Celebration Time

I know December is usually full of Christmas cards and ideas but it is also one of the busiest months I have for birthdays. I have 15 birthdays to celebrate between December 1st and Christmas Day. That means you are going to see a lot of birthday cards. That is ok though. Birthdays are year round so I know you all need lots of ideas!

I used the stamp set called Celebration Time to make this card. This stamp set has matching dies called Celebration and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. The dies in this set are a lot of fun because not only do they include the dies needed to cut out the stamps, there are also a couple of other dies. Two of them make fun tags so you could have your present tag match your card.

A Stamp Off Color Challenge

TGIF and time for another Stamp Off Challenge. This time we have a color challenge. I love these colors separately but when you put them together, they are even better!

I decided to make a masculine card using these colors.

I chose the stamp set Guy Greetings. It is the best set to use when making a masculine card. I am so happy that Stampin’ Up! is carrying it over to the new catalog. This set has 22 stamps and you can get it in wood mount, clear mount and Photopolymer.

For the background I used the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder. Have you tried these new folders yet? You really need to. They emboss a deeper pattern into the paper which makes it look 3D. Here is a hint: Stampin’ Up! is going to have five of these folders in the new catalog! You are going to love them!

Nailed It

I made this card using a new stamp set from the 2017 Occasions Catalog called Nailed It. It was one of those sets that didn’t catch my eye right away but the more I looked at it, the more I decided I had to have it. I think what happened is it has a Happy Fathers Day stamp in it and since I don’t have any fathers left I didn’t think I needed it. The thing is, it makes a great man card. All the tools and the sentiments are perfect for that.

The other nice thing about this stamp set is it has a set of matching Framelits called Build It. Ya gotta love any stamp set that has matching Framelits!

Tasty Trucks is an adorable stamp set that you can earn for free during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order. Yes, I said free. All you need to do is place a minimum $50 order and you can pick this great stamp set (or any other) that is in the Sale-a-braition Catalog. The set includes 16 Photopolymer stamps. There are 7 sentiments along with the truck and some food items that a food truck would serve. It is perfect to use with the new Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils or Stampin’ Markers. I happen to use the markers on this card.

The background is one of my favorite Embossing Folders. It is called Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (a mouthful!) . It is different than a normal embossing folder. The impressions are deeper so it makes it look almost 3D. When using one of the Dynamic Folders, you don’t need to use the bottom plate with your Big Shot because it is so thick.

A Masculine Birthday Card

The 2017 Occasions Catalog has some really fun and different things in it. First of all there is the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders. They deboss instead of emboss. It is a little hard to tell by the picture but the outside of the letters press into the cardstock. A normal embossing folder does the opposite. This set has two words. One is the “Happy” I used on this card and the other says Celebrate.

Another fun item in this catalog is the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. This folder embosses deeper than most folders giving the card a 3D look. It is thicker than regular embossing folders too so you don’t need to use a bottom plate with your Big Shot.
