Decorative Masks Challenge

Hello everyone.  It is, once again, time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This time our challenge was to use our Decorative Masks.  I love masks (or stencils) so I was happy to see this one.  As I often do, I cheated a bit on this challenge.  I didn’t use one of the current masks but instead choose a retired one that was part of a kit a few years back.  I did a huge clean out when we moved to Nashville last Fall and I found so many things I had forgotten about.  Most of the things I kept but a lot when in the trash.  This mask was a keeper!  When I unpacked in the new house, I tried to organize a little better than I was in the old house and managed to put all my masks in one place so when I went through them I found this starburst one.

Here is the card I made using this mask.

Stampin Up True Love

To make the background I used So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and BumbleBee.  I decided to add a little Mango Melody too.  I first taped down a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Basic White card stock using removable tape.  That way the card stock would not move while I was added the color.   I sprayed the back of my mask using Pixie Spray so it would not move either.  You could also used Washi Tape or another removable tape to do this.   I used a Blending Brush to add the So Saffron ink all the way around.  Then I turned the mask a little bit and used Daffodil Delight ink.  I kept doing this until I had used all the colors I wanted.  Then I cut the card stock down to 3.5″ x 4.25″.  I thought it was a very cool effect.  It looks like a sunburst with a ton of little rays.I backed it with a piece of Mango Melody card stock.

Next I took a piece of True Love Designer Series Paper and cut out one of the flower images.  This DSP is awesome because it is all black and white and you can color it using your Stampin Blends.  I used Light and Dark Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green.  This Designer Series Paper will be retiring when the January – June Catalog ends on June 30th.

I cut out the sentiment in Basic Black card stock using the die set called Well Written.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie did with masks.  I am sure whatever they make will be amazing!

Wreath Builder Valentine

Have you had a chance to look at the amazing 2021 January – June Mini Catalog?  It has so many amazing products that I had a hard time choosing.  One of the things I did order were these gorgeous Designer Series Papers.  They are both part of the Love You Always Suite and they look even more amazing in person than in the catalog.

The background I used for this card is the Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The colors of this paper are beautiful.  The come in Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose and Sahara Sand.  The backgrounds are all shiny and the designs are foil.  I used the Blushing Bride piece for this card.  The design is like a lighter copper foil and coordinates with the Love You Always Foil Sheets.

To make this card I first took a piece of the Love You Always Foil Sheets and cut out two wreaths using the Wreath Builder Dies.   Then I cut out the heart which is also part of the Wreath Builder Dies.  It cuts out the word “LOVE” in the middle.  I backed the heart with a piece of Basic White cardstock and then cut out the word “you” in white also.  This die is part of the Well Written Die set.

I know it is hard to capture the beauty of this paper so here is a close up.  It really is gorgeous in person.

Playing With Patterns

Stampin Up Playing With Patterns

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are all enjoying your summer (or winter depending on where you live).  Our summer has been hot and sunny which is perfect lake weather.  If it gets too hot we can just go jump in the lake.

Today I have been playing with the Stampin Up Playing With Patterns Suite.  This suite is in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  It includes a stamp set called Pattern Play, dies called Playful Alphabet, cute Designer Series Paper, ribbon and embellishments.  I love the dies and the DSP the best so I made a card using them.

The first thing I did was cut out the letters in Just Jade cardstock that I had cut out using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I had a little bit of a hard time lining them up until I saw a Jennifer McGuire video showing how she does it with a T-ruler.  This method worked perfectly with my die cutting machine magnetic plate.  I just placed them on the piece of cardstock a little lower than where I wanted them to cut out and then pushed them up slowly with my T-ruler until they were where I wanted them.  Then I just ran them through my die cutting machine.  After I cut them out I backed them with a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock.

These particular letter (the A & 2 P’s) have little pieces in the middle of them.  To place them perfectly I put the letters back into where I had cut them put a little Multipurpose Glue in the center and then fitted the little middle piece inside.  Then I just pulled the letters out and will save them for a future card.

The sentiment “birthday” is from the set of dies called Well Written.  I wanted to use the new Foam Adhesive Sheets with it to make it stand out a bit so I layered a piece of Bumblebee cardstock on top of a piece of the Foam Adhesive sheets and cut it out.   The Foam Adhesive Sheets are like Dimensionals only they are 4 1/2″ x 4 5/16″.  It took 3 or 4 runs through my die cutting machine to cut it out but it worked great.  I think it is because the dies are so skinny.  I love these new sheets.

Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up is a stamp set that is in the current Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog but will be retiring this year.  This stamp set has matching dies called Up & Away which will also be retiring.  This is a great stamp set that has 16 stamps in all.  It includes hot air balloons, clouds and a ton of very cute sentiments.  There are 15 dies in the set, one of which cuts out the amazing balloon and background pieces I used on this card.

