A Bright & Beautiful Christmas

Bright & Beautiful, Striped Scallop

In case you didn’t know, Christmas is just around the corner.  You really need to be working on those cards in order to get them out on time.  Of course, some people mail their Christmas cards after the 25th.  I have a cousin who does.  I am not sure why, but she does it every year.  Maybe she figures her card will get lost with all the other cards being sent.

I made this Christmas card using a stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called Bright and Beautiful.  This set has matching Star Framelits so you don’t need to cut out any stars.  Your Big Shot will do it for you!  The half circles are actually part of a Thinlit called Striped Scallop.  I love this Thinlits but you have to remember to use waxed paper between the die and the cardstock so the cut cardstock comes out easily.

Another August Birthday Card

Amazing Birthday

I got the idea for this card from Shelli Gardner.  Shelli is the Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up!  She has a blog where she occasionally posts pictures of cards she has made or received.  Her blog address is www.soshelli.com in case you want to check it out.  Anyway, she made a card that sort of, but not really, looked like this.  I just took her design and made it my own.  It is called CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) and is perfectly allowable.  Whenever you CASE something, it is always nice to give the original card maker credit.

I used a few different stamp sets to make this card.  They are Amazing Birthday, Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop, Petite Petals, and Gorgeous Grunge.  I used a new Thinlit called Striped Scallop as well as all the punches that match the flower stamps.
