Little Elephant

I think Little Elephant is one of the cutest stamp sets for little people that Stampin’ Up!® has ever had.  I just love those little guys.  Plus it has a matching punch which makes it even more fun and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

Of course, they may be a reason I love this set so much.  Yes!  I am going to have another grandchild and last week we found out it is going to be a girl!  Honestly, I am not sure how this keeps happening (the girl part!!).  Obviously it is genetics but it still boggles my mind.  My father was from a family with all boys.  His brother and he had all girls.  I had all boys and now my three sons had all girls (for their first child).  How weird is that?  Of course, we also have Nolan but it is still strange that each of my boys had a girl first.  Anyway, I am in girl heaven.  I never got to buy girly clothes and I love it!  Madelyn’s father did tell me that she really needed play clothes more than cute, sparkly, frilly dresses but too bad.  He can buy the play clothes!  Anyway, the parents to be did a baby reveal.  They had the ultrasound technician write down the sex of the baby and put it in a sealed envelope.  They gave it to a friend who had a ballon and a fake bottle of champagne filled with pink confetti so when they popped them pink confetti went flying everywhere!

The colors I used on this card are Grapefruit Grove and Gorgeous Grape.  I first stamped the elephant in Gorgeous Grape and punched it out using the Elephant Builder Punch.  I stamped the balloons in Grapefruit Grove, adhered the elephant and then cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  The sentiment was also cut out using these dies.  The Designer Series Paper is called In Color 6″ X 6″ (2018-2020).  The ribbon is 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon in Gorgeous Grape.

A Christmas Card Challenge

Good morning everyone.  Today is another day for a new Stamp Off Challenge.  This time our challenge is to make a Christmas Card (or project).

Here is the front of my card.

I decided to make a Fun Fold Card so here is what happens when you open the next part of the card.

This is what it looks like when you open the last part of the card.

I used the stamp set called Timeless Tidings.  This is a great holiday sentiment set that is in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  I really like the font and there are also three little images (the other two are a poinsettia and holly).  The Designer Series Paper  is called Festive Farmhouse.  I love this paper so much I actually used it on my personal Christmas cards I sent out.  I will show you that card in the next couple of weeks.  The colors I used are Gray Granite (one of my new favorite colors) and Cherry Cobbler (an old favorite).

Here are some of the dimensions of the cardstock I used.

4.25″ x 5.5″ Gray Granite cardstock (for the card base)

3″ x 11″ Whisper White cardstock scored at 5.5″

3″ x 5.5″ piece of Designer Series Paper

3.25″ x 5.5″ Cherry Cobbler cardstock

1″ x 5.5″ Cherry Cobbler cardstock (for the banner) scored at 4 1/8″.  I hand cut the points on the end.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made.  It is alway such a pleasant surprise!

Merry Christmas To All

I forgot to show the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting in November.  We made it using products from the All Is Bright Suite in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  The stamp set is called Merry Christmas To All.  It has a ton of different sentiments that all go with each other plus a label and some swishes.  Of course, they are matching dies called Merry Christmas Thinlits dies that have big sentiments (which you all know I love).

To make this I first cut out the “Merry” using the Thinlits from the Galvanized Metallic Paper and adhered it to an oval cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies in Whisper White cardstock.  Then I stamped the word Christmas onto Real Red cardstock with Versamark and embossed it using Stampin’ Emboss Powder in White and heating it with the Heat Tool.  The Merry Christmas Thinlits have a die that cut out the sentiment.  The Designer Series Paper is called Under The Mistletoe and is in the 2018/2019 Annual Catalog.  Lastly I cut out two sprigs using the Sprig Punch and adhered them underneath the sentiment.  The card base is Old Olive cardstock.

A Fall Challenge

Good morning! Today is another Stamp Off challenge with Buffy, Jackie and me.  This time we needed to make a Fall or Thanksgiving card.

I decided to use the stamp set called Colorful Seasons.  This is a great stamp set because it covers all the seasons.  There are snowflakes for winter, flowers for summer and spring and the cutest Adirondack chair to watch all the seasons go by.

To make this card I first stamped all the leaves in Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Rich Razzleberry.  The sentiment is from Labels To Love.  I used my amazing Stamparatus to stamp the different colors.  First I covered with sentiment with medical tape and inked the leaves in Shaded Spruce.  Then leaving the stamp in the exact same place, I covered the leaves and inked the sentiment in Cajun Craze.  The Stamparatus lets you line up the stamp multiple times.  I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Then I mounted it with Dimensionals onto a piece of Crushed Curry and then Cajun Craze card stock that was cut out using the Layering Circles Dies. I decided it needed something more so I cut out a leaf using the Seasonal Layers die in Rich Razzleberry.

Now let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made with the Fall/Thanksgiving theme.