To make this card, I first used a mask from Pattern Party Decorative Masks set.  This pack includes 4 different masks including the cloud one.  I used a Stamping Sponge with Balmy Blue Ink and then added a little Smoky Slate along the bottom of the clouds to give them a little depth. I then cut out the outline of the hot air balloon in Basic Black cardstock and the pieces used behind the outline in Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, and Gorgeous Grape.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Well Said and the matching dies called Well Written.   This stamp set and the dies will be in the new catalog but you won’t be able to save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle so if you like this set you will need to order it before June 4th.

Rooted In Nature

This is another card we made is our monthly club meeting.  I “borrowed” this idea from Buffy.  She made a great video showing how to get different colors in the tree.  She used Watercolor Paper, a different stamp set and spritzed the paper, which I did not but the cards are similar and I got the idea after watching her video.

You need to have a Stamparatus to make this card.  This is because you stamp the image over and over using different colors so you have exact placement every time.  This would be impossible to do without the Stamparatus.

To make this card, I first placed a piece of removable tape along the bottom of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  Then I sponged So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam ink onto it.  When you remove the tape, it leaves a clean line where there is no ink.

Then I placed the piece of sponged cardstock into the Stamparatus and then placed the stamp where I wanted it.  I used various Stampin’ Write Markers to make the leaves different shades of green.  I first randomly put Granny Apple Green ink with a marker on the stamp and then stamped it using the Stamparatus.  Then I did the same thing in different parts of the stamp with Old Olive, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz.  The last thing I did was color the branches and trunk of the tree with an Early Espresso marker.  Here is a close up of the tree where you can see the different colors a little better.

The sentiments are from the stamp set called Well Said and the matching dies called Well Written.  Everything I used on this card will be in the 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  That makes me happy!

Well Written & Painted Seasons DSP

Here is another card made with a new product you can get for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration.  It is called Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper and it is gorgeous!

Here is a video showing you about this Designer Series Paper, the matching stamp set also called Painted Seasons and the Four Seasons Framelits Dies.  Please keep in mind that originally the stamps and the paper were in a Bundle.  Stampin’ Up!® has decided to separate them so you can now get the paper with a $50 order or the paper and the stamps for $100.

I made this card using a sketch I found online.  I apologize because I forgot to note who the sketch belongs to.  I just saw it on Pinterest so if it is your sketch, please let me know and I will give you credit.

Can you believe there is absolutely no stamping with this card?  It only uses the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper and the Well Written Dies that are in the 2019 Occasions Catalogs.  These dies are amazing.  There are 24 dies in the set and there is a matching stamp set called Well Said that matches them.  I will put both the Bundle and each item separate in my links below.

The colors I used for this card are Petal Pink, Poppy Parade and Call Me Clover.  The little butterfly is also included in the Well Written Die Set.  I popped up the piece of cardstock with the DSP on it using Dimensionals.

Take advantage of the free merchandise you can earn during Sale-a-bration before March 31st. There is no limit to how many items you can get.  Place a $50 order and get one product.  Place a $100 and you can get two products, etc.

A Well Written, Well Said Piece Of Cake

This card uses four new products from the 2019 Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog.   They are the stamp set called Piece Of Cake with a matching punch called Cake Builder Punch and the stamp set called Well Said with the matching dies called Well Written Framelits.  Both of these Bundles can be purchased at 10% off.

Piece of Cake is on Page 18 of the catalog.  It has six different double layered cakes, along with a cake stand, sentiments and various things to decorate your cake with.  The Cake Builder Punch cuts out the cakes and the cake stand.  I stamped both images in Memento Black Ink and then colored them with my Smoky Slate and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.  Then I cut both of them out using the punch.

Well Said is on page 27 of the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  You can buy this set and the matching Well Written Framelits dies in a Bundle and get 10% off.  These dies are amazing.  There are 24 dies in the set.  Most of them are words you would use frequently such a “happy”, “thanks”, “love” and others.  There are a couple of leaves and flower dies too.  This is one set that is a must have if you make cards.

Quick & Easy Cards Part IV

Welcome back to fourth post in my Quick & Easy cards using Designer Series Paper series.  If you missed the first three posts you can see them HERE, HERE and HERE.  This series shows those of you who think you don’t have time to make nice cards, how to make them and be able to share them with family and friends plus they get you to use your stash of beautiful Designer Series Paper.

This card uses the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack as a background.  The Happiness Blooms also has Designer Series Paper called Happiness Blooms so you could use either.  I first stamped the word “Best” using Night Of Navy ink onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and then punched it out using the Tailored Tag Punch. This stamp comes from the set called Well Said.  It has matching dies called Well Written Framelits.  They are both in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Then I cut out the word “wishes” from this set of dies and adhered it to the Tag.  I wrapped a piece of 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Call Me Clover around the Paper and placed the tag over it.  Lastly, I adhered it all to a piece of Call Me Clover and Soft Sea Foam cardstock.

Again, this card took less than five minutes to make and uses that Designer Series Paper that is sitting on your shelf!  You know I am talking to you!

Come back tomorrow to see the last card in my Quick & Easy card series.
