Vintage Leaves

Vintage Leaves is another stamp set that will be retiring in a couple of days.  This is such a great set to own.  It has matching Framelits called Leaflets and is perfect for those chilly fall days when the leaves are turning and the colors are awesome.  Believe me, if you do not own this set you will regret it in the Fall!

It is not Fall right now so I decided to use more summery colors.  I stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide and So Saffron.  I decided I wanted to soften them a bit so I sponged them with these colors too.

Unfortunately, I used the Brick Wall Embossing Folder on this card which has already sold out and is unavailable for purchase now.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes which is another must-have stamp set that is retiring.  I stamped it using Tranquil Tide ink and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch  This punch will be in the new catalog.  I layered on top of a piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon,

Remember, there is only a couple of days left to buy the items on the Retirement List.  On Friday these items will be gone for good!

If you need any more convincing, here are a couple of more cards I made in the past using the Vintage Leaves stamp set.

Heartfelt Blooms From A Friend

I had the most wonderful surprise in the mail the other day from Buffy Cooper.  She had made a beautiful card and posted it on her blog and I commented about how gorgeous it was.  The next thing I know, I am getting it in the mail.  Isn’t it beautiful?!?

Buffy used the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Heartfelt Blooms.  You can get this stamp set for free with a $50 order.  She stamped it with Blushing Bride ink on Very Vanilla cardstock twice.  She cut out one piece using the Layering Circles Dies and used the other piece for the background.  She then embossed a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder and cut a the scalloped piece with the same dies.  She used Gold 1/8″ Ribbon, 1/4″ Copper Trim and Metallic Thread in Copper behind the circle.  Lastly she added three little Pearl Basic Jewels on the bottom right corner.  My description does not do this card justice.  It really is so beautiful in real life.

Thank you Buffy for sending me this card.  It is my favorite of all the cards I have seen with the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set.

Remember, during Sale-a-bration you can earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase or get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order)! You can also join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $101)!!

Christmas Pines

Earlier this week I was talking about using some of the older but still current products that we tend to forget about when new things come out.  It is kind of like when waving new shiny things in front of you, you forget what you are doing.

Christmas Pines is another stamp set that is in the 2017/2018 Stamping’ Up! Annual Catalog that I had forgotten about.  It is a beautiful stamp set that has matching Thinlits called Pretty Pines.  I love these Thinlits because they make beautiful pine cones and sprigs of pine branches.  My next door neighbor is so talented and she has these on her windows of her house (for real).  They are just beautiful and I wish I was that talented.  I keep trying to get her to come decorate my house but she still hasn’t shown up!  She is an amazing gardener her.  I won’t even talk about what my gardens look like!  They are pathetic!

New Stampin’ Up! Cat Punch

Although I am not a cat lover or a Halloween card maker, I love the new Stamping’ Up! Cat Punch that is in the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  I just think it is very cute and as long as it doesn’t cross my path, I will be ok.

When I was in high school a friend and I were going to visit my grandparents in Vermont. They used to live in Manchester Depot which is near Bromley, Magic Mountain and Stratton ski resorts and we loved to ski.  We left super early one morning and on my way to pick up my friend a black cat crossed my path.  I was not (and am still not) a very superstitious person but later that day I hit black ice and totaled my parents car.  It makes you wonder but I think I’ll be ok with this punch.

This punch has a matching stamp set called Spooky Cat and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  You can use them for Halloween or not.  Cats are year round animals!  The sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams and the background was made using the Brick Embossing Folder.

At Home With You

This is the first card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  It uses a stamp set that is in the 2017/2018 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog called At Home With You.  This stamp set has matching Framelits Dies called At Home and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  The background uses the Embossing Folder called Brick Wall.

One of the fun things about this Bundle is how the Framelits cut the door out on three sides so it opens.  Here is a picture of the card with it open.

Isn’t that fun?

Speaking of fun, whenever we have our monthly stamp club meetings the men of the families get together at a local restaurant for dinner and a couple of drinks.  They call it the Stampin’ Widows Club.  I am not sure how well they behave themselves at their “meeting”.  I have seen some crazy pictures and they tend to stay out longer than our club meeting lasts.  I am thinking they are having a little too much fun!