Rooted In Nature

Have you tried the new Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper yet?  It is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2018/2019 Annual Catalog.  It is absolutely beautiful and makes a great background for a card.  One side of the paper is Whisper White and one side is Very Vanilla.  I used one of the pieces from it on this card.

To make this card I first attached the piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper on a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock.  I used Multipurpose Glue to do this.  Then I stamped the tree and leaves from the stamp set called Rooted In Nature and cut them out using the matching Framelits called Nature’s Roots.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink and cut it out using an oval from the Stitched Shapes dies.  The last thing I did was color three droplets from the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets that are in the Holiday Catalog using my Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.

Dandelion Wishes

Last week was one of the best weeks ever!  I went to Nashville for Nolan’s first birthday so I got to spend some time with Sam, Tara, Nolan and Madelyn.  Tara’s parents were there too and we haven’t seen them in a long time.  After having a great time there I drove to Alabama to see Zachary, Mary and Emory!  In one week’s time I got to see all the grandchildren!  What could be better than that!  Of course, there will be pictures to follow!

I made this card using the stamp set called Dandelion Wishes.  This is one of the most popular stamp sets in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  First I stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bliss ink and then the Dandelions in Smoky Slate.  I cut out the circle using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.  The Designer Series Paper is called Best Route and is also in the Annual Catalog.  Lastly, I added the bow using some 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Grapefruit Grove.

Peaceful Poinsettia

This is the second card we made at our monthly stamp club.  It uses the stamp set called Peaceful Poinsettia.  This stamp set has matching dies called Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits.  The die set is great because it cuts out some of the images in the stamp set but it also cuts out different shapes such as a beautiful Poinsettia outline and inside.  It is gorgeous.  You can see what I mean HERE.

I did things a little differently with this card.  I let them choose which way they wanted to use the die.  One way uses the die as you normally would.  It cuts out the image using your Big Shot.  The other way is to use the Big Shot Embossing Mat so it only leaves an impression of the design without cutting it out.  You can see the difference in the photos below.

Can you see how the first one cuts out the image and the second photo embosses the image?  Honestly, I don’t know which one I like better.  What do you think?

Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper

This is a quick and easy card using just a few supplies from Stampin’ Up!  Honestly, the longest part was deciding which sentiment to use!

The Blackberry Bliss background of this card is actually a note card that comes that way.  It is called Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes.  All I had to do was fold it in half.  They even come scored already so it truly isn’t hard to fold.  There are 20 cards and envelopes in this pack.  Ten are in Blackberry Bliss and ten are in Mint Macaron.

After the very tiring folding I adhered a piece of the Delightfully Detailed  Laser-Cut Specialty Paper (the lacy circle part).  Now to be totally honest here I had already cut the panels for another card I made earlier.  Then I just stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss and cut it out using Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Detailed With Love.

By now you might realize that all of these products (except the Stitched Shapes Framelits) have the word detailed in it.  That is because they are all part of a Stampin’ Up! Suite called Delightfully Detailed.  The suite also includes a punch, some ribbon and Faceted Dots.  Stampin’ Up! puts products that go together in Suites to make it easier for you.  It is awesome!

Stitched All Around

Stitched All Around is a new stamp set that is in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  It has a set of matching Framelits called Stitched Labels and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  The stamp set is has some cute sentiments but the dies is what drew me to this suite in the first place.

There are ten dies in this set.  They are mostly label dies which make them perfect for sentiments but there are a few other dies in the set that really add to it.  If you look at my card you can see the pattern that one of the dies makes.  It doesn’t cut out a shape.  It just pierces the cardstock to make this cute X pattern.  Plus it has two straight dies that add piercings to your cardstock.  One makes x’s and the other makes dots.  You are going to love this set of Framelits!

On a side note, here is a picture of Emory Jade.  She is growing up so fast and is already 16 months old!  She is the cutest and sassiest little southern girl.  Just look at those eyes!  She looks just like her Mama.

Varied Vases

Today is my daughter-in-law, Tara’s birthday.  Tara is an awesome person.  She is a terrific mother to two of my fabulous grandchildren (Madelyn and Nolan).  She is a kind and patient wife to my son, Sam and she is a considerate and loving daughter-in-law.  Right now Tara and the family are in the midst of moving from Cleveland to Nashville.  They are kind of in limbos they have sold their house in Cleveland buy have not moved to Nashville quite yet.  I feel badly because I could not send her a birthday gift or even a card because there is no address to send it to so I want her to know that I hope she has a wonderful day and to tell her I love her.

I made this card using a new stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog called Varied Vases.  This stamp set has a matching punch called Vases Builder Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

I found the sketch for this card on Pinterest so I am not sure where it came from.  I stamped the vases in Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay and Flirty Flamingo.  Then I layered them over a square cut out with a die from Stitched Shapes.  I stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Happy Birthday Tara!  I owe you a card and a gift!
