Glimmery Joy

Wondrous Wreath

Yes, I know, glimmery is not a word (my spell check turns it red when I type it) but I couldn’t think of a better word (or non-word) to describe this card so I am going with it!

One of the bad things about amateur photography is the photos don’t always show the sparkle on a card.  This card has a lot of sparkle!   It glimmers and shines under the lights.  Not so much in the photo though.  In any case I used Gold Glimmer paper for the snowflakes and the cardstock under the Whisper White.  If you have ever purchased the Glimmer paper you know how sparkly it is.  The “Joy” is from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits set and the snowflakes are from the Square Pillow Box Thinlits.

Oh, and there is not stamping on this card!

A Shiny Christmas Wreath

Square Pillow Box, Christmas Greetings Thinlits

Stampin’ Up sells this awesome Foil Paper in three different colors.  You can get it in Gold, Silver and now Red (Red is in the 2015 Holiday Catalog).  I know it is hard to see from the picture but this Foil Paper is so shiny and bright.  It is a great way to add a little elegant sparkle to your projects.

I made the wreath using one of the dies that come in the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies.  It cuts out 3 little leaves.  That set also includes a die that cuts out little pumpkins and trees.  I cut the “merry” out using the die set called Christmas Greetings.  Both of these sets are in the Holiday Catalog.  Lastly, the little bow on top of the wreath is a die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies set which is in the Annual Catalog.

I just realized that I did absolutely no stamping on this card!

Watercooler Wednesday WWC36

Today is another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This time the challenge is to make a 3D project of your choosing.

Square Pillow Box, Vintage Leaves

I decided to make a pillow box using the Square Pillow Box Die.  The difference is, this pillow box is larger than the usual box but is very easy to make.  It is 7 1/4 ” long instead of 4 1/2″.   The ‘Thanks” is one of the Expressions Natural Elements.  I pressed it into a Mossy Meadow ink pad to color it.

Here is a little tutorial on how to make a box this size.

Take one piece of 8 1/4″ by 5″ cardstock and lay it on the Magnetic Platform.  I liked using the Magnetic Platform instead of the normal one because it holds the Thinlit in place.  Make sure the Square Pillow Box Thinlit is right up and one side of the cardstock and the top of the cardstock as shown below (the black arrows are there to show you what I am talking about).

Then lay your second plate partially over the die.  Make sure you line it up as shown in the photo above.  The die will not cut where there isn’t a plate.

Now run it through the Big Shot this way.  Your cardstock will look like this after it is cut.

Now flip your cardstock around and do the exact same thing making sure to line up one edge of your die with the edge of the cardstock as shown in the photo.

Lay your plate partially over the die as shown and then run it through the Big Shot.

You cardstock will look like this  You might have to cut a little bit where the arrows are with your Paper Snips.

You need to do this twice so you have two pieces of cardstock.  Then just put your Pillow Box together the same way you normally would.

You can see the other Watercooler Wednesday artist’s project HERE.  You can also make your own project to share with the rest of us by linking up at the bottom of the page.

Today is another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge Day.  This time the challenge was given to us by Marsha and it was an “Anything Goes” challenge.  That means we can doing anything.  You can make a card, 3D project, scrapbook page or whatever you wish.  It is not too hard of a challenge because I pretty much make anything goes every day.

Curvy Corner Punch, Winter Wishes

I decided to make a photo Christmas card using merchandise from the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  Of course, I had to put Madelyn in the photo card. The Designer Series Paper is called Merry Moments.  I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch for the frame around the photo.  The holly leaves were made from die in the Square Pillow Box Thinlits and the berries were punched using the Cupcake Punch.

Now you can make an “Anything Goes” project and post it to our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge web site HERE.  It is not too hard.  Just make anything!

A Beautiful Fall Day

Happy Scenes, Hearth & Home

This is the second card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  I reminds me of looking out my windows on a crisp Fall day.  Unfortunately those Fall days are going to be upon us quicker than we thought.  Although it is only mid-September you can already tell the cooler days will arrive soon.

This card uses an awesome bundle from the 2015 Holiday Catalog. The stamp set is called Happy Scenes.  It has a Fall scene (the one we used) a snowy winter scene and a cold winter day scene.  It also has cute little corner dies (such as the spider one above).  The window is a die from the set call Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies.  I love these dies!  The little leaves is a die from the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Die set.

Here is another photo of Madelyn’s four month birthday.  She looks a little unsure about this miniature Waffles stuffed animal.  Maybe she is thinking “now this is more my size!”.

Square Pillow Box Die

Square Pillow Box Die, A Little Something

This is the first project we made at our monthly Stamp Club Meeting.  It uses the new Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies that are in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  This pillow box is so easy to make!  Watch the video below to see how easy it is.  It is a great way to give gifts at Christmas time or really any time.  The finished project is about 4 3/8″ by 4″.

This project also uses a few other new items that are in the Holiday Catalog too.  One of them is the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.  It punch makes three different shapes in one punch.  One of the shapes is shown on the piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock corners in the photo above.  It also uses some Designer Series Paper called Merry Moments.  This paper is 6″ x 6″ and comes in 4 different patterns.

Last but not least it uses a stamp set called A Little Something.  You can buy the stamp set and the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies in a bundle and save 15%.

Watch the video below to see how to make this project.