Hang Your Stocking

Hang Your Stocking, Christmas Stocking, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

I know it is not Thanksgiving yet, but if you make your own Christmas cards you need to start thinking about it.  The 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog has a ton of great stamp sets, dies and accessories to make Christmas card creations easier.  This is just one example of the many sets you could use.

This card uses the stamp set called Hang Your Stockings.  This set has matching dies called Christmas Stocking Thinlits and you can save 30% by purchasing them before November 28th!  I love this set because the stockings are so cute.  A few years ago, Stampin’ Up had another stocking set that had a matching punch, but this set is so much better.  The stockings are bigger plus the dies make so many variations.  It has great sentiments and I love the little touch of holly.  One of the best parts of this set is the “Noel” die cut.  I think that is adorable!

Remember, Thanksgiving is in just a couple of days so think about getting your Christmas hat on!

Warm Winter Wishes

Winter Wishes

First of all, I want to thank the “No Contact” orders I received this week.  Although I would love to know who you are because I want to personally thank you, I also respect your wish to remain anonymous.  In any case, thank you!

I got the idea for this card from my friend, Buffy.  Usually cards that are made with the Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies have the window looking outside.  This is probably because the matching stamp set called Happy Scenes are outside scenes.  Buffy made a card using this die looking into the house.  I thought that was pretty clever!

The “curtains” are made using the new In Color 1: Dotted Lace Trim in Delightful Dijon.  Ok, I have to admit, I am not a fan of this color.  I usually like to give the new colors a little time before I decide whether I like them or not but this one just hasn’t grown on me yet.  In any case, the color went well with my brick wall.  The curtains remind me of a grandmother’s house.

To try to make up for the ugly curtains, here is a picture of Madelyn.  This is sure to make anyone smile!  She likes to roll over onto her stomach but then gets mad because she really doesn’t like to be on her stomach.  Silly girl!

Flower Pots On A Wall For Freshly Made Sketches 200

Gifts From The Garden, Brick Wall

Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th Challenge with lots of prizes.  Here is this week’s sketch:

FMS+Final+200+Vers_2-001

I love the new embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! called Brick Wall.  It is so much fun to play with.  You can use it to make so many things.  I used Cajun Craze cardstock and then sponged it a little with Chocolate Chip ink to “dirty  up” the brick.  I am not sure I have ever seen a clean brick wall.  The flowers and flower pots are from Gift From The Garden.  I colored them using Stampin’ Write Markers (Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Elegant Eggplant and Watermelon Wonder) .  The sentiment is from Sheltering Tree.  I love the font that is used with the sentiments in that stamp set.

Happy Birthday Everyone!

Happy Birthday Everyone

This is another card we made at our monthly Club Meeting.  I love this card because it shows off so many of the new products in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  First, there is the awesome hostess stamp set called Happy Birthday, Everyone.  You can only get this set with an order of $150 or more.  Remember you don’t have to order alone to make this goal.  You can get some friends to place an order together and then earn this set.

I also used a new Embossing Folder called Brick Wall (surprisingly enough!).  This folder is larger than our regular folders.  It is actually 6″ x 6″ so you can emboss a larger piece of card stock.  Lastly, but certainly not least, we used the new Banner Triple Punch to make the banners.  It is so easy to do.  If you like banners you need to get this punch.  It is amazing!

Watercooler Challenge WCC28

Banner1

It is that time again for a Watercooler Challenge!  This time Buffy gave us a color challenge.  I don’t know why, but I had a hard time with this one.  I guess that is why they call it a challenge!  If it was easy, then it might not be as much fun.  Here are the colors we needed to use:

Wondrous Wreath

I managed to use four out of the five.  I just couldn’t fit that last one into my design without getting a rash.  I used the Christmas stamp set called Wondrous Wreath but made it a spring/summer wreath instead of a Christmas one.  The background is a new embossing folder called Brick Wall and the punch at the bottom is also new and is called Washi Label.  The sentiment is from Tin Of Cards.

If you would like to see the other participant’s gorgeous creations, click HERE.  We would love for you to participate.  Just make a card using these colors (or as many of them as you can without giving yourself a rash) and post it to the Watercooler Challenge web site!
