Hearts Come Home

This is the third card we made at our monthly club meeting.  It uses a new stamp set that is in the 2017 Holiday Catalog called Hearts Come Home.  It has a matching set of Edgelits called Hometown Greetings and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

I absolutely love the sentiments in this stamp set.  There is “Joy To The World” that we used on this card but there is also one that says “All Hearts Come Home For Christmas”, “Wishing You A Beautiful Season And A New Year Of Peace And Happiness” , and “Enjoy The Warmth Of The Season”.   I especially love the All Hearts sentiment.  This will be the first Christmas in 37 years that Rob and I will be alone.  It is very sad but I know in my heart that my kids want to be here and would if they could.

To make this card we first embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Embossing Folder called Softly Falling.  They I used one of the dies to cut out the houses and layering it over a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock that I had cut out using the Layering Ovals Framelits.  I embossed the Santa and his sleigh stamp with White Embossing Powder and then layered the piece of a Whisper White scalloped oval.

Love Is In The Air

Sunshine Sayings, Sunshine Wishes, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

This is a nontraditional Valentine’s Day card I made using Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach.  I suppose the name Flirty Flamingo is appropriate for Valentine’s so I think that makes it ok to use.

I used the stamp set called Sunshine Sayings to make this card.  This set is in the Annual Catalog and has matching Thinlits called Sunshine Wishes.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  This is one of those stamp sets that didn’t catch my eye right away.  Then I started seeing samples of it on Pinterest.  Then Jackie, my Stamp Off buddy, started posting her samples and she talked me right into it.  Now I use it a lot, especially with Valentine’s Day coming up.

You better start making your Valentine’s Day cards soon since it is only a couple of weeks away.  Valentine’s (like birthdays) was made for cards so it is definitely a must do thing.  I send Valentine’s Day cards to my sisters and mother so it is not just for husbands, wives, girlfriends or boyfriends.  You can send one to people you love (like family)!

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase! Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order)! Santa’s Sleigh

Santa's Sleigh

I must admit I am having a hard time making Christmas cards when it is still 70 degrees out.  I guess if I lived in the South, this would be normal but since I live in the North, it just seems odd.

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly club meeting.  It uses a stamp set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog called Santa’s Sleigh.  It has a set of matching Thinlits also called Santa’s Sleigh and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  It is a cute set yet it is elegant with the sleigh pieces.  The sleigh is actually made from two different dies.  Other than the pieces we used for this card, this set also has a reindeer, a small wreath, teddy bear, bows and a few other shapes.  I know you can’t really tell from this picture but we also used the Wink Of Stella on the red part of the sleigh and the star to give it a little shine.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a stamp set that is a must have because it has every sentiment you can ever need!  The snow in the background is made from an Embossing Folder called Softly Falling.

A Quick & Easy Christmas Card

Santa's Sleigh, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Ok, Ladies.  It is almost October so it is time to think about what you are going to do for your Christmas cards.  I know the holiday season gets very busy and sometimes you just can’t find the time to make cards on top of everything else you have to do.  This is why I am reminding you to get started early.  I expect a Christmas card from all my friends and customers! I am just kidding.  Sort of.  Kind of.  Not really.  Get moving!

I made this quick and easy Christmas card to show you that you don’t have to get all fancy and complicated with your cards.  I used a new stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called Santa’s Sleigh.  It has a set of matching Thinlits also called Santa’s Sleigh and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.

I embossed the background with an embossing folder called Softly Falling.  I traced the curve out with a bowl and then cut it by hand.  I find that cutting quickly make it smoother for some reason.  The first time I tried it came out all jagged because I went slowly.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC48

47a5d720b3127cce98548acc27be0000003010wAbsWbFozaNGbUA

This is the last Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for 2015.  It is brought to us by Heidi.  She decided to do a “Anything Goes” challenge this week.  The only requirement is, your creation must have snow on it.

Anything goes with snow

Here is the card I made for this challenge:

Hearth & Home, Sleigh Ride

I used some products from the Holiday Catalog.  The window is from Hearth & Home Thinlits.  I love this window and I am so happy it is being carried over after the catalog ends on January 3rd.  Unfortunately, most of the other products I used are retiring and that makes me sad.  The Sleigh Ride Edgelits and the stamp set called Happy Scenes (the trees) are also retiring.  The good thing is, Stampin’ Up! has made another stamp set that will go with the Hearth & Home Thinlits for the Occasions Catalog!

To make it look like it is snowing outside the window, I embossed a piece of vellum with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I wanted to write a quick note that I will not be one of the Watercooler Wednesday Artists after this.  I’ve taken a new path in my job and I think it will be hard to keep up with everything for a bit.  I wish all the other artists the best and thank them for allowing me to be a part of their group.

Now check out what the other Watercooler Artists have made for this challenge HERE.

Gift Card Holder

Peaceful Pines, Softly Falling

This is the first project we made for our Monthly Stamping Club meeting.  It is a gift card or money holder card with a matching envelope. We used the stamp set called Peaceful Pines that is in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  It has a matching set of Framelits called Perfect Pines and you can buy both in a bundle and save 15%!  We used the Soft Falling Embossing Folder which looks like snow.

Here is the inside:

Peaceful PInes, Gift Card Holder

Can you see the little pocket where you can put cash or a gift card?  Sometimes it is hard to see the details in these photos.

The card was easy to make.  You just use a piece of cardstock that is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  You score at 3 1/2″ and 7″ and decorate.

We also made the envelope using the Envelope Punch Board using the measurements for a 3 1/3″ x 5 1/2″ envelope.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC38

47a5d720b3127cce98548acc27be0000003010wAbsWbFozaNGbUA

It is Watercooler Wednesday again!  Today’s challenge is brought to us by Buffy.  She gave us a Tic Tac Toe challenge.

TicTacToe-001

To participate in this challenge you need to choose a line.  You can choose a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line and make a card, scrapbook page or 3D item (or anything else you wish) using all the items in that line.  You can use more than what is in the line but you have to have everything in the line included.

Delicate Ornaments

I chose the line that has Gold (the sentiment and Cord), Die Cut (the sentiment and the Delicate Ornaments) and Heat Embossing for my (“Christmas”) card.  I also added dry embossing because I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder for the background.

You can see the other creations if you click HERE.  Now go and make an item using the Tic Tac Toe board above and link it to our website.  Maybe you will be the next person to Rock the Watercooler!

Sleigh Ride

Sleigh Ride Thinlits, Happy Scenes

Although summer is almost over, it is still very warm here in Northern New York.  I think the world’s weather has gone crazy lately.  We are either having heat waves or getting rain to the point of drowning.  There doesn’t seem to be a happy medium.  It is ok though.  I would rather put up with hot weather than to think about what is coming right around the corner.  This card actually looks a little refreshing when it is hot out.  It will probably bring me chills in December and I will be wishing for the warmth again.  All I can say is four and a half more years!

I made this card using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies.  The trees and the sentiment are from a stamp set in the Holiday Catalog called Happy Scenes.  The background of snow was made with a new embossing folder called Softly Falling.  I think it adds a nice soft, peaceful feeling to the card.  I guess that is why Stampin’ Up! named it what they did!
