A Masculine Stamp Off Challenge

TGIF!  It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge.  This time Jackie gave us a challenge to make a masculine card.  These are probably the hardest to do (for me).

Here is my card:

I decided to use the stamp set called Balloon Adventures.  This set is in the Occasions Catalog.  I am really hoping it will make it into the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  I guess we will find that out on June 1st!.  If I had my way, most of the sets in the Occasions Catalog will carry over but I don’t always have my way.  I can only hope!

I used Designer Series Paper from two different packages.  The gray piece is from the Sale-a-bration pack called Carried Away.  You can get this package of Designer Series Paper for free with a qualifying order until the end of March.  Then it will disappear forever.  The Night of Navy DSP is from a pack in the Annual Catalog called Floral Boutique.  One of the things about DSP in the Annual Catalog is that it rarely carries over to the next catalog.  So if you like it, you need to get it soon.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made.  I am sure we will all be pleasantly surprised.  They are two awesome stampers and I am honored to be included in this group with them.

Christmas Thank You Cards

Endless Thanks, Stars Framelits, Fancy Frost, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Here is a quick and easy card I made for thanking people for Christmas gifts I received.  I needed something easy because I found I didn’t have a lot of time and wanted to get my thank you cards out.

I used the Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper for the background.  I love this paper because it is textured with different designs so it adds a lot of dimension to the card.  This paper is in the 2016 Holiday Catalog and will be retiring when the catalog is over so if you like it you will need to order it before January 3rd.

I cut the star out using the Stars Framelits and This Christmas Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment and banner are from the stamp set called Endless Thanks.

A Patriotic Stamp Off Challenge

Stamp Off Logo Clean

It is my favorite day of the week and another Stamp Off Challenge.  This time our challenge was to make a patriotic card to celebrate the Fourth Of July.

stamp off patriotic

Of course, I had to use Real red Whisper White and Night Of Navy.  What other colors could you possibly use when making a patriotic card?!

Thoughtful Banners

This card was easy to make because I had a ton of real red scraps leftover from trimming cards.  It did take a while to line all those strips up, but it wasn’t too bad.
Happy Birthday, America!

Now let’s go check out Jackie’s and Buffy’s blogs to see what wonderful projects they did!

#ImBringingBirthdaysBack

Number of Years, Large Numbers

Shannon West has started a new “movement” to bring birthdays back.  She decided that Facebook and other social media web sites have ruined birthdays because it is easier to write Happy Birthday to someone on Facebook instead of sending them a card.  She is right!  I would much rather have a birthday card sent to me than see birthday wishes on Facebook.  I bet the majority of you would too so I am joining her with “#Imbringingbirthdaysback”.

I made this birthday card using a stamp set from the 2016 Occasion Catalog called Number of Years.  This stamp set also has a set of matching Framelits called Large Numbers and you can not only save 15% by buying them both in a bundle but you are just $.75 away from getting something free from the Sale-a-bration Catalog. If you look closely, you can see I added a little sparkle to the numbers using the Wink Of Stella in clear.

I know this set is a little pricey but I think you will use it for years to come!  You can use it for birthdays, anniversaries and graduations.  You never have to buy another year stamp set (such as 2016).  It comes with some flowers, a banner (which is awesome) and all the needed ordinals (th, st, etc).  If you buy anything from Stampin’ Up!, you need to buy this set.

Happy Birthday, Everyone

Happy Birthday Everyone

This card uses a hostess stamp set from Stampin’ Up called Happy Birthday, Everyone!  It is a great set to own.  I love the large Happy Birthday stamp that comes with it.  The only thing is there is good news and bad news associated with the set.  The bad news is you can’t just outright buy this set.  In order to be able to purchase it, you have to either have an order that is $150 or more (you can do that by yourself or you can get some friends to place an order with you) or you can have a stampin’ party.  You have to earn Stampin’ Rewards to purchase this.  If you are interested in learning more, feel free to contact me.

Somehow Madelyn got her hands out of the swaddle.  It makes her look so sweet and innocent (which she is!!).

You’re A Star!

Pictogram Pictures, Star Framelits

During Sale-A-Bration (January 6th – March 31st) you can get free product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog for every $50 you order.  If you order $100 you can get 2 free products and $150 would get you 3 items.  There is no limit to the numbers of items you can get free with a qualifying purchase.

If you purchased the merchandise I used to make this card, you would be eligible to get one free items from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I used the Star Framelits ($26.95), Pictogram Punches Stamp Set ($21.95 Wood Mount) and Bermuda Bay Ink ($5.95).  The trick to making the stars look like they overlap is to cut a slice in one of them and then hide the slice underneath another star.  Magic!  Well, not really but if you didn’t know the secret you might wonder!

Make A Wish

Perfect Pennants

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas yesterday and that all of you had all of your wishes granted.  My Christmas was wonderful, although I missed my youngest son, Zachary a lot.  He couldn’t be with us this year because he deployed.  I think it is the first Christmas he has not been here since he was born and it made me sad.

I made this card using the stamp sets called Perfect Pennants and Gorgeous Grunge.  The first time I saw Gorgeous Grunge I thought it was appropriate for road kill.  It looked like a lot of blood splatter.  Now I love it.  It is the perfect set to add a little color without going overboard.

A Bright & Beautiful Christmas

Bright & Beautiful, Striped Scallop

In case you didn’t know, Christmas is just around the corner.  You really need to be working on those cards in order to get them out on time.  Of course, some people mail their Christmas cards after the 25th.  I have a cousin who does.  I am not sure why, but she does it every year.  Maybe she figures her card will get lost with all the other cards being sent.

I made this Christmas card using a stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called Bright and Beautiful.  This set has matching Star Framelits so you don’t need to cut out any stars.  Your Big Shot will do it for you!  The half circles are actually part of a Thinlit called Striped Scallop.  I love this Thinlits but you have to remember to use waxed paper between the die and the cardstock so the cut cardstock comes out easily.

Many Merry Stars

Many Merry Stars

I made this card using one of the new Photopolymer Stamp Sets that is in the 2014 Holiday Supplement Catalog.  It is called Many Merry Stars and matching the Stars Framelits that are in the Annual Catalog.  If you already own these star Framelits then this would be a great set to add to your collection.  The only problem is, this set is “as supplies last” so if you want it, you might want to order it soon before it runs out.

One of the nice things about Photopolymer Stamps is you can bend them a little.  The sentiment in this set was already a little bit curved but I wanted it to be a little more curved so it would match the curve of a Framelit I own.  It came out perfectly.

Very Merry Stars

Star Framelits, Glimmer Paper

As you all know, I love stars and was so happy when Stampin’ Up! included a lot of stamp sets, an embossing folder, a border punch and some Framelits all in the shape of stars!  As a result of this, you have seen a lot of cards made with stars!  Well, here is one more!

I used the Star Framelits to cut out the two larger ones on Whisper White Paper.  Then I cut out smaller ones using Golf Glimmer Paper.  This card really sparkles when under light.  It is hard to see in a photograph (especially a photograph from someone who doesn’t know a thing about taking photos!).  The “Very Merry” stamp is from the stamp set called And Many More
