Glue Pen to attach to trees, sleigh and houses.  The pieces are so fine that Snail can tear them.  My ladies discovered this at class.

The sentiment and the tiny snowflakes are from the new stamp set called A LIttle Something.  That is also in the Holiday Catalog.

Here a picture of Madelyn doing a sensory exercise at day care.  Her feet are in oatmeal.  I am not too sure about this but maybe it will help when she is old enough to sit on grass.  I know all three of my boys were scared to death of grass the first time they felt it.
